Hey, everyone! Welcome to “Final Fan-Fics”. This thread will house all the fanfics I write. Since this is YCM, I’ve decided to start off with a Yugioh fanfic. This is my first shot at writing like this so go easy on me, lol. It’ll be starting at Duel Academy, but will get more of an “urban” setting later on. The characters will be using cards I created, so you know it’s going to be good.

“Here are the results of the duel. Applicant number 43 fails.” said Nathaniel as he handed some papers to the other Obelisk Blue student behind a desk.

“You have to stop failing possible students, Nathaniel” she said with a sigh.

“Us “blues” shouldn’t have to be stuck with this job, Naomi. I guess the teachers are getting lazy.”

“Well there’s one more applicant. Care to finish this one off quick?”

“Nah, give it to Marcus, I’m finished for today.” Nathaniel turned the corner and left.

“I think you’re the lazy one...” she muttered once he was gone.

[center][b]APPLICANT #44! A Turn in Destiny![/b][/center][b]

“Why am I even here?” Clovis said to himself. He had been standing in the dueling ring for almost an hour, leaning against the closest wall for balance. He had come to apply for Duel Academy because of a letter he got in the mail, inviting him specifically to attend. But now that he was here, it didn’t look like anyone even knew who he was.

The door across the field opened and a teenager wearing a white and blue uniform stepped through. “Alright, let’s make this quick” he said, activating his duel disk. “The name’s Marcus. I’m here to test you to see if you’re worthy of entering Duel Academy.”

“Alright, about time! I was getting tired of people staring.” called back Clovis using his thumb to point to the inpatient crowd. Outside the Arena’s walls was a whole stadium. The seats were filled with small patches of students sitting here and there. All were anxious for this duel to be over so they could go on to duel academy.

“I’m setting two cards face down. Ones a monster, and the others a trap. It’s your move.”

“Hey, wait a minute,” said Clovis who was just drawing his cards now. “Ok, now I’m ready. I’m summoning a monster! It’s my [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/TanukiRabbitSide1.jpg]Troublesome Tanuki[/url]!” [b](4/1400/1800)[/b] A small racoon-dog appeared, standing on its hind legs and brandishing a staff. “Go, Tanuki! Attack the face down monster!” The Tanuki obeyed its master and struck the face-down card with its staff. The holographic image of an armored woman appeared, just before bursting into pixels. Clovis didn’t care what it was, he just saw his opening. “Now for Tanuki’s ability! It’s Turn Summon time!”

“Turn Summon?” Marcus asked himself. He knew there were only supposed to be 3 types of summoning in the game; Normal, Flip, and Special. He was at the top of his class at duel academy and even he hadn’t heard of this before.

The Tanuki jumped into the air, placed a leaf in its forehead, and instantly disappeared in a puff of smoke. A rabbit dropped down from the smoke and landed on the ground. It wielded a sword that was longer than it was! “Go, [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/TanukiRabbitSide2.jpg]Righteous Rabbit[/url]! [b](4/1700/300)[/b] Attack Marcus directly!” The hare swung the heavy blade with intense speed and cut across Marcus. These monsters only being holograms, it didn’t actually hurt him.

CLOVIS: 4000
MARCUS: 2300 (-1700)[/b]

“It’s your go!” concluded Clovis. The students in the stadium began showing interest in the duel. None of them had seen a “Turn Summon” before.

“Interesting,” said Marcus as he drew his card. “A move like that would have granted you acceptance into the academy with any normal examiner. But I’m no normal examiner, I’m also a student, and all I see when I look at you is competition!” The crowd began to murmur amongst themselves. “That card you destroyed was my [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/CaC%20Contest%20Entries/PeacekeeperGuardna2.jpg]Peacekeeper Gaurdna[/url], and because all I have on my side of the field is a face-down trap card, she comes back from the grave. She won’t be staying for long, though. I’m tributing her for a bigger monster. My [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Zaborg_the_Thunder_Monarch]Zaborg, the Thunder Monarch[/url] [b](5/2400/1000)[/b]!” The armored woman disappeared and was replaced with a large and mighty monarch. As soon as it hit the field, the stadium was filled with a bounding crack of thunder.

