So that's the reason for the delay. OK. You could add Naruto Uzumaki' date=' which has been transferred to this dimension through a gate and all guys from naruto are in his deck.

That would be... bizzare, to say the least. I really dislike crossovers, unless done exceptionally well, and this one just doesn't sound like it's going to work. I mean... Naruto... in the Yugioh-verse?

I have not problems with crossing over characters, but only while they're in the same universe. I mean, like how Yoh Asakura and Yusuke Yurameshi both live in Tokyo, so they could meet. But naruto seems a little too far off. Plus, the character would have to take interest in a card game. The perfect choice to me seems to be Sora from Kingdom Hearts. He travels from world to world and uses nothing but cards in that GBA game.

That actually sounds good O_o. If I see it happen, it might actually be one of the very few crossovers that I will like. However, it would be... immensely simpler, much more realistic, and make much more sense, to just use an existing character from the series who just happened to visit the academy...

Great fanfic! This one is probably one of the very few that I get hooked to. Can't wait for the next episode ^.^ And also... okay, maybe I shouldn't be intimidated by other people's number of posts and other such things (Rep and stuff), but I'd still like to say my opinion and such things on here xD

Err....uhm....and sorry if I can't rate your fanfic like Ixigo wrote. I'm...not that kind of guy ^.^;; Sorry again.

@gyrus

Santa Claus...? o.o... Actually, that sounds pretty good and interesting to read. Especially with God Kaze's creativity o.o. Marcus or Nathanial dressed as Santa. Maybe even Derek x.o....

Nah. Lol xD

Well anyways.... *Flies off to start next card set...*

Ok, I have 2 announcements so far:

1) I will be posting the next chapter tomorrow. I won't be posting my ZTK cards in the Remix Duelist's contest just yet until i find some good card art so it looks like the fanfic will actually be a preview of my entry, lol.

2) It looks like Clovis is dueling Santa Claus. Don't worry, fireheart, Clovis will eventually duel someone with a Kingdom Hearts Deck (wether its Sora or not, I haven't decided) outside the Christmas Special.

Oh, the Christmas Special is coming until closer to christmas. Until then, here's chapter 5. Sorry if the duels a little short.

Chapter 5!

Bahrei was sitting in his office. His chair was turned away from his desk and towards a wall made of glass. Bahrei looked down upon the campus through the large window.

A knock on the door. It slid open and Nathaniel walked inside. “Headmaster, I’m here to cash in a favour .” he said.

Bahrei didn’t bother turning his seat. He could see Nathaniel reflected in the window. “What is it this time?”

“Nothing too major, I assure you. I noticed that the new school ban list will be coming out soon. I was hoping you’d take my suggestion of a possible forbidden card.”

Tearing down the Ban List! Master of the Zero-Turn-Kill!

A crowd of students gathered in the hallway. Uniforms of red, yellow, and blue mixed together in a multicoloured ocean. They all stood in front of a large screen mounted just beside the duel-arena. It was time to announce the new Academy ban list. Each year, the Headmaster of the school chooses which cards would be limited or forbidden from student decks. This is meant to help students better understand the game by removing the overpowered and overly used cards.

Icarus was near the back of the crowd. He looked above the heads of students at the screen. It finally sprung to life! A moment of silence as all the students read. One-by-one, this years limited and forbidden cards were displayed on the screen and then added to a list on the screen’s edge. The appearance of each card was accompanied soon after by a chorus of moans from the group. Icarus was actually pleased with the new changes so far. It had little effect on his deck.

A student sneezed next to Icarus. He looked over to find a slouching, and rather tired looking, Clovis. “Were you up all night?” asked Icarus curiously.

“Yeah, I was running around the forest behind your dorm last night, trying to find that stupid cat.”

“Cat?” asked Icarus. But Clovis seemed to be too tired to conjure a response. “Well, maybe this will cheer you up. It’s a card I got for winning a large tournament. I thought you might want it.”

Clovis took the card being handed to him. “It looks pretty rare... Are you sure?”

