[align=center]Yesterday I went swimming in the ocean in Turkey anyhoo where there should have been sand there were thousands of stones instead and in the ocean just as you got in where the tide came in there were tons of huge rocks lying on the ground you had to walk over to get into the ocean. Today I came back to the villa we are staying in to discover I cant swim because I have 3 deep cuts -and the salt sea water didnt help either- and billions of sharp tiny cuts. FML.

Anyhows to make this general discuss all the sucky things like this that have happened to you on vacation or something that prevents you to do something you like.[/align]

Yes. All oceans together are one big ocean. I dont know the English name, but freely translated, it is "World Ocean". But because the single oceans are this big, they are rarely called like this.

Oceans are called oceans for a reason. Seas are called seas for a reason, and so on. There's an obvious difference.

 

Not seeing clear geographic labels is like counting Africa, Asia, and Europe as one giant continent.

I hate dark swirling water.. it freaks me out... and fire don't help at nights either...

I went to a resort (2006? or 2007?), and there was a water slide. I went down, and this fat kid went down right after me (there was a sign saying wait 10 seconds, but he was probably a moron fatass from Texas). After I fell into the pool, 500 pounds of human fell on me. I was fine, though.

And of course there are oceans, seas and golfs and such stuff. But the leaf of a tree still belongs to a tree, right? But it's called leaf, not tree.

It's just for completeness and better orientation that they named all the seas and smaller waters. If it all was called Atlantic, it would be like "In my holidays, I swam in the Atlantic!", although you actually went to Italy and swam in the Mediterranian Sea. Is this enough now?
