You really think if there were no religion, people wouldn't go to war? Religion just provides a handy excuse, nothing more. If religion didn't exist, people would simply find another reason. Do you honestly believe that every knight who went on the Crusades did it for God? Try the fact that the Muslims were filthy rich because they sat on some major trade routes (ie, the Silk Road), or the fact that many of the knights claimed land after they defeated the Muslims in the area. Or perhaps that knights are born and trained to fight, and having them all sit around in their own country would just lead to them fighting....each other. Why not give them an outlet that would actually serve the Church's purpose? There are dozens of ulterior motives to any religious war. Stop taking things at face value. Your taking this discussion exactly where I wanted it to go. But your persuasiveness is a bit over-powered, making it seem like you are trying to make Belail look foolish. How about you try responding to his statement with a sense of respect. But other then that you have brought that part of the discussion from blaming Religion, to put the spot light on how humans use out side sources - airgo religion- as a reason for their actions. They have made many people lazier (like me but I'm getting over with it with 4+ mile runs/jogs and alot of workout), more violent, more computer reliant for almost everything (it just seems like books are starting to go obsolete terribly), and have made America 33% obese due to those inventions. My grammar, punctuation and spelling is quite fine. If there are any mistakes it is because my keyboard sucks and IE doesn't have Spell Check, or at least the version I am using. Jobs that are being replaced by machines, are jobs done by immigrants, or people working for wages below minimum wage. This happens out side of the illegal boundary. I mean look at the Auto Workers, they have been working for a good 40 years now. But company after company either is bought out, or goes bankrupt. Couldn't it be argued that the company isn't replacing their workers with machines to steal from the workers, but to keep their company afloat? Capitalism (according to my brother) is important, as it is incentive driven, so, there is an incentive to invest more in technology, as it is a highly competitive market. (I don't understand econ, sorry.) Where as Socialism, is labor driven. We are in what we call a "social contract". The working households provide the firms (industries) with a market.