The onlookers were thrown into conversation. Everyone was amazed that Marcus wasn’t using a proper “test deck”, but his personal deck. He was serious about getting rid of this kid.

“Now for Zaborg’s effect,” declared Marcus. A thunder bolt launched from Zaborgs hand and struck Clovis’s rabbit. In an instant, it was gone. “Now Zaborg, attack him directly!” The monarch launched another bolt, this time hitting Clovis.

[b]CLOVIS: 1600 (-2400)
MARCUS: 2300[/b]

“Take your final turn.”

Clovis drew his card. “Ok, then. I’ll set a monster and two other cards face down. Your move.”

“That’s the best you can do? Ha! I tribute Zaborg the Thunder Monarch for another monarch. This one is called [url=http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Mobius_the_Frost_Monarch]Mobius, the Frost Monarch[/url] [b](6/2400/1000)[/b]!” Zaborg vanished and in his place stood a creature that brought a cold chill to the room. “Now watch his effect!” One of Clovis’s hidden spell/traps and Marcus’s face down card exploded into shards of ice.

“My Mirror Force! Wait, why would you destroy your own card?” asked Clovis.

“Because of this,” Marcus replied. As he spoke, his destroyed card reappeared on the field, this time, as a monster. “This is my [url=http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff132/ImaginaryCody/MidasKnight.jpg]Midas Knight[/url] [b](4/1700/100)[/b] and when it hits the field, so does another copy of it.” A second copy of Midas Knight was set face down as a trap card. “Now I activate [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Monarch%20Support/DreadedMonarchy.jpg]Dreaded Monarchy[/url] [b](Normal Spell)[/b]. By discarding one card, I can use Mobius’s effect again! Now your last face down spell/trap and my face down Midas Knight are destroyed.

“Not before I activate my card first! Go, [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/CaC%20Contest%20Entries/Bushidov2.jpg]Bushido[/url] [b](Quick-Play Spell)[/b]! Now my monster cannot be destroyed by yours this turn.”

"I may not be able to kill your monster, but I can still amass my army!” Another Midas Knight appeared on the field, and another set itself face down from Marcus’s deck. “Now, let’s see what monster you’re protecting! Mobius, attack!” Mobius discharged a concentrated blizzard at the Clovis’s set monster. It flipped over to reveal a giant peach! Marcus laughed at the sight of it. “You think you can beat me with citrus?”

“Watch me!” yelled Clovis drawing his card. “This is no ordinary piece of fruit. It’s my [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/PeachMomotaroSide1.jpg]Giant Peach[/url] [b](4/0/2100)[/b], and since it battled your monster, it can Turn Summon!” The large peach was cut open from the inside and out sprang a samurai wearing red and blue. “This is [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/PeachMomotaroSide2.jpg]Momotaro, the Peach Boy[/url] [b](8/2700/2100)[/b]! His ability lets me summon all of his animal friends from my hand!” A [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/Monkey.jpg]monkey[/url] [b](2/800/100)[/b], and [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/Dog.jpg]dog[/url] [b](2/500/400)[/b], and a [url=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m307/God_Kaze/Turn%20Summon%20Cards/Bird.jpg]bird[/url] [b](2/700/300)[/b] appeared on the field.

[i]In one move, he’s outnumbered me![/i] Though Marcus. [i]No matter, that Peach Boy of his is the only one that can do any real damage.[/i]

“Now, for the special ability of the Momotaro Animals! They can attack you directly! First up, Monkey!”

[b]CLOVIS: 1600
MARCUS: 1500 (-800)[/b]

“Then, Dog!”

[b]MARCUS: 1000 (-500)[/b]

“And finally, Bird!”

[b]MARCUS: 300 (-700)[/b]

“I’m finishing you off now! Momotaro, strike down Mobius!” The red-armored warrior obeyed and jumped up into the air. He drew his sword and fell down on Mobius, slicing him in half. The former mighty creature exploded in a cloud of ice shrapnel.

[b]MARCUS: 0[/b]

Clovis couldn’t believe he just won. Marcus couldn’t believe he had lost. The audience couldn’t even believe the outcome themselves.

