This is why it works for Dark Worlds:

 

Discarding a card and negating the attack are considered to happen simultaneously.

Discarding 1 card is not a cost. It is part of the resolution of the effect.

 

What is that card that forces your oppoenent to discard cards for every card you discard? That could be good since you will be forcing discards so much on yourself.
