Windows Taskbar

Exiro

Recommended Posts

So I was trying to close an explorer window in this poorly designed Operating System called 'Windows XP' that I am forced to use due to hardware and software compatibility when Mr. so-called-'experienced' decided not listen to me. I didn't feel like being impatient for an OS failing in doing such a simple task, and decided to show this guy who's the boss and closed explorer.exe by force with the Task Manager.

It worked, but I also lost my taskbar.

However, I can still use alt + tab to go to another process and I can access 'Launch' to open any program I need. I think I like it better this way.

Can anyone tell me what's the point of a taskbar again?

1- Don't use IE.

2- The taskbar is there for people inexperienced with computers who don't know how to use hotkeys' date=' if you know how to, there's really no point for having it there.

I like it there just because I used to it, but if you want it gone, it's your choice.

Exactly' date=' again you misunderstand my post.

I am saying that if you know how to find things without the taskbar, using the launch function, or other various hotkey functions, you don't need the taskbar.

No, you said "there's really no point in having it there".

Okay' date=' since you seem to be incapable of correctly understanding my post, I am going to stop trying to explain it.

On-topic: Thanks Maikitsu for the link, I had been meaning to download that, but was too lazy to find it myself, now I have it on my computer.

Oh, I've understood all of your posts. It's just what you're saying now is different to your original post.

Thanks for the completely off-topic and irrelevant advice. Allow me to give completely off-topic and irrelevant advice in return. Don't bump your car into a tree.

The task bar is part of Windows Explorer.

Just reopen Task Manager' date=' run a new program, and type in explorer or explorer.exe.

But when I do that, I get my taskbar back.

Most of the time, when people are forced to do X, they also actually do X.