Standing at the doorway to the stadium was Naomi, draw there by the cheers of the crowd.

“Wow, someone actually beat Marcus. Nathaniel will be sorry he missed this.”

Thanks for all the great reviews! The next chapter should be up either tomorrow of the day after. I also want to point out a mistake I made. I said the "Momotaro Animals" attacked Marcus directly, even though that's not part of their effect. I forgot to say Clovis uses this card:

Chapter 2!

 

“I talked with Naomi.” said a mysterious person to Nathaniel. Unlike the other students, this unknown person was wearing a black uniform.

 

“So? What did she have to say?” Nathaniel asked. He was leaning against the ship’s railing. The ship carrying all the students to Duel Academy. The mystery person stood behind him, in the shadows.

 

“You should have stuck around at the exams. Marcus was apparently put in his place by some kid.”

 

“How’s he taking it?”

 

“You’re not even going to ask who beat him?”

 

“...I already know who. Why do you think I gave him the assignment?”

 

“Avoiding the loss yourself?”

 

Nathaniel turned around to face the strange person. “I could have won, but it was a better choice for Marcus to lose, Icarus.” As soon as he called him “Icarus”, the man grew suddenly silent. “I’m going to talk to Naomi, you can stay here and watch the waves.” Nathaniel walked below deck, leaving the mysterious student standing on the deck alone.

 

The school rankings! Where do you match up?

 

All the students had left the boat which was now docked at the island’s edge. Clovis had followed a group of students to the school. He had been given a red uniform, like most first year students. It seemed everywhere he went, students would be whispering about his duel with Marcus.

 

While walking down the halls, a voice called out to him. “Hey, you! Cl– No, not you! Clovis!” Clovis turned to a woman in an “Obelisk Blue” uniform. She looked at least two years older than him. “Hey, the name’s Naomi. I wanted to say congratulations on your match. It’s not every day a newcomer beats a duelist ranked in the top 5.”

 

“The top 5?” asked Clovis.

 

“Here,” she said pulling out her cell phone. “I can access the internet with this thing... Ah, here we are!” Naomi shoved the cell phone into Clovis’s face. On the small screen he could make out the Academy web page and last year’s rankings (based on number of victories, type of deck/strategy, and grades). Ranked at the #2 slot, was Marcus.

 

“Wow, I didn’t know he was so high up on the dueling ladder.”

 

“Yup, and here I am at #5. Don’t you want to duel me?” she asked pulling the phone away.

 

“Well I already defeated Marcus, and he’s ranked higher than you are. I guess there’s no point if it means I’d just win.” Clovis replied with a laugh.

 

An angry look suddenly appeared on Naomi’s face. But her expression quickly changed back to a false-smile without Clovis noticing. She forced a laugh and said, “yes, very funny. But of course you want to duel.” She grabbed him by the wrist and started dragging him down the hall.

 

“Hey, wait! Where’re we going?”

 

“To the roof!”

 

“What? Why duel on the school roof? That doesn’t make any sense! There’s a whole stadium over there!” Clovis pointed in the direction of a small stadium built into Duel Academy.

 

“Yes, but it’s off limits to students while classes are going on.” she said, now dragging him up a flight of stairs.

 

“Now you’re making me skip class?!”

 

“Quit whining, we’re here.” Naomi opened a door at the top of the steps and continued to drag Clovis to the center of the roof and finally let him go. “You stand over there, and I’ll stand over there. It’ll be a fun duel.”

 

Clovis caught the duel disk that was thrown at him by Naomi and walked to where he was told to go. “Might as well, it sounds like classes have already started.” he muttered to himself. “Mind of I go first?” he called over to Naomi.

 

“Not at all!” she yelled back. There was quite a distance between them.

 

Clovis drew his cards and Naomi did the same. “I summon Righteous Rabbit (4/1700/300) and set one other card. Your move.”

 

“Ok,” she said drawing her card. “I’m summoning Luster Dragon (4/1900/1600). Watch my beautiful adamant dragon devour your rabbit! Go, Luster Dragon!” The dragon launched itself forward at Naomi’s command and destroyed the Righteous Rabbit.

