Azerty-of-KoL
Arohon gazed up at the walls of Stormfire. This was a new beginning for him, hopefully a better one. He heard somebody call out and turned around. "Hello good sir", called out a dwarf wearing armor stamped with the fire symbol. Arohon smiled at him,"So this is the famed city of Stormfire. It's quite impressive." The dwarf smiled back,"Do you need any help getting around the city?" "Actually, could you tell where I can set up shop?" "Sure, follow me." The dwarf walked through the gate and towards the center of the city. He stopped in front of a two-story building and said, "You have to get a license here first, but afterwards, you can set up shop in the marketplace past that alley."Arohon thanked him and preceded into the building. After a couple of minutes of signing forms, he walked out of the licensing office and over towards the marketplace. After unpacking his supplies, Arohon set up his shop. He created a stall by tying a tarp to some wooden poles and setting up a couple of foldable tables. Then he arranged his items for sale. Arohon unpacked a couple of protective pendants and a string of herbs, along with a few other knick-knacks. And now for the most essential part of trading: waiting. Arohon sat down and eyed the crowd for potential customers.
Hydra of Ages
Aaeron waved slightly to a dwarven guard that greeted him on his way into the city, and pulled his cloak tighter around him. The thick fabric hindered how deeply he could breath in, and the heat caused beads of sweat to run down his skin even without the added clothing, but he disregarded them both. There was a more pressing reason why he wanted his clothing as close to him as possible.'I...I FEEL it...' He heard a serpentine voice hiss into his head. He winced as the Dragon, brethren of the flame, raged within his skull. He glanced up at the piller of fire; It had been visible for a long time. It had been the mark from which he had started his pilgrimage. But now that he approached it, he felt himself regretting his decision. He could hear the Dragon within himself panting with barely-contained emotion. Aaeron was no expert in Dragons; before this, he hadn't even known they shared a kinship with the elements. The one that merged with him, of course, seemed to share one with the element of flame; the gigantic pillar before him, the alleged source of all Flame Elements throughout the entire land. The very presence of such a powerful, magical force fed the Dragon's consciousness, making it restless and impatient. It took all of Aaeron's concentration from preventing it from taking over; He shuddered to think what it would be like without his restraining cloak. He reached out in his mind briefly. The Nameless Water Elementist and Ariel seemed so far away; he wasn't sure he would be able to call upon them if he needed them. The grimaced. And if he called on the Dragon, he wasn't sure he'd be able to force it back into his mind after it manifested in his rod. So, he rationalized, he'd best find what Stormfire had to offer quickly. Naimo
By the time Harida had returned, empty-hand, to the entrance of her shop, she saw Jack standing outside. Wondering what he wanted, she approached him. "Excuse me," she said. "Are you waiting for a remedy of some sort, or are you just standing outside my shop?" She had to look up to talk, but she didn't care; she was used to this anyway. She was tall amongst the dwarves, but short amongst humans and even shorter amongst trolls and orcs. Braner
"I am as a matter of fact...I have traveled all over the world and i have heard you are the best when it comes to cures." He replied as he stared down at the dwarf from underneath his hood. "I have a rare disease that no herb can cure, but maybe you can." Jack looked around himself before bending down and whispering to the dwarf. "I would prefer to talk about this inside as there are those who would choose to destroy me or worse." He straightened up and tightened his hood once again so that his face was bearly visible.
Naimo
Harida nodded and opened the door with some difficulty, owing to height problems. She waited until Jack had entered, before she shut and locked it again. She drew up a chair for Jack, then returned behind the counter to grab the stool. She put it down next to Jack and sat down. "So, what is your problem?"
Braner
"Thank you." He said as he sat on the chair which creaked underneath him. "I am cursed with a disease which spawned in the depths of hell itself, every night with a moon which is full I transform into a beast, a killer of man, a destroyer of the land..." He hesitated for a few seconds before he spoke again. " A Werewolf..." He said with a hint of sadness in his voice. He turned away from the Dwarf as he tried to advert her gaze. He prepared himself to run if she turned on him as many has.
