Welcome to the Duel Academy...

[spoiler=Introduction]

Duel (Central) Academy was created by Seto Kaiba and he made the Rank Structure of the Students. The Central Academy is located on an Island with a Dock for boats, a Volcano, Beach and a lake, Cliffs and Waterfalls. It has the Main Academy Building where the Students go to learn had duel, a Gym Building separated from the Main Building located beyond the Beach. It has 5 Dorms for the Students, 1 Abandoned Dorm and the other Dorms are for the Students.

Structure of the Dorms

The 4 Dorm Buildings that houses the Students are separated into ranking of the students, with the Low End Duelists in the Slifer Red Dorm, the Middle Ground Duelists in the Ra Yellow Dorm, and the High Ranked Duelists in the Obelisk Blue Dorm (Which is the only Dorm shown to be separated into 2 buildings, 1 for the guys and the other for the girls of Obelisk Blue).

The Rankings of the Students

The Dorms were separated into 3 groups by Seto's views of the Egyptian Gods as it related to how he felt of the people who originally had the 3 Egyptian Gods. They originally used Silver Duel Disks until the second season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX in which the Silver Duel Disks were replaced with Duel Disks that matched the Dorms of the Duelists that wielded the new Duel Disks.

Slifer Red is where the low level Duelists are housed. It was named after the Egyptian God Card Slifer the Sky Dragon which was originally owned by Yugi Muto, whom Seto deemed worthless and a Low Level Duelist. The students of this dorm wear Red Jackets and used Red Duel Disks to match the colors of their Dorm.

Ra Yellow is where the mid level Duelists are housed. It was named after the Egyptian God Card The Winged Dragon of Ra which was originally owned by Marik Ishtar, whom Seto didn't care much for. The students of this dorm wear Yellow Jackets and used Yellow Duel Disks to match the colors of their Dorm.

Obelisk Blue is was named after the Egyptian God Card Obelisk the Tormentor which was originally owned by Seto himself, and of course Seto viewed himself as one of the BEST Duelists and therefore this Dorm would house the high level Duelists. They wear Blue Jackets and used Blue colored Duel Disks to match their Dorm colors.

When the organization Society of Light invaded the Duel Academy, the attire for those who "joined" them is similar to that of the Obelisk Blue uniform for males and females. The only difference is the alteration in colors from royal blue and white design to white and lavender design. In addition, the duel gloves are changed from royal blue to white as well.

[spoiler=Chapter 1]

Johnathon ran as fast as he could. His lungs felt as if they were going to explode, and his legs were getting weak. Johnathon had a regular Duel Disk strapped on his arm, which attracted a lot of attention as he sped his way down the streets of they bustling city. He ran faster as he saw his final destination:it was a sort of tower, a high building, and Johnathon would be taking his exams to have a chance to gain position at the Duel Academy.

"I was late two times already the past years, I'm not gonna lose track of time again!" he said as he stopped running into a sort of jog, panting.

Johanthon reached the entrance. It was guarded, and Johnthon groaned as the guards stopped him. He was late again, and he would never have a another chance...

"Am I too late?" Johnathon said, still panting. He was regretting he had run, seeing as though we was already late.

"We are halfway through the examinations!" one guard barked. "No entry is permitted!"

Johnathon sighed, turning around. As he started walking back home, he heard a slam and someone shout behind him-the front doors of the tower slammed open and someone was running toward Johnathon.

"Hey! You there!" said the voice behind Johnathon. He turned around and looked at the man who was now running toward him. He was tall, bald, and wore a long, black cloak as he sped toward Johnathon.

"You! Yes, you!" the bald man shouted as Johnathon looked around, thinking that the man was addressing someone else.

"Who are you?" asked Johnathon nervously;the man did not look friendly. The man now reached Johnathon and stopped in front of him.

"Me? You don't know who I am?" said the man, who was now towering over Johanthon, his shadow envoleping Johnathon in shade.

"No. Should I?"

"Why, I am the Headmaster of the Duel Academy!" the man smiled.

"And how come you're talking to me?" Johanthon asked. "...sir?" he added nervously.

"It appeared to me that we have one slot left for a student to register for the examination. And you seemed to be outside the tower, looking as though you wanted in." the Headmaster replied.

Johnathon knew where this conversation was going. Excitement flooded Johnathon's body, and the Headmaster seemed to notice, for he laughed.

"I take it you want to take the exam?" the Headmaster said. It wasn't a question.

"Yes, sir!" Johnathon said happily.

"Well, why don't we go inside? It's hot out here in the sun." the Headmaster said, leading the way to the tower.

It was what Johnathon dreamed of it would be: when they went inside, there was a single room in which an Information Desk and an elevator was, and they went all the way to the top floor which was so high Johnathon could not remember the floor, and there was a large balcony that stretched across the whole room looking over six small mini Duel Arenas where people were dueling the examination judges, also wearing cloaks like the Headmaster's.

"Whoa!" excalimed Johnathon as he saw the view of student hopfuls duel against the judges and teachers.

The Headmaster saw the look of awe on Johnathon's face, who was beside him, looking over at a group of teachers sitting in a little booth.

"Are they teachers?" he said, pointing to the booth.

"Yes, they are. They decide the students who will be able to go to the Duel Academy." the Headmaster replied, now handing a pair of bluish-grey clothes over to Johnathon.

"What are these?" said Johnathon, looking curioulsy over the clothes he had recieved.

"Change into those. You'll have to wear those when you take the examination, and if you pass, those will be your gym clothes at the acadmey." the Headmaster said, now pointing to a staircase at the end of the balcony. "Go to an empty Duel Arena once you're done changing. The bathroom is over there." he added, pointing to a door.

Johnathon was standing at one side of one of the Duel Arenas. He was the only applicant left, so everyone else who had passed was seated in the long row of chairs that stretched across the room, pointing at Johnathon and whispering into the next person's ear.

At the other side of the arena, an examination judge wearing a long cloak was standing, his Duel Disk raised readily.