 

CLOVIS: 3800 (-200)

NAOMI: 4000

 

“I’m not finished yet, I’m activating Dragonic Spectrum (Quick-Play Spell). This card converts dragons into light-dragons.” As she spoke, the Luster Dragon changed and began emanating a red light (Guiding Dragon - Red 4/1500/1500). “Now my red dragon can attack you directly!” The Dragon fired a beam of red light from its mouth and hit Clovis head on.

 

CLOVIS: 2300 (-1500)

 

“Your move.” she said innocently.

 

“I draw... and activate my trap card!” The face-down card flipped up to reveal, Call of the Haunted (Continuous Trap). “I’m bringing back Righteous Rabbit! I’m also summoning my Thunder Breaker (4/1200/1400) to the field!” The familiar sword-wielding rabbit and a man with lightning crackling between his fingers appeared at Clovis’s side. “Rabbit, attack that dragon!”

 

“Nah, ah! Don’t you know that red means stop?” The Righteous Rabbit swung its sword, but it was stopped by an invisible force. Ripples of red light emanated from where the sword was stopped.

 

Clovis gritted his teeth. How could he have walked into that? “Ok then, I’ll end-”

 

“Not so fast! The light is changing colours! My red dragon goes to the Graveyard, and my yellow dragon (Guiding Dragon - Yellow 4/1600/900) takes its place from my deck. Now your turn is over, which means mine has just begun. Ok, Yellow Dragon. Attack his Thunder Breaker!”

 

“I guess you didn’t know, during my opponent’s turn, Thunder Breaker’s attack doubles! (1200

–> 2400).

 

“Guess you didn’t know I was ready for that.” Naomi slid a card from her hand in to the duel disk. “I’m using my Shrink (Quick-Play Spell)card to halve your monster’s attack power back to the way it was.” The yellow dragon let loose a beam identical to the red dragons, only a golden colour. Thunder Breaker exploded and Clovis’s Life Points crept closer to zero...

 

CLOVIS: 1900

 

“I’ll set a card, and turn it over to you.”

 

“Righteous Rabbit, attack that yellow dragon!” Clovis called as soon as he drew his card.

 

“I planned for that too. I activate my face down card, Dust Tornado (Normal Trap). This trap destroys your Call of the Haunted, and with it, your annoying little rabbit.”

 

“My monster isn’t going down that easy! I’m paying 700 Life Points to activate its ability!”

 

CLOVIS: 1200

 

A hole appeared below Righteous Rabbit’s feat and it fell down out of sight. From the holed jumped the Troublesome Tabuki (4/1400/1800) in attack position. “Since my Tanuki is immune to trap cards, when Call of the Haunted hits the grave, my Tanuki doesn’t get dragged down with it.” The tornado tore at Clovis’s field. Call of the Haunted vanished, but his monster remained unharmed. “Next I summon my Giant Peach (4/0/2100) and set a card face down. Now I’m sure your dragon is about to change again, right?” Clovis was correct, the dragon was sent to the grave and replaced with a green one (Guiding Dragon - Green 4/1500/1800). “Green means go, so I guess it’s your turn.”

 

Naomi started to get annoyed. He was mocking her cards! But she took a breath and began collecting her thoughts. She couldn’t lose her temper, this was too important to Nathaniel. Naomi looked over the field. Why would he bring out a monster with zero attack points? She thought. That face-down card must be a trap to make it stronger... So I should destroy his other monster until I can get rid of that hidden card.

 

“I’m activating Dragon’s Mirror (Normal Spell). I can fuse the green dragon I have on the field, with the red and yellow dragons in my grave. They’re all removed from play so I can summon this, my Aurora Dragon Eos (8/2600/2600)!” A large rainbow-coloured dragon seemed to drop down from the sun itself. Clovis threw his arms in front of his face to shield his eyes from the multicoloured rays of light. “Now, Eos! Attack the Troublesome Tanuki!”

