Question is what is the question...

AbbatonStrikes

Question

I think this is an interesting enquiry when do you use Question Marks in the ATK/DEF part and when do you use Zeros???

Example:

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Great_Maju_Garzett

This has zeros onm both ATK and DEF points as the increase is determind by the cards effect.

BUT

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Maju_Garzett

This card also has its ATK points controlled by its effect, so why is one a 0 and the other a ?

Could someone explain so I know which one to use!!

Cheers

It doesn't matter. OCG is bullcrap' date=' because Konami can't keep consistency in their cards. Use either.

So very true.

But generally speaking, 0 in itself is an ATK/DEF, that is later changed. ? simply means that it doesn't have an ATK/DEF, and needs to be determined by its card effect.

If ? is not changed by a card effect, it is still considered 0. Go figure.

in the case of the question mark and zero if you read the effect only the ATK is determined so the DEF is always zero but tha ATK can change.

The Tributing and Effect rules are true.

However, the main difference is that ? ATK/DEF monsters cannot be searched for by cards that are based on ATK/DEF like "Sangan" or "Mystic Tomato", while 0 ATK/DEF monsters can.

It's a subtle restriction that limits some cards' useablity by making them harder to get into your hand.
