Altαir
This thread is dedicated to~ P O L A R I S ~ I've been thinking... and I noticed many questions are unanswered. I selected the questions based on philosophy (No, I am not a philosipher), specifically the stars. I know now (What, I'm 12) that Polaris is a very important star in our endless universe. Without Polaris (and the Sun), people would assume that the world is not an obligate spheroid, but flat, like the maps. Without Polaris, the Northern Hemisphere and it's history might all be lost to the fact that no one knew where north really was. Without Polaris, you would not be able to measure latitude (in the Northern Hemisphere) without a map. And, if you want to get religious, Polaris was part of the birth of (-Name With-held-) Polaris is one of the most important stars in this universe, for us human beings. And maybe other stars are important for other life on a different planet. Point being: Discuss stars, the stars that appear on your birthday (If you don't know, I can do it for you, but you must give me the hour you were born), their usefulness, and your favorite/least favorite star. You can also include a conversation on the sun and other celestial bodies. You can even include 2012, the day the world ends. For me, stars are everything. I like gazing into the polluted sky, and counting how many stars are visible.

Oblique
Very deeply put. Although the stars seem to have meaning, or reason for being, they are just there. Of course, there is always the option that there is some secret value behind them, perhaps a tribute to fate, but it seems quite unlikely, don't you agree? How many times have you made a wish and it actually come true? The world doesn't work that way.