 

“Not so fast! I have a trap! I activate Spirit Lantern (Normal Trap). You see, all of my cards that can “Turn Summon” are Legend Monsters. This lantern lets me Turn Summon each one of them. So my Tanuki turns back into the Righteous Rabbit (4/1700/300), and my Giant Peach becomes Momotaro the Peach Boy (8/2700/2100)! Not only that, when a monster is Turn Summoned, its battle position can change too, so Rabbit is being summoned in defense mode. Also, I have even more good news! Since Momotaro got Turn Summoned, I get to Summon Momotaro Animal - Monkey (2/800/100) from my deck.” The blue and red samurai, a small monkey (in defense position), and a rabbit-warrior appeared on the field.

 

“I’m still continuing my attack!” The mighty dragon hovering above Naomi discharged a rainbow coloured beam of energy from its mouth and engulfed Righteous Rabbit. “Before my turn’s done, I’m using my Burial from the Different Dimension (Quick-Play Spell) card to take the three dragons I removed from the game, and send them to my graveyard.”

 

“Momotaro attacks Eos!” Clovis called without bothering to look at the card he drew. Momotaro kicked off from the ground and soared at its foe. But suddenly, the dragon’s eyes turned red, and Momotaro was stopped by an invisible force, just like Righteous Rabbit was when it attacked the red dragon.

 

Clovis looked over at Naomi to see her sliding a card out from her graveyard. “Oh, sorry. When you attack Eos, he gets to use the effect of any of the Guiding Light Dragons in my grave. I just have to remove it from play.”

 

Clovis cursed under his breath. He was running out of Life Points, and he couldn’t even get in a single hit with his monsters. Clovis wondered if his victory against Marcus had been a fluke. When he looked over into Naomi’s eyes, he could tell she was wondering the same thing.

 

The door to the roof flew open. An elderly man stepped out and began walking towards Clovis. “Hmm, truants. You should both be in class right now.” A clueless look spread on Clovis’s face. Because his head was turned, he didn’t see the fear on Naomi’s face.

 

“Huh? Who’re you–” Clovis began asking but was suddenly cutoff when pushed by Naomi who ran past him and stopped right in front of the older gentleman.

 

“I’m sorry, Headmaster Bahrei. We were just dueling. I’ll never duel outside class again, sir.” Naomi said each sentence in between apologetic bows of her head.

 

The Headmaster placed his hand on top of her head to stop her. “It is alright. I would never discipline one of my precious blues when a Slifer Red is obviously the cause of this truancy.” He removed his hand from the top of Naomi’s head and walked over to Clovis. “It is the first day and you are already skipping class. I have the right to assume you would continue this behavior if given the chance. So, to prevent further inconvenience on my part, you are expelled from Duel Academy. May you never return.”

 

 

NEXT TIME: Expelled? That can’t be! Save me, Dark Magician Girl!

That was anti-climactic!

What was? The whole chapter?

 

All those guarding dragons have their effect activated during the second endphase right?

Originally, yes. But when I finished typing the duel, it was far too long. So I made the "anime version" of the cards faster to speed things along.

Nice, looks good, and since I heard you may use other's cards with permission, you may use mine if you want (course you probably don't even know some of my cards. As a hint, in GX's academy, I posted a lot of Wicked cards to kick off a new set. You can use them with the Wicked gods too if you want)

Nice, looks good, and since I heard you may use other's cards with permission, you may use mine if you want (course you probably don't even know some of my cards. As a hint, in GX's academy, I posted a lot of Wicked cards to kick off a new set. You can use them with the Wicked gods too if you want)

Thanks, though I won't be adding other cards for a while. At one point in my fan-fic, I'm going to have a sort of "create a character" contest so members who want their cards in my fanfic can add in a character that uses them.

“Where’s Naomi?”

 

“She’s with the kid now, Marcus.” answered Nathaniel. The two of them were sitting in class, ignoring the lecture taking place.

 

“You sent her to make sure?”

 

“Yes, and if he does have it, then I don’t blame you for losing. Let’s hope nothing goes wrong.”

 

“What could happen?”

 

Expelled?! That can’t be! Save me, Dark Magician Girl!

 

“Wait a minute, Headmaster! You can’t expel him!” Naomi said cutting between the Headmaster and Clovis. An annoyed look appeared in his eyes. “I– I mean, it wasn’t his fault. I was the one who dragged him up here. Quite literally.” Naomi let out a nervous laugh. But Bahrei didn’t seem that impressed.

