Skyson
The deck I'm taking to Regionals Sunday. It seems that I play Ben Kei a little differently than most. Hidden Armory is too good. Monsters: 11x3 Armed Samurai - Ben Keix2 Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotivex2 Krebonsx2 Mystic Tomatox1 Sanganx1 Spirit Reaper Spells: 14x2 Allure of Darknessx1 Giant Trunadex1 Heavy Stormx3 Hidden Armoryx3 Mage Powerx1 Shooting Star Bow - Cealx3 Upstart Goblin Traps: 15x2 Dark Bribex1 Mirror Forcex3 Reckless Greedx1 Royal Oppressionx3 Threatening Roarx1 Torrential Tributex3 Wabokux1 Wall of Revealing Light Extra Deck: 1x1 Turbo Cannon Side Deck: 15x2 Jowgen the Spiritualistx1 Mystical Space Typhoonx3 Swords of Concealing Lightx2 Twisterx1 United We Standx1 Dark Bribex2 Royal Oppressionx3 Trap Stun Explanations can be given as reactions are put up, since most of the things are self-explanatory when looked at. The only thing I'm going to point out is that I am only playing 4 Equip Spells. They are the only 4 that matter. Yes, Hidden Armory is that good. Ben Kei has been one of the most fun OTKs for me. It can be played in such a manner that nothing ever hits the field until it's too late to stop it. Once the backrows are cleared or locked up, Ben Kei and the necessary equips come down and end the game. I have never summoned Ben Kei without knowing full well that I am going to win that turn. Doing otherwise recklessly will result in self-destruction. Does it make me easier to bluff? Sure. But bad players don't bluff, and there aren't a lot of good players floating around anymore. I'm taking this to my regional Sunday and plan on having a good ol' time. Another note, 2 Mage Power + Star Bow = gg. 2500 ATK, attacks 4 times directly. 10000 damage, so I can even get away with 2 Upstart Goblin. (: I'm considering maindecking the MST so I'm not forced to rely on Storm/Trunade on my turn to go for the kill. Comments, criticism, and general feedback would be appreciated. Spiff!
Maybe find room for Don Zaloog? He can abuse the power the Equips give him, and he's Tomatable.
Skyson
...I am playing 4 Equips. They go on Ben Kei. He kills people with them. Don Zaloog would be a waste of Equips. This deck is set to do pretty much nothing but turtle and draw until Ben Kei is in the hand and ready to funk.
Dark_Armed_Zombie
I'm confused at how you synchro for Turbo Booster if you don't have Turbo Rocket, the required tuner, otherwise the deck looks fine to me :? Edit: How long does it usually take to OTK on average? I realize speeding it up may cause it to lose consistency, but I'm just wondering because we may be able to speed it up but keep consistency; however, if it's already fairly fast then we won't really want to worry about speeding it up but worry about making it consistent, which I'm sure it already is if your track record with it is correct. Skyson
xD. I have Turbo Cannon as my one card extra deck to make it look like I actually have an Extra Deck. I was gonna add a bunch of random low level fusions like Karbonala Warrior and stuff, but decided not to. Total mind games. [:
Dark_Armed_Zombie
Ok, I was very confused XD btw, I editted in a question about the speed of the deck in my last postEdit: How long does it usually take to OTK on average? Skyson
Well, more conventional Ben Kei decks will say that they will go all out and manage their OTK within five turns or it's too slow. I've discarded this ideology and basically set it to my own pace. Really, I don't OTK for a while. I OTK when I'm ready to drop everything. Stalling out until I've got it all is what I'm concerned with. The speed build is a bit too reckless for my tastes, and anything that would shut down a part of starting combos will destroy it. This build is made so that getting shut down isn't a factor. Some ideas have floated around in my head, but I may eventually just crack and build a speed-oriented Deck. Both have their pros and cons, of course. Speed vs. stability is the main issue.

[:[/quote'] If you're going to do this, it needs to be 15 or close to 15, so nobody catches on. Most will go for a 15-card Extra Deck anyways. 1-card Extra Decks stand out a bit too much for the sort of thing you're trying to do. Also, as Krebons is already here, you may has well have SOMETHING you can Synchro Summon to help you stall out the game, as you've stated that it's your plan. Colossal comes to mind, being able to endlessly revive itself and dodge Oppression while doing so as well, also adding Kei revival if it's ever necessary. I thought RotA was a given here, though I might be missing something. Finally, something that I always recommend in something focusing around equips. Krebons itself is a staller in my mind. I was honestly considering running a Telekinetic Charging Cell just for combos with Hidden Armory and equipping it to him for free attack negation. lolol. I thought RotA was a given here, though I might be missing something. Something as in the fact that Ben Kei is the only target? I would either run 3 Ben Kei or 2 Ben Kei and RotA. I'm running 3 Ben Kei because I'm also running Allure of Darkness, for which spare Ben Kei are a viable target. It seems like it belongs in here, but really, drawing Ben Kei with all of the draw cards and stalling I do, is not a problem. The better I can do to keep the OTK hidden from the opponent (i.e. "RotA for Ben Kei" giving away the whole thing) then the better the surprise can be [at least game 1]. Finally, something that I always recommend in something focusing around equips. Since you didn't recommend Golden Bamboo Sword alongside this I assume you were joking. The Broken/Golden Bamboo Sword combo is an awkward idea that has gained some stability in the explosive speed builds with the release of Hidden Armory. I don't particularly like it, and unless I decide in the near future to crack and convert my build to the more explosive speed build, I'll probably try the Bamboo Combo out. <_< Thanks. BehindTheMask
Rota? Sunlight Unicorn? Looks good though. I used to play Ben Kei when it came out. Such a fun deck.
