The Agarthan and the Lemurian Archetypes from the History of Man. To Those Who Originally Saw Era 2 : There Are New Cards Here[/align] [spoiler=[b]The Darkness Returns[/b]]And Marduk slew Apollion, ending the most destructive war in the history of man. But it was just the beginning. The Forgotten’s power was exhausted, they could no longer sustain their existence. Their cities fell to ruins and they eventually disappeared. The Malevolent were obliterated, and all thought they were destroyed. It was 10 millennia later that these two ancient races again manipulated the future of mankind. The remnants of the Forgotten had been settled and their advanced technology had led to the birth of three new races; all as advanced as each other. Atlantis was a peaceful kingdom in the Atlantic, isolated from other lands; they were pacifists and did not see it fit to wage war on others. On the other side of the world, the other two resided. Agartha was a land of machines. They had lost the magic of their ancestors and relied on machines to win their wars. Lemuria had retained the magical prowess of the Forgotten and thus commanded vast numbers of sorcerers and sea monsters. These two traded and communicated, but also realised the other’s relative strength rendered a war pointless, as it would lead to the destruction of both peoples. It was then that the Arcane Evil descended onto the Forgotten’s children. In Atlantis, the darkness formed itself into the Orichalcos; a twisted stone that unleashed the inner darkness of man and beast. Eventually, enough souls were corrupted and the Great Leviathan was born. Atlantis sank under the waves as it slipped into the darkness. In Agartha, the evil crafted the Infernals. Creatures of fire and darkness; they infiltrated Agartha and wreaked havoc. In Lemuria, men and monster were possessed by the all-consuming shadows, creating the Possessed monsters. Agartha struck back with planes and weapons of war, while Lemuria unleashed its magic and sea creatures.However, the darkness had the upper hand. The Agarthans’ firepower was resisted by the Infernals and the Lemurians’ sorcery had little effect on the possessed beasts. And as such, the two cities were taken by the forces of darkness. It was not until the two sides agreed to switch their forces that the advantage befell the defenders. Agarthan warships launched an assault on Lemuria, while Lemurian mages infiltrated Agartha. The Infernals could not withstand the Lemurians’ aquatic magic; and the Possessed monsters were destroyed by Agarthan weaponry. However, the evil was not to fall so easily. With one last effort, the Arcane Evil showed its true form and engulfed Lemuria. As the Malevolent’s successor’s power grew, the two races knew what had to be done to contain the evil. The two peoples united and razed Lemuria to the ground. The great city’s great palaces were swallowed by flames as the evil’s power weakened. With one final strike, the very ground Lemuria stood upon was reduced to molten rock; and the settlement fell into the earth, never to re-surface. Because of Lemuria’s sacrifice, Agartha remained; and retreated underground, to watch over humanity as it matured. And the world was peaceful for a time. But soon, once again, the Malevolent’s evil was to show itself. [spoiler=Agartha][spoiler=Effect Monsters] Effect: This card cannot be attacked by EARTH monsters. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you can reduce this card's ATK by 1000, until your End Phase. If you do, this card can attack your opponent directly during your Battle Phase. Each time this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, this card gains 150 ATK. Effect: This card is also treated as an EARTH monster. Once per turn, you can pay 500 Life Points. If you do, this card can attack your opponent directly during your Battle Phase. This card gains 200 ATK each time this effect is activated. Effect: Once per turn, you can destroy 1 face-down card on your opponent's side of the field. If you do, this card cannot declare an attack during your Battle Phase. This card gains 200 ATK for each card destroyed this way. If this card attacks a Level 5 or lower monster, destroy the monster with this card's effect without applying damage calculation. Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by Tributing 3 "Agarthan" monsters you control. This card is also treated as a FIRE monster. Twice per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle, it is not. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) This card gains 300 ATK for each "Agarthan" monster you control. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Each time this card destroys a monster by battle, put 1 Agarthan Counter on this card (Max. 3). When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon a number of Level 5 or lower "Agarthan" or "Lemurian" monsters equal to the number of Agarthan Counters on this card. Effect: If you control 1 or more "Agarthan" monsters, you can Normal Summon this card from your Deck. This card is also treated as an EARTH Machine-Type monster. If this card would be destroyed by a Spell or Trap Card effect, you can pay 500 Life Points and return this card to your hand to negate the effect and destroy the card. Effect: Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, select 1 Set card on your opponent's side of the field. Pick it up and look at it, then return it to its original position. Once per turn, during your End Phase, you can pay 150 Life Points to look at 1 card on the top of your opponent's Deck and return it to its original position. Your opponent cannot look at the card. Effect: During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card is removed from the field, you can pay 1000 Life Points. If you do, remove this card from play. During the second Standby Phase after this effect was activated, Special Summon this card in Attack Position. When this card is Summoned by this effect, all non-EARTH monsters lose 600 ATK. Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a "Agarthan" monster on your side of the field as an Equip Spell Card OR unequip the Union equipment and Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, once per turn, if the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed. (Damage calculation is applied normally). (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle, destroy this card instead.) Effect: Once per turn, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a face-up "Agarthan" Machine-Type monster you control (except "Agarthan Flyer") as an Equip Card, OR unequip it and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that monster gains 250 ATK and DEF and once per turn, if that monster would be destroyed by a card effect, it is not. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, this card is destroyed instead.) Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:- This card can attack twice during your Battle Phase. Once per turn, during your End Phase, destroy 1 face-down card on the field. If you do not, this card cannot attack during your next Battle Phase. Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:- This card cannot be destroyed by Level 4 or lower monsters. If this card is destroyed by battle, Special Summon 1 "Agarthan Plane" monster in Attack Position. Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:- As long as this card remains face-up on the field, each time your opponent activates a card effect, you can pay 500 Life Points. If you do, negate the effect. While your Life Points are lower than your opponent's, this card gains 1200 ATK. Effect: This card is also treated as an EARTH monster. Once per turn, during your End Phase, you can remove this card from play. If you do, you can Normal Summon 1 additional time this turn, except Tribute Summon. During your next Standby Phase, return this card to the field in face-up Attack Position. This card gains 100 ATK for each monster Summoned by this card's effect. When this card is removed from the field, remove from play 1 monster Summoned by this card's effect. Effect: This card is also treated as a DARK monster. Once per turn, during your opponent's Standby Phase, select 1 card in your opponent's hand and add it to your hand. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, add 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard to your Deck. Effect: Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle, it is not. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) Each time a non-Machine-Type monster is destroyed by battle, you can pay 400 Life Points. If you do, this card gains DEF equal to the destroyed monster's Level x 200, until your opponent's End Phase. If you activate this effect, this card is switched to Defense Position and this card's battle position cannot be changed until your next Draw Phase. Effect: Each time this card destroys a monster by battle, put 1 Agarthan Counter on this card (Max. 4). This card gains 150 ATK for each Agarthan Counter on this card. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you can remove any number of Agarthan Counters from this card to destroy an equal number of Level 8 or lower non-"Agarthan" monsters on the field. If you do, you must skip your Battle Phase. When this card is destroyed by battle, Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Agarthan" monster from your Deck in Attack Position. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summon by Tributing 4 "Agarthan" monsters you control. This card is treated as an "Agarthan" monster. You can negate the effects of Spell and Trap Cards that designate this card. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If you would receive Battle Damage from a battle involving this card, you can discard 1 card from your hand to make the Battle Damage 0. Any monster that battles with this card is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step. Each time an "Agarthan" monster on you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent. [spoiler=Fusion Monsters] Effect: The Fusion Materials for this card are any 2 Level 5 or higher "Agarthan" monsters you control. This card is also treated as an EARTH monster. This card gains 200 ATK for each face-up "Agarthan" monster on the field. Twice per turn, you can negate the effect of a Spell or Trap Card that designates this card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 of the Fusion Materials from your Graveyard. [spoiler=Synchro Monsters] Effect: 1 Machine-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Agarthan" monstersActivate only when your opponent's monster declares an attack. By removing this face-up card from play, make the Battle Damage taken by 1 "Agarthan" Machine-Type monster 0. When this happens, that monster is not destroyed by battle. When an "Agarthan Warship" is Summoned, you can add this card to your Graveyard from your removed from play pile. [spoiler=Spell Cards] Effect: Remove any number of monsters in your Graveyard from play. Add an equal number of "Agarthan" monsters from your Deck to your hand. During your End Phase, you can Special Summon any Level 4 or lower monsters added by this card's effect. Effect: Once per turn, discard 1 "Agarthan" or "Lemurian" monster from your Deck. Special Summon 1 "Forgotten" monster from your hand, Deck or Graveyard whose Level is equal to or less than the discarded monster's. When this card is removed from the field, remove all monsters Summoned by this card's effect from play. Effect: Discard 3 cards from your hand. Add 1 "Gateway to The Past" from your Deck to your hand. [spoiler=Lemuria][spoiler=Effect Monsters] Effect: This card is also treated as a DARK Spellcaster-Type monster. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, "Lemurian" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) When this card would be removed from the field, you can pay 1200 Life Points. If you do, send all cards on the field and in both players' hands to the Graveyard. This effect can only be used once per Duel. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by Tributing 1 WATER monster you control. This card is treated as a "Lemurian" monster. When this card is destroyed, roll a six-sided die once. Treat your opponent's Monster Card Zone as #'s 1-5, counting from your right. The monster that destroyed this card attacks the monster that is in the same Monster Card Zone as the die result. (If there is no monster in this Monster Card Zone, or if the attacking monster is in this card zone, roll again). If the die result is 6, the monster that destroyed this card attacks your opponent's Life Points directly. Effect: This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by Tributing 3 "Lemurian" monsters you control. This card is also treated as a "Lemurian" WIND Thunder-Type monster. If this card battles an EARTH monster, destroy the monster with this card's effect without applying damage calculation. Activate only when 4 or more of your opponent's Monster or Spell & Trap Card Zones are occupied:- Tribute 1 "Lemurian" monster you control. Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.- Destroy 1 Spell and 1 Trap Card you control. Destroy all Spell & Trap Cards your opponent controls. Effect: This card gains 200 ATK for each WATER monster you control. Once per turn, you can discard 1 Level 4 or lower WATER monster from your Deck. If you do, destroy 1 face-up Level 4 or lower monster on the field. This card is treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a WATER monster. Effect: This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect:- This card is also treated as a Warrior-Type monster. During each of your End Phases, destroy 1 Level 4 or lower non-WATER monster your opponent controls. Effect: This card is also treated as a Winged Beast-Type monster. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a "Lemurian" monster you control as an Equip Spell Card OR unequip the Union equipment and Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, each time the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, Special Summon 1 "Lemuria Token" (Aqua-Type/WATER/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). The equipped monster gains 250 ATK for each "Lemuria Token" on the field. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle, destroy this card instead.) Effect: This card is also treated as a Warrior-Type monster. When this card is Summoned, destroy up to 3 cards your opponent controls. Pay Life Points equal to the total Levels of monsters destroyed by this card's effect x 100. Each time this card destroys a monster by battle, add 1 "Lemurian" monster to your hand from your Deck or Graveyard whose Level is equal to the destroyed monster's. Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card cannot be removed from the field, except by its own effect. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) Each time this card would be removed from the field, put 1 counter on this card (Max. 5). Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can remove any number of counters from this card. Destroy an equal number of Level 5 or lower monsters on your opponent's side of the field. This card is removed from play during the second End Phase after it is Summoned. Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. Each time you Summon a monster, put 1 counter on this card (Max. 2). When this card is removed from the field, destroy a number of face-down Spell or Trap Cards equal to the number of counters on this card. Effect: When this card is Summoned, pay 600 Life Points. This card is also treated as an EARTH monster. When this card is removed from the field, you can remove this card from play to negate the effects of Spell, Trap and Effect Monster Cards that target a Level 6 or higher "Lemurian" monster, until your opponent's End Phase. Effect: This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by Tributing 2 Level 4 or higher WATER monsters you control. This card is treated as a "Lemurian" monster. Once per turn, you can discard 1 Spell or Trap Card from your hand. If you do, destroy all face-down Spell and Trap Cards on the field. During each of your End Phases, you can Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower "Lemurian" monster from your Graveyard. The Summoned monster is destroyed during your opponent's End Phase. Effect: This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by Tributing 2 "Lemurian" monsters you control. This card is treated as a "Lemurian" monster. Each time your opponent activates a Spell or Trap Card, put 1 counter on this card (Max. 8). This card is treated as a "Lemurian" monster. Once per turn, you can discard 2 cards to Special Summon as many Level 5 or lower Sea Serpent-Type monsters as possible from your Deck. A monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot declare an attack and its effect(s) is negated. If this card is targeted by a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's effect, you can Tribute 1 other Sea Serpent-Type monster to negate the effect. [spoiler=Synchro Monsters] Effect: 1 Fish-Type Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersWhen this card is Synchro Summoned, destroy all cards on the field, except this card. Put 1 Manta Counter on this card for each Monster Card destroyed by this card's effect. During each of your End Phases, put 1 Manta Counter on this card (Max. 10). Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you can remove any number of Manta Counters to Special Summon 1 "Lemurian" monster whose Level is equal to the number of removed Manta Counters. Effect: 1 Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more WATER non-Tuner monstersWhen this card is Summoned, Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower "Lemurian" monster from your Graveyard, ignoring the Summoning conditions. The Summoned monster is destroyed during your opponent's next End Phase. By sending this face-up card from the field to the Graveyard, Special Summon any Level 7 or lower "Lemurian" Monster from your Deck. [spoiler=Spell Cards] Effect: Pay 750 Life Points to activate this card. After activation, equip only to a "Lemurian" Spellcaster-Type monster you control. Each time the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, put 1 Freeze Counter on each face-up monster your opponent controls (Max. 1). A monster with a Frost Counter on it cannot declare an attack. During each of your opponent's Standby Phases, your opponent can remove any number of Frost Counters on monsters they control. If they do, your opponent pays Life Points equal to the number of removed Frost Counters x 400. Effect: All "Lemurian" monsters gain 300 ATK and DEF. During each of your End Phases, Special Summon 1 "Reflect Token" (Aqua-Type /WATER /Level 1 /ATK 0 /DEF 0) in face-up Defense Position if possible. Once per turn, if a "Reflect Token" you control is destroyed by battle, you can toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, inflict an amount of damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK of the monster that destroyed the "Reflect Token". Effect: Activate only when a "Lemurian" monster you control is destroyed. Destroy 1 non-WATER monster your opponent controls. If your opponent's monster's Level is higher than your monster's, pay Life Points equal to the Level difference x 600. [spoiler=Trap Cards] Effect: During each player's End Phase, the turn's player must pay Life Points equal to the number of face-up non-WATER monsters they control x 300.
