HORUS
I'm confused. Why exactly is gay marriage illegal? Thanks in advance for clearing things up for me, guys.
Blamonchesix
Under church laws, it desecrates the sanctity of marriage.

Dad
I personally don't see anything wrong with it, but those who are extremely religious (though I am myself) may have a problem with it. I think places have it banned because they may see it as immoral or because of desecration to marriage, or something.

TAG
I'm confused. Why exactly is gay marriage illegal? Thanks in advance for clearing things up for me' date=' guys.[/quote'] Because people are hypocrites who say that it's bad when people discriminate against black people, but more often than not discriminate against gay people. Yeah, we're stupid like that. Under church laws' date=' it desecrates the sanctity of marriage.[/quote'] And what about Separation of Church and State? I personally don't see anything wrong with it' date=' but those who are extremely religious (though I am myself) may have a problem with it. I think places have it banned because [b']they may see it as immoral or because of desecration to marriage[/b], or something. I've always wanted to ask these people "What's so immoral about it?" Then I'd say, "Wait a minute, aren't you the same people that hate Pokemon because it promotes evolution, depsite the fact that under that assumption, Pokemon got it all wrong? Then screw you guyz." Because the bible says so... Speaking of which, doesn't the Bible also tell people to accept anyone no matter what they believe? I smell contradiction! HORUS
1. The Bible does not say that gay marriage is wrong. It says, "Thou shalt not lie with another man as you would with a woman," and that is the only mention of homosexuality. It doesn't say, "Thou shalt not marry another man." It just says you can't have vaginal intercourse with him. 2. America is supposed to be a secular state, as decided by the founding fathers. They put a lot of effort into saying that there should be no official religion established anywhere. This being the case, the Bible's passages, however misconstrued, should not be used to justify making the status of gay marriage illegal. i love how HORUS made a thread that induced religious flaming without speaking a word about religion. :D
Guest JoshIcy
Seriously Kramer... You KNOW this answer already. While we are supposed to separate Religion and State, you cannot deny that even in this age and centuries to come. Religion will play a large and vital role in everything. Since it was so heavy on the "No Gay Marriage" thing; guess what? Gay Marriage was made illegal. Simple as that. And surely a man of your stature could grasp this without making a mockery of yourself as you have. (Not going to lock yet, you do have a right to get in a word in edge wise). It's not supposed to play a role in politics, as laid down in the constitution.

You go out in the world, go to your political office of choice (wherever that building may be) and you go discuss it with people who spend a living working on human interaction. This interaction was obviously DRASTICALLY affected when Gay Marriage was rallied against by the church and this law came into effect. This is common sense, but you still try. I won't give you that chance until there's something that you can try to discuss that takes more brainpower than a curious chimp. So one more time to say something that can add to this... ONE MORE. And don't give me textbook facts.

You're not answering my question, or even bringing up more discussion. You didn't ask a question, and I didn't intend to bring anything else to the discussion due to a want to keep the discussion on topic. This is common sense [what is?], but you still try [trying what?]. So one more time to say something that can add to this... ONE MORE [what?]. And don't give me textbook facts [want me to argue on an opinionated basis?]. I'm having a hard time deciphering what point exactly you are trying to make.
