Regardless of how you see it, if things aren't real, then how did they ever come into folklore and myths anyways? The answer is either someone saw a vivid image of one or a few before in their lifetime and then recorded it down thus when heard by the people themselves from this person they would all think this person is crazy and so forth. It would also go the same for Gilgamesh; scientists are still arguing over if he was an existing person or not. The people nowadays are just taking an idea that has existed since the beginning of man and using it for entertainment towards the wider population and to generate revenue for themselves. It could sometimes reflect that they actually have a belief in that kind of stuff when it comes to it thus making them create a film or book on it. Even without proof, anything like this is possible, to the wider population they don't except it because they see it as a threat to their beliefs, theirselves, and their daily lifestyles (I know this I've done personal reports with friends, peers at school, and some random people from the mall for a report on if people believe that some kind of supernatural exists in this world). They just either laugh at it or say things like "Are you crazy?" because they're arrogant and usually won't accept supernatural things as the truth. They're scared that if they believe in it, it might really exist and bring a downfall to the ones they love or even mankind as a whole. It really brings fear into people. Here are a few examples:They can't turn into bats, they aren't "gorgeous" or dead ugly [or fiendish looking. They look like humans, only with minor adjustments in ability and skill], and they don't have to be shielded from light. Like I said before, I really don't care what you beleive.