 

“You are one of my elite students. You know better than this. It is clear you are merely covering for him.”

 

“No, no. It’s true! I wanted to duel him because he beat Marcus the other day.” When Naomi said this, Bahrei raised an eyebrow.

 

“Really,” he said turning his gaze to Clovis. “Is this true?”

 

“Er... Yes, sir.” Clovis said, looking down at the ground.

 

“I see,” continued Bahrei, “Well miss Naomi, you know the consequences of breaking the rules. Since you have no record of disobedience, I will give you the minimum punishment.”

 

Bahrei held out his hand and Naomi hesitantly placed her deck into his hands. The Headmaster spread the cards out in front of them, examined them, and pulled out a single card. The rest of Naomi’s card were returned to her, but the removed one was pocketed.

 

“You’re taking her card?!” asked Clovis.

 

“Her rarest card, as it states in the rules.”

 

“But you can’t–” Clovis was cut off by Naomi elbowing him in the gut. But she didn’t look up at him.

 

“I hope to see you both in your appropriate classes during next period. If not, you both will be out of here.”

 

Bahrei left the roof and closed the door behind him. Clovis looked over at Naomi who still refused to face him. Clovis placed his hand on her shoulder. “Naomi, I’m sorry...”

 

Naomi whipped herself around to look Clovis in the eye, batting his hand away. “You idiot! Do you have any idea how much that card was worth?!” She took out her cellphone and shoved it into Clovis’s face.

 

After prying the phone from his face, Clovis inspected “The Official Collector’s Guide” website displayed on the screen.

 

“What?! There’s no way a card can worth that much!”

 

“Well, believe it. You’re going to pay me back!”

 

“But I don’t have that kind of money!”

Clovis let out a sigh. He hated manual labor. Naomi had worked out some odd jobs for him until he made enough money to pay back her for the card she lost. So here he was, painting a small building just outside the academy. This is so stupid, he thought to himself.

 

“It’s the wrong colour...” said a voice from behind Clovis.

 

“So what? Like I care.” Clovis replied turning around. The person talking to him was wearing an Obelisk Blue uniform.

 

“We were assured you’d do a good job,” he persisted. “Didn’t you follow the design I gave Naomi?”

 

Clovis looked over at the paper he had discarded beside his paint pale. “That thing? I thought it was a joke. I couldn’t draw Dark Magician Girl on a piece of paper, let alone paint a murale of her. Besides, shouldn’t she be wearing a bit more clothes? I’m not painting anything that racy.”

 

The student cleated his throat. “Yes, well... That’s not for you to decide. It was the design voted on by the Dark Magician Girl Fan Club.”

 

“Dark Magician Girl Fan Club?”

 

“Correct, and I am its president, Damien. This is our headquarters and I demand you paint it properly.”

 

“Look, I like Dark Magician Girl as much as the next guy, but–”

 

“Then you must join!” Damian interrupted him. Before Clovis could say another word, he was grabbed by the arm and pulled around the corner. Before he knew it, he was inside the building. The inside was decorated with blue walls and pink seats. Down the center from the door was a strip of carpet leading to a showcase against the far wall. Inside was what Clovis could identify was a Dark Magician Girl costume. All around the room was small cases with more collectibles.

 

“Um.. Nice setup...” Clovis said.

 

“Thanks!” Damian began to drag Clovis around the showcases, showing off the club’s collection. “This is an authentic Dark Magician Girl uniform! Given away by Maximilian Pegasus himself in the “Who is the biggest DMG fan contest”! This is a signed Dark Magician Girl poster form the premier of her movie! Here is our collection of every edition of Dark Magician Girl card ever made! Even the incredibly rare misprinted one where she’s a four-star monster!”

 

“I see...” Clovis didn’t know what to say. This must be interesting to Damien, but it just looked like a bunch of junk to him. Dark Magician Girl wasn’t a real person, so how could she sign a movie poster? Thought Clovis.