Naimo
Hardia leaned forwards slightly, a frown of concentration on her face. "A werewolf, hm? I may have the thing for you, if you can spare about twenty minutes." She got off the stool and entered the storeroom, returning with a handful of dried herbs of different shades. She said nothing as she prepared them, only returning to Jack when she dumped them into the glass full of boiling hot water. "We will have to wait for about ten minutes for that to boil. While we do, I must ask you about your condition if the potion is to be right for you. Tell me everything about you as a werewolf, and where you often go and what you do." Aesirson
Thord and his group reached a gigantic room, just a bit smaller then the pillar room. This room only contained a gigantic, arena-like circle in the middle and small ways outlined around it and a bridge reaching over it, for spectators."This is the Arena of Flames, this is where the championsn of fire fight beasts and eachothers for honor and glory." Golmar explained."It's like the arena back in Havengaard..." A troll said and walked closer to the arena and looked up to the roof. Along the roof there was glass-pipes with lava flowing within it that lightened the room, magically enchanced so that the glass wouldn't be destroyed. Suddenly the room was darkened, and so was the whole city. Altough they couldn't see anything, they could hear Thord's voice in the dark."What just happend!?" He yelled, he didn't sound scared, more like angered."I fear that the pillar does not burn anymore..." The orc said, but as he said it the light came back. "Oh, maybe it was just a minor problem. Come, let's go to Prime Pyromancer Elda and ask."They traveled back to the pillar room, where Elda was standing. She was a Trueborn with long, redblonde hair and glowing blue eyes. She was clothed in a robe of mail-armor with the emblem of fire on her chest. Around her a mass of people had grouped to hear about why the pillar had darkened a minute ago. Braner
"I follow the lunar chart, getting to the most isolated place I can by 2 days notice. This makes sure i don't hurt anyone when I transform. I wake up then when the night is over, no memory of the previous night is left. I usually wake up next to a recently killed animal or even a..... never mind." He stopped his sentence abrubtly to ponder his thoughts. "Yes erm..." He was saved by the bell as the herbs had finished boiling. "So how will this concoction help?" He asked instantley changing the suject.
Naimo
"Wait one moment." Harida got off the stool and switched the fire off. She disappeared in the store room again and did not return for a while. When she came back, she was clutching something which was hidden from view. The glass was taken off the fire, and for a moment nothing happened. Then there was a loud fizzing, and the sound of liquid being poured. Harida reappeared carrying a vial with moon-silver liquid inside. "This potion won't stop the transformation. What it will do is preserve your mind, hence you will be able to control yourself, on the condition you drink it once every day during your the last three before your transformation." Braner
"I see.... so there is no cure. Maybe one day there will be." He said with a smile, a thing that had not embraced his face in years. "Well I thank you for your services." He stood up off the chair. "Now the most important bit of this transaction. How much are you asking for this." He glanced around at the viles and glasses on the shelves in the shop. Suddenly life felt brighter, easier, he began to notcie things he didn't see before. Jsut then the power went out. "What the.." Before he could finish his sentence the lights returned. "What happened??"
Naimo
"The price for the remedy will be ..." She paused, counting the individual price of the herbs. "...150 gold." She waited for Jack's response, then saw the flash. "What was that? I have never seen anything as such before. I think we must see what happened; are you going to come?" she added as she made a move towards the door. "And what is your name, may I ask?" Aesirson
Elda started explaining the situation for teh worried masses."I think we have a minor problem down the core, but we will ahve it fixed in a moment so there's no need to worry." She said and smiled. "Any questions?"A Trueborn raised his hand and Elda nodded at him."What exactly is the problem?" He asked."We don't know, we sent some pyromancers to check it up, but they have yet to return..." She abruptly stopped as the pillar disappeared again, and then a roaring sound could be heard from it's hole and it returned up again, but it was darker and more furiously burning this time, and it blasted small sparks against people around it."What in the name of Hjalmar is this!?" Thord yelled as a spark flew against him, but he eventually deflect it with his hammer."It seems we have a problem..." Elda said and looked at the pillar. Braner
OoC: sorry dissapeared for a bit haha Jack reached into his pocket and pulled out a small dirty pouch which clinked and jingled as it moved. "This should cover the expenditure, and it's Jack by the way" He replied as he handed the pouch to Harida. He followed her out the door back into the street. Nearly everyone outside has chattering about what had just happened. "Now...I wonder whats going on." He thought to himself as he turned to Harida. "Where to then??" Hydra of Ages
Aaeren winced as the Dragon in his mind gave a great howl of rage before retreating into the deepest recesses of his brain. He cried out in anguish briefly, clutching his head, before breathing a sigh of relief and standing up straight again, politely brushing off concerned citizens that had been trying to help him. He paused for a few seconds, then blinked as he found his head clear and uncluttered. The dragon really had retreated. "But why?" he muttered to himself, before blinking in shock as he noticed the presence of Flame was no longer around. There was nothing in sky to hint that a majestic pillar had ever been there before. "What's this?" He mouthed to himself, shuffling his feet, before taking off at a sprint towards where the fire pillar had once burnt.
shadowferret
"Bloody--!" Diego jumped back as the pillar arose from the ground again, spraying cinders upon him. He fell over and landed on his shield, sending a jolt through his body. When the first flash had occurred, he rushed to the source to see what was going on. Bored, he had nothing better to do. He rushed to the front of the crowd to see if he could find the person who ran the pillar. A Trueborn stood at the head, with the Troll King talking to her, towering over her. "Hey, what exactly's going on here?" And if I can get a job out of this, then all the better...
