pixie ring would make this able to abuse him so bad.

he is the best monster to have out when you can negate any attack coming toward him' date=' since then you get the chance to say,

"you just got pwned by a clown."

and that is priceless.

Yes it is. :D

BTW: This is the first hot disco. YAY!

I agree with people who think Jester Confit is pretty good. albiet I probably wold only use him in monarchs. I know Fiend's Sanctuary does the same thing for monarchs, but like it's been said, in a pinch he's Allure target. His effect is terrible, but at least he has a secondary effect. I don't see Fiend's Token having any.

The only problem I see with Confit is it drains your hand to special then tribute for a monarch.

Bieng Dark helps him though, he's awesome. Not spectaculer. but Awesome. Monarchs will only SEEM faster not be faster. If anything people will just play them more often because they didn't know simalar options existed.

EDIT: I know fiend's token has an effect, but like decoy dragon, who the **** is gunna attack the token knowing his effect?

How on earth is this a "big loss of advantage"? Is cydra a "big loss of advantage" in monarchs? Or vice dragon? Or spell striker? Is instant fusion a big loss? Is emergency teleport? Is plaguespreader zombie a huge loss?

What constitutes a gain then? Just treeborn frog' date=' pretty much.

With Jester:

SS Him (+0)

Tribute him for a monarch (-1)

Activate Monarchs effect (+1)

This is +0.

With Treeborn

SS Treeborn (+1)

Tribute (-1)

Actvate effect (+1)

That is a +1

You can't win with simplification only. YOu need pluses.

Thus the only good monarch fodders are stuff like dj commander, apprentice, goblin zombie, free porn , etc ...

Except those are not used in most monarch builds (except treeborn). They are bad. If all it took was a bunch of +1s then gadgets would be the best deck in the game.

The reason the +0s are better usually is because they possess instant utility. All the +0 cards have delayed utility. Goblin zombie needs to survive a turn, apprentice has to survive a turn AND be destroyed by battle to generate advantage. dj commander, I don't know what that is (disk commander?) None of those can bring out a monarch on the same turn it is played. The +1s are useless if they arrive too late to actually help you win.

Zombonarchs' date=' Apperentice Monarcs and PCM (R.I.P) were/are some of the best monarch builds. Maybe Cornarchs too. And these cads are used in them [/b']

Well different decks have different win conditions. Gadgets and Monarchs win by havin a big card advantage

The reason the +0s are better usually is because they possess instant utility.

But after a lot of simplificatipon, if your opponent destroys your monarch there will be a top deck war

All the +0 cards have delayed utility. Goblin zombie needs to survive a turn

Book of Life?

, apprentice has to survive a turn AND be destroyed by battle to generate advantage.

Long ago people destroyed by battle that's why this was 1 of the best deck.

dj commander, I don't know what that is (disk commander?)

Yes. Revive him (+2) > tribute (-1) > Effect (+1) This is +2. The best tribute fodder (Banned ;( )

None of those can bring out a monarch on the same turn it is played.

You can revive them

The +1s are useless if they arrive too late to actually help you win.

See above

I'm not talking about what worked in previous formats. I'm talking about the best monarchs now, at this very moment. For your cards to have instant utility, you need to have other cards to interact with them. The cards I mentioned, all needed only themselves or generic cards.

If this card, is a "huge loss" in monarchs and bad fodder, than cyber dragon, a card UNIVERSALLY RUN in monarchs, is bad fodder. Actually, confit is better fodder because his effect is not situational. If this is bad in monarchs, than nearly every fodder used in modern monarchs is bad fodder.

I agree that Jester > CyDra

I was going to run him for an extar CCV fodder, but they banned CCV so he is not good now. And he is not a huge loss as zelda said, but he takes away your "+"

And I hope that Sept 09 will change something, but all monarch builds right now are better if you take out the monarchs and just leave 2-3 teched Caius.

Edit: Oh and I think that it's stupid to -1 yourself for an extra level in your synchro.

Edit2: @Genzo: Zombonarchs are still good and with Mezuki at 2 next format, the will have a chance to get to tier 1. (Or t1,5 :S )

He does not take away your +1s. I do not see where you got the idea that a deck running confit can run only confit. The best monarch deck draw fodder from multiple sources. +1s and +0s, cards with instant utility and ones with delayed utility.

Well i'd never deck him for just that. But it's one possible use, all considered, and it adds to his versatility. Sometimes a level 8 in BWs can win you the game, and they are hard to make in that deck.