“Yeah, give it to Naomi. I’m sure it’ll get her off your back.”

“She told you about the card she got taken away, huh?” Clovis let out a weak laugh then shrank down to the floor.

“THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!” bellowed a voice from the crowd. Icarus instantly recognized the voice to be Damien’s. He hadn’t seen him in a while, and was curious if he still had that DMG Fan Club still going.

“YES, AN OUTRAGE!” yelled a large group of people standing behind Damien. That pretty much answered Icarus’s question.

“Is there something wrong?” Everyone in the hall turned to see Bahrei standing in the hallway.

“How could you ban our precious Dark Magician Girl?!” demanded Damien. The Fan Club repeated was he said.. Without the cloaks and torches, all the members looked like ordinary students.

“Oh, I think I made the right decision. That card was far too distracting. You shouldn’t put it in your decks just because you like it. You should include cards that best benefit the strategy of your deck.”

“Dark Magician Girl was my deck!” shouted Damian. “I challenge you to a duel, Bahrei! When I win, you’ll have to let the Dark Magician Girl Fan Club decide this year’s ban list!” The Fan Club cheered at the bravery of their president. Bahrei merely smiled.

“I’d be happy to. Let us go the arena.” Bahrei tapped his walking stick he was carrying on the ground. All the students, who seemed to take that sound as a starting pistol, began to flood into the arena bleachers.

“What? A duel!?” Clovis sprung to his feet, suddenly full of life.

“Damien challenged Bahrei,” informed Icarus. “Ready to watch?”

* * * * *

Icarus and Clovis took their seats in the arena. “Hey, Derek. What kind of deck does Bahrei use, anyway?” asked Clovis

“Just wait and see. I guarantee you’ll like it. This happened last year too. I wonder if this is a sort of tradition here at Duel Academy, students dueling their Headmaster in rebellion to the ban list.”

“You ready?” Damian yelled over to Bahrei. Clovis couldn’t help but notice how funny it looked to see an “old man” wearing a duel disk.

“The question is, are you?” asked Bahrei. He drew the 5 cards from his hand as Nathaniel did and called out; “Obelisk! Ra! Slifer!”

The audience held their breath, waiting for the three Egyptian Gods to appear. They did appear, but not as everyone expected. The three legendary gods appeared... as women! Three tall girls, who couldn’t be older than teenagers, were silently hovering over the floor. Their eyes remained closed and their face showed to expression of emotion. Their elegant pure-white gowns flapped gently in an unseen breeze.

Some of the students looked in amazement at their beauty, but not Damien. He had the look of true horror on his face. The three elegant maidens hovered over to him, as if carried by invisible wires. The one wearing red accessories stopped in front of Damien, while the other two maidens on either side of him. Each one reached out a single finger and tapped Damien gently on the chest and each shoulder.

DAMIEN: 0

BAHREI: 4000

The duel was over before it even began.

Clovis and Icarus watched Damien slouch off the field, defeated. “Wow,” said Clovis. “That was fast.”

“That’s the power of Bahrei’s deck. If you noticed, those cards he played never changed their expression once while they were on the field. That’s because they’re dolls.”

“Bahrei plays with dolls?”

“His entire deck is built around toy cards that can hit you before the game even begins.” Icarus looked up at the ceiling. “They may be small, but I’ve never seen him lose...” Icarus looked back at Clovis only to find an empty seat.

Clovis had already jumped onto the arena and pointed at Bahrei. “I challenge you to a duel!”

Icarus smacked himself on the forehead with an open palm. How could I have let him go down there? He thought to himself.

Naomi slid into Clovis’s now empty seat beside Icarus. “Hey,” she said. “He’s actually challenging the headmaster?”

“Yup, now we can see if what Nathaniel was talking about is true.”

Back on the field, Bahrei was letting out a small chuckle. “Why, the truant thinks he can beat me in a duel?”

“Without a doubt,” replied Clovis. “If I walked away right now, then I’d only be a person who saw another duelist lose to the Headmaster of Duel Academy. But if I duel you, then I’ll be the duelist who defeated an opponent who could win before the duel even began.”

