New Monster Type: Anima

Anyway, I was reading about the Japanese legend of tsukumogami, the hundred years spirits. The legend goes that if a man-made object that doesn't involve electricity reaches a hundred years of age, it attains its own spirit, a tsukumogami. Some tsukumogami are nice, like those from prayer beads, and other are going to eat you, like sandal tsukumogami. So I was thinking: what would happen if a YuGiOh card hung around for 100 years? And then, I came up with this idea:

ANIMA MONSTERS

Anima Monsters go in your Extra Deck. On each Anima Monster's effect, a particular Spell/Trap card or card-type will be named. (For example, Counter Trap). After that card, there will be a number in brackets (for this example, 3). If a card that is named on the Anima Monsters exists on your side of the field for a number of turns equal to the number listed, then you can Anima Summon that Monster. So, if an Anima Monster said Counter Trap (3), if you had a Counter Trap on your side of the field for 3 turns in a row, you could Anima Summmon that Monster.

Here's my first example:

"Bottomless Trap Hole" (4)

When this card is Anima Summoned, place it face-up on the bottom of your opponent's Deck. Your opponent must shuffle their Deck. Each turn this card is in a Deck, inflict 200 Life Points damage to the owner of the Deck. If this card is drawn, Special Summon it on your opponent's side of the field.

What do you think? Is it worth making more of this type of card, or just a gimmick that wouldn't catch on?

Interesting idea, would be a nice fit with cards like SORL, "Gravity Bind", "Nightmare's Steelcage", and would be a good edition to a stall/burn deck with the effect of this card.

I don't know it it would catch on, but I kind of like this card and it seems to work. The image is also pretty good.

Anima is not a real type

Thank you Captain Obvious. Reading the first post before looking at the card is generally a good idea.

It's a very unique and refreshing concept' date=' although I doubt that it would be very easy to work into a competitive Deck.

Thanks. =3 I think most Anima Monsters would require a much shorter time, and be lower leveled. I could see lots of more powerful than normal Level 4's being summoned from (2) turn Anima Summons. Could be useful for some beatdown decks, if you keep stocked up on spells and traps. I think the problem with this first one is it is too specific, I should have just put "Trap" or "Spell", and it takes too long.

That is a very interesting idea indeed, so as a exmaple a level 1-3 you'd need like 1 Countinuous Trap Card for 1 turn to summon them and say a level 7 up would need like 3 Counter Traps for 4 turns!?? Am I gettin it right? I really like the idea alot and the card on its own is cool to!! Nice pic too mate!! 9.5/10 keep the creative ideas coming!!
