It can. You've hit the key argument' date=' it ends up being Socialism vs Capitalism. Capitalism (according to my brother) is important, as it is incentive driven, so, there is an incentive to invest more in technology, as it is a highly competitive market. (I don't understand econ, sorry.)

Where as Socialism, is labor driven. We are in what we call a "social contract". The working households provide the firms (industries) with a market. So, the market should award us by providing us all with jobs.

If you really want a real discussion, PM my brother Arc.

I would rather keep discussion public. So that everyone may join.

I'll tell him to join... but he'll probably side with you.

I am sorry, but I believe you are mistaken. I am not taking any side. I am trying to remain nuetral in all of my discussions. I find it easier that way for people to exress their own opinions.

It kinda does summarize philosophy to a whole' date=' at least to someone who doesn't study it extensively anyway. Philo = Love, Sophia = Learning, Philosophy is the "medium" between science and religion, so to speak.

How long did it take you to find that on google? I say that because you just said you didn't study Philosophy, and to know the disection of the word would require more than a moderate interest in Philosophy.

You called Andrei?

Is this an interesting debate? I wanna join!

What's it about?

EDIT: Okay. So it's about the reasons big corporations exist?

No, actually it is about Man's Inventions and if you think a new problem is created for each new invention. Your bother was stating that he thinks the Invention of Capitalism has caused greed. I asked him to explain further.

Capitalism does not cause greed. Capital is a material "medium" I would call it. You can exchange capital (profit) for goods and services.

Since a human has unlimited wants that can be satisfied with goods, he works with the incentive that he can satisfy the most goods possible.

Greed is not "created" from capitalism, greed is existent in all human beings regardless of government form. However, some forms, like capitalism, promote the accumulation of wealth (capital) better than others.

Explain why you think the Interenet is problem of man's inventions. It's one thing to say it, but can you back it up? ;)

We had an intelligent conversation... someone just has to go and screw it up.

People are allowed to voice their opinion. The topic is very broad and cannot be narrowed to one thing by itself.