“What confidence. We will duel, but not yet. Before activating that duel disk, you have to take that forbidden card from your deck.”

“What forbidden card?” asked Clovis.

Bahrei smiled. “Polymerization. Sorry, but your Final Fusionist wont be able to save you from defeat. You would have known this if you had bothered to read the list I posted.”

“What? Well when I win this, I want Polymerization off the ban list!”

Bahrei just smiled back.

Clovis removed Polymerization from his deck as instructed and placed it into his pocket. He was confident it would find its way back into his deck soon. Clovis drew his five cards and looked over at Bahrei, waiting.

“I don’t think you know what exactly happened during my last duel,” started Bahrei. “So let me slow my moves down for you. I’ll let you feel the full experience of my Zero-Turn-Kill.”

“I’m ready!” Clovis shouted.

“First up is the effect of my Slifer, the Porcelain Doll (Normal Spell).” Bahrei slid a card from his hand into his Graveyard. The same maiden wearing a pure white robe and red accessories. Her eyes still remained closed. She drifted over to Clovis and tapped him with an outstretched finger, just as she had done to Damien. Two cards in Clovis’s hand began to glow red. “Ah, those two cards are trap cards. Now they both are destroyed, sent to the graveyard, and you take eight-hundred points of damage for each.”

CLOVIS: 2400

BAHREI: 4000

Clovis placed the two said cards into his graveyard as instructed and said, “boy, are you going to be sorry to did that.” Bahrei merely raised an eyebrow to this comment.

“Next is my Obelisk, the Bisque Doll (Normal Spell).” A woman appeared on the field as Slifer had and acted likewise. This time, only a one card was singled out in Clovis’s hand. “That glowing card is a Monster Card. It is destroyed.”

CLOVIS: 1600

BAHREI: 4000

“Yeah, and that’s where you made your mistake, playing Slifer before Obelisk. The card that you just destroyed is my Grave Raider (5/400/100). When he’s destroyed, I get to take a trap from my graveyard, and set it on the field. I can even use it this turn. If you had taken the time to look at what cards I sent to the Graveyard, I guess you’d have some idea what to expect.”

“Hmm, sorry to say It doesn’t really matter. My last precious doll is coming your way. Which means the game is won. I’m playing Ra, the China Doll (Normal Spell).” The final of the trio appeared on the field. This one was decorated with gold. The last two cards in Clovis’s hand began to glow and Clovis was forced to discard them “Do you see now, truant? You never had a chance.”

“Wrong! Reveal face down! Fusion Guard (Counter Trap)! By sending a random fusion monster from my fusion deck to the graveyard, I won’t take any damage. It looks like Final Fusionist is saving me after all.”

Bahrei didn’t look at all pleased with this move. His creepy smile seemed to be finally wiped form his face.

“That’s not all,” continued Clovis. “When Final Fusionist is sent to the Graveyard, I get to summon three Fusionists (3/900/700) from my fusion deck.” Three small purple cats with wings appeared on the field.

“Well, I see now that you’re going to make it past my first wave of cards. But don’t think this means you’ll win. I’m discarding my Celebration Decor Ritual (Ritual Spell) from my hand to summon Ornate Toy Angel (12/100/100) from my deck. Normally I would have to give some tributes, but I can by pass this rule since the duel hasn’t officially started yet.” A beautiful toy angel floated down from the bright arena lights. She reminded Clovis of the angel on top of Christmas Trees.

“How could a monster with such low attack points be such a high level?”

“Because it doesn’t matter what monster she battles with, my angel will ALWAYS have more attack points. This makes her the perfect card in terms of attacking and defending. Now, let’s begin this duel.” Bahrei drew his card, but didn’t look happy about what he had drawn.

“Something tells me these ‘ZTK’ cards of yours aren’t that great once the duel begins. My turn!” Clovis drew his card. “Now I’m using Pot of Greed (Normal Spell). This lets me draw two cards from my deck.” Clovis examined the two cards at his disposal. “First, I’m using Premature Burial (Equip Spell). By paying eight-hundred life points...