Lunar Roze
Katrina wondered about more, following th list of jobs on the paper. All of them were small jobs. She didn't expect much though. Several times she had to ask for directions. KAtrina hated depending on others, but she had to this time. She didn't know her way around. She saw several people of most, if not all races of all different apperances. Not many in this town seem to know who she truely was though and that was what she had hoped for. IT would cause problems if anyone knew.
Otaku-sama
Senennith left the herb shop, leaving it in a mess after opening every pot. He immediately noticed that the massive pillar of fire was gone."Hmmm...? This could mean only one thing...The icy chalice of Newborn is nearby!"Senennith dashed down the street in the direction of the pillar, laughing like a madman. Aesirson
OoC: Sorry for the late post. As the pillar started burning again it spread sparks around it, hitting the mass of people, damaging several citizens and the unhurted ones started running towards their homes and shops to hide in. The Fire Elementist, the troll king's soldiers and various adventurers stayed. Suddenly, the pillar stopped once again, and the whole city was darkened."Why does this keep happening?" Thord yelled in the darkness.A faint light could be seen from the pillars hole, and the king walked closer to look down it."Somethings climbing up the walls against us!" He said, looking down there, and indeed there was burning, skelleton-like creatures climbing the walls reaching for the hole. Elda walked up to the hole and looked down, seeing the creatures."Crowchild..." She whispered."Who?" The king said. "That kid from earlier?" He turned to the orc that had guided them earlier, who was nearly invisible in the darkness. Golmar nodded at the question. "Do you think he have something to do with this?" He turned to Elda again. She nodded and turned to her fellow Elementists, and lighted a fire with her magical powers so that they could see in the darkness that surrounded them."Fellow pyromancers and adventurers..." She said, and then turned turned to the troll king. "...and trolls of course." She turned to the main mass again. "The things that is crawling up from the depths looks anything but friendly, so if you are enough skilled with steel and magic me and my soldiers would be more then happy to fight by your side!""We will fight!" The trolls yelled and raised their weapons in the air. "Those things will learn not to play with a troll!"Elda nodded at the furious northlings. "Anyone else?" She then asked. Lunar Roze
Katrina witnessed the whole scene. She sighed. She wouldn't make any money of it, but her warrior instincts told her to do this because of her honor. She boldly walked towards Elda. "I will join if you will have me. I have been trained well." Katrina bowed in respect. Even if she was rejected, she would not give up. Katrina was not one to give up easily. "I'm getting myself into some deep waters. Well, time for some fun in life." She thought to herself in her mind.
shadowferret
Diego had brushed himself off rather quickly, but almost fell down again when he saw the gruesome flaming skeletons. Everything about them scared him -- from their fleshless burning faces to the very way they crawled. He backed away slowly, then rethought his idea of retreating. "Been a while since I've been in a real battle, actually..." He listened as the Elementalist made her battle cries. He reached behind and grabbed the large shield. Placing it in front of him, he kneeled slightly, making it so the huge metal weapon covered him from neck to knee. "I'd be honoured to join in this battle." He stepped to the front of the crowd, right in front of the Elementalist. "I shall shield those who need it, and heal those who are injured. It would be my pleasure!" Otaku-sama
Senennith entered the main square on the opposite side of where a troll was rallying the townsfolk. He crept up for a closer look at where the pillar of fire used to be and saw firey skeletons climbing out of the hole."This cannot be happening! The minions of Mionthar the Age have come to assimilate the believers! I must stop this before the Ragnarhar is released!"Senennith began to chant a very long mantra while concentrating his magic to his staff.
Hydra of Ages
Aaeren blinked in shock as apparently fiery undead seemed to crawl upward from the hole that the beam of fire once erupted from. They seemed unnatural creatures, for more reasons than one. He didn't hear the rallying cries, but retreated deep into his own mind anyway. He'd need a way to fight back against them; considering they seemed made of Fire, the Dragon was out. He needed something for full combat, so the Nameless Elementist was also out too. That left... "Ariel." He whispered, as white light tapered over his Channeling rod, transforming it into a wide fan-like object.