 

“Oh, that’s right. You wanted to join. Best to start the ceremony!” Damian clapped his hands twice and before Clovis realized what had happened, he was surrounded students in black cloaks. They came from the front door, from behind display cases, from behind posters. Clovis could have even sworn he saw a tall person in a cloak split into two people!

 

“Who are these people? Where did they come from? Is this a fan club, or a cult?”

 

“These are members of the Dark Magician Girl Fan Club, here for the ceremony. Club members are always where they are needed.” While speaking, Damian was handing out lit torches to the cloaked members. They were standing on either side of the carpet leading down the center of the room. Damian stood in front of the large display case at the far end. “Step forward, Clovis.”

 

Clovis did as he said and walked down the line of dark figures and stopped in front of Damian. Damian held open a wooden box. Inside, lying on a small pillow, was a Dark Magician Girl card he had not seen before.

 

“This is the legendary Dark Magician Girl card used by Dark Magician Girl herself when she visited Duel Academy years ago. Remove it from the ceremonial box and pray for her acceptance.”

 

Clovis removed the card from the box. “What am I supposed to say to a card?”

 

Damian was unimpressed. “If you’re not going to take her seriously, then give her back,” he said, reaching out for the card.

 

“I’ll get serious, all right?” Clovis pulled the card away from Damian before he could grab it. But he reached back too far and the tip of the card was pushed into one of the lit torches held by a member. The card was engulfed in fire.

 

All around him, club members were screaming. Clovis dropped the burning card and all the members were trying to desperately put it out. Clovis decided to not stick around and started backing up towards the door. “E... it’s been great guys, but I have to...” When the club members turned to face Clovis, their eyes red with rage, he didn’t stick around to finish his sentence. Clovis ran out the door, a mob following close behind.

Naomi was walking through the school, looking for Nathaniel. When suddenly, she heard a cry for help...

 

“NAOMI! HELP!” Clovis darted past her with intense speed. Naomi could just make out what he said. Then, a crowd of cloaked figures past by chasing Clovis. Naomi recognized them as the Dark Magician Girl Fan Club and was able to pick up what some of them were saying.

 

“Kill him!”

 

“Tear up his cards!”

 

“Sacrifice him to appease Dark Magician Girl!”

 

Great, thought Naomi sarcastically. Now I get to save him...

Clovis turned down one hallway, then the next. He knew he couldn’t keep running, he just needed a place to hide. That’s when he saw the stairs leading to the roof and decided to head up there. For a moment, it looked like he was safe. But then the door bursted open behind him and fan club members flooded the roof, forcing Clovis to the edge. It looked to Clovis they had multiplied while chasing him. There was no way there was that many before! The members began to advance on him, and there was nowhere to run!

 

“Don’t harm that duelist!” came a voice a voice from the opposite side of the mob. Everyone turned to see who it was and addressing them, and was shocked to find, it was Dark Magician Girl! All the members kneeled before her, giving Clovis, the only person still standing, a better look of her. He noticed how dark her hair looked and automatically knew it was actually Naomi. He didn’t care where she got the costume, just that she was here.

 

“Our, lady. This duelist destroyed our most precious relic we have of you.” said the Damian, still kneeling at the front of the group.

 

“Well... I’m sure he didn’t mean it. So, um... Let him go free! And, um... I guess I’ll be off!”

 

“No!” all the fan club members said at once. “There is so much we don’t know about you! Please, let us ask you our questions!”

 

“Um... sure.” Naomi laughed nervously. She had hoped to get this done quickly. The members began bombarding her with questions faster than she could answer.

 

“Are you and Dark Magician really serious?”

 

“Well, you see–”

 

“When you’re next movie?”

 

“You should ask the produ–”

 

“What are your measurements?”

 

“I don’t see why you should–”

 

“What colour are you panties?!”

 

Naomi was looking down at the ground. Her hands were in front of her, gripping her short staff. This is so embarrassing... she thought. “Uh, no time for any more questions! Dark Magician Girl away!” With that, she jumped off the side of the building.

 

The club members stormed to the edge of the building and looked down. But she was no where to be seen. While they all stared in amazement, Clovis slipped back downstairs and out of sight, hoping Naomi was ok.