CLOVIS: 1600

“I can summon back any monster in my Graveyard. So I’m bringing back Grave Raider (5/400/100). He won’t be staying with me for long, because I’m using Creature Swap (Normal Spell). We each choose a monster we control, and the two of them switch places. Since you have to choose your angel, I’ll give you my Grave Raider.”

Bahrei looked in disgust as his perfect angel was replaced by a grotesque zombie in black clothing.

“Your said yourself that your angel was ‘ultimate’ in terms of attacking. Go, Toy Angel! Attack Grave Raider!” The angel’s ATK raised to 500 and she threw a small sphere of light at her target. Grave Raider has absorbed into the light, as if a black hole has been thrown at him.

CLOVIS: 1600

BAHREI: 3900

“Don’t forget that when my Trap Rigger is destroyed, I get a trap card back from the graveyard. It’s the other trap your Slifer destroyed.” A face down card materialized on the field. “I think I’ll activate it too. Go, Aqua Chorus (Continuous Trap)! As long as I have more than one monster with the same name on the field, all of those monsters get an attack boost (900 –> 1400 (x3))! Go Fusionists, attack Bahrei directly!” The three cats piled up on Bahrei.

BAHREI: 2500 > 1100 > 0

“Looks like I beat your Zero Turn Kill, with a One Turn Kill,” Clovis said, giving a thumbs up.

The watching students broke out into cheers. This was the first time they had seen their headmaster lose. Clovis turned around and gave a wave to the onlookers.

Up in the stands, Icarus wasn’t cheering. He was looking in disbelief at what had just happened. “Every card.... Every card he needed to win, was in his hand. If Bahrei had played his first three cards in the right order, Clovis would have lost.”

“Huh, Nathaniel was right,” said Naomi. “ I’m just glad we found him when we did.”

Back on the field. Clovis felt a large hand placed on his shoulder. He turned his head to face Bahrei who seemed to have recovered his smile. “Very good, Clovis.” Clovis smiled back. It was nice not being called a truant anymore.

When everyone stopped cheering, Bahrei broke off from Clovis and faced the crowd. “I am pleased to announce the temporary suspension of the ban list for the next two weeks. I have enlisted Duel Academy in a moderately sized tournament in Domini City. Once we’ve returned, the Academy’s custom ban list will be devised by myself and the student who ranks highest in the tournament.”

* * * * *

“Congratulations on your win,” said Naomi.

“Thanks,” replied Clovis. “ I can’t wait until this tournament thing starts. I’m gonna win this!”

“Boy, I’m glad that victory didn’t go to your head.”

Clovis and Naomi were standing around in the hallway. Most of the students had retired to their dorms, resting up for tomorrow. Other students were roaming the school; heading to the card shop, looking for people to trade with, studying strategies on the school’s computers. All of them getting ready for the tournament ahead.

“That reminds me, I wanted to give you this...” Clovis held out the card given to him by Icarus. Naomi’s mouth fell open when she saw it. She quickly snatched it away from Clovis and turned away from him. She held the card up to the window, examining it in the setting sun’s light, making sure it wasn’t a fake. “I guess that means I pay off my debt? Looks like you won’t have to follow me around anymore.”

Naomi dropped her head for a moment. There was a short moment of silence before she said, “n-no. Don’t be stupid. This card doesn’t even come close to paying off the one that was taken from me.” Naomi turned around to look at Clovis again. “So as soon as this tournament is done, you’re going straight back to work. In fact, I’m going to find work for you in Domino City while we’re there.”

“Strange, Icarus was so sure I’d be set free by that card. Now that I think about it, I should have asked for your card back when I beat Bahrei.” Clovis shrugged and said, “Oh, well. I’m going to bed. I’ll see you later, ok?”

Clovis ran off down the hall to the red dorm. Naomi was left looking down at the card she was given, Clovis’s words ringing in her ears.

Looks like you won’t have to follow me around anymore.
