We learn from words, words learn from us. There is also a way to enhance the power of words. This power is wielded only by a secret group of people, a powerful underground organization. Are you brave enough to join them?[/align] [spoiler=[i]A History of the Secrets of Alaznan[/i] by Bareth Golred]Alaznan,our amazing home. Ruled by the Kastall family for centuries and centuries, Alaznan's walls have survived countless attacks and raids. Alaznan has been envied by many of the surrounding countries. As most know, there many magical beasts living in the secluded corners of Alaznan. Most people think that magic only exists in those creatures, unharnessable by humans. But there is a different kind of magic, used by humans who have spent years training and perfecting the art. This magic is based and created with words. The people who perfected this magic banded together and created an organization called the Society of Script. Many famous people in history were rumored to have learned this art. In fact, it was said that the magic was taught to the Kastall family. Supposedly, that's how they stayed on the throne so long. The Society travels by night and watches over the nation. But there is also a rumored group, severed from The Society, who pledges to spread evil and chaos called the 'Forsaken'. It is said that these members were cast off for using their power for their own gain. I highly doubt the existence of these 'Forsaken', as the facts of their existence are almost completely comprised of bar gossip. He doesn't interact with other people much and will usually be reading instead. He has a perpetually gloomy expression and you can never tell what he is thinking. ---Bio(How you got to The Society)---Corvus grew up in an orphanage. He was found on the side of a road, in a box, by the owner of the orphanage. They could never find his parents and couples looking to adopt were put off by his cheerless expression. He didn't have any friends in the orphanage and usually spent his time with his nose in a book. Corvus' life was uneventful as he grew up, but one day, a mysterious man appear at the orphanage. To Corvus' surprise, this mysterious man adopted him! He introduced himself as Derek Lakarn of The Forsaken. Derek explained about the Forsaken. He told Corvus that if he joined them, and let them teach him magic, he could have wealth and power beyond his dreams. Corvus agreed immediately and was blindfolded and taken to The Forsaken's school for the magic of Script. Luis has short black hair that seems rather unkempt, and his dark brown eyes compliment a dark brown skin tone. He has a rather slender body, not being very muscley. Usually, he is seen wearing black, white, or any mix of the two.---Personality---Luis is an average person in social situations, not talking too much nor being completely quiet. He loves to read books, and acts a little bit older than his age. For this reason he relates well to others older than him, but this doesn't mean he can't relate to people his own age. Luis is only slightly more intelligent than others, but his goofy and silly personality can sometimes fool people into thinking he is completely stupid. He tries his best to keep a smile on his face and tries to make others smile, but in reality the smile he dons is mostly a fake. He has horrible luck in love, and bears a lot of scars from women in his life. For this reason he has tried using the art of words to try and alter his luck, and for that same reason he has been Forsaken.---Bio(How you got to The Society)---A relatively old recruit, he was "discovered" at the age of eighteen. His family didn't really seem to care that The Strange Man wanted to take him away from them to enroll him in some odd private school. He took Luis out to a secluded area and began to quiz him on everything before any real lessons were taught. Sure, he taught him the basic concepts between the Magic of Script, but not enough to do any real damage. Luis was instantly turned away once he stated his intentions."I want to use this to make a girl fall in love with me. I'm tired of having my heart crushed and thrown into the trash by every woman I meet."The Man couldn't allow someone with such a selfish reason into his school, and had to turn him away. Another Mysterious Man had been watching, though, and grabbed Luis before The Strange Man could do anything with him. After a few explanations and a small trip later, the Mysterious Man had successfully recruited Luis into the school for the Forsaken, with promises of fortune and luck in love. The is slender but surprisingly agile and active. Usually wears a hoodie with some book or another in his pocket. ---Personality---Sarcastic, curious, smart, lonely, often seen as aloof, somewhat shy and afriad to meet new people, drawn to females but often akward around them. He is actually a fun loving person who opens up to those who he is close to to. When around others, he tends to be withdraw. Because he spent most of his time with children two or so years older than himself and almost all his time between ten and 16 around adults, he relate better to them. His vocabulary and wording often appear a bit strange to people his own age. He is fond of adventure, fantasy and science fiction novels and science journals, often combining the knowledge to create bizzare things.---Bio---Dan was exposed to reading at a young age. He always enjoyed it and soon expanded his horizons to books usually considered far above his level. He was raised by a single mother and never met his father. After only a few years in school, his mother became ill and bedridden. Though he was only ten, he dropped out of school and, using his the friendships formed with the workers, started working in the library.He borrowed many books at a time, mostly medical texts witha few interests of his own and treated his mother himself for nearly six years. During this time, he also taught himself the basics of several matial arts and several foriegn languages, among other more trivial skills (such as lockpicking and card tricks).One day, while organizing and sorting a new load of books, he stumbled across a section of a book refering to A History of the Secrets of Alaznan. Shortly after that, he was approached by representitives from the society. At first he refused, but when they offered to place his mother in a good medical facility and he agreed to attend.
