Gantz (MA)

(When it refers to mod that will be me, I will also control the aliens[/align] and Gantz.)

Plot: You just died and you ended up in a room with a big black sphere in the middle of it. You are with others in the room that also recently died too.

The featureless black sphere known as "Gantz". After some time in the room, the Gantz sphere opens up, revealing a bald naked man with a breathing mask and wires attached to his head, and three racks protruding from it, that offer various items for them to use. These include the custom fitting black suits Gantz makes for each of them, giving them supernatural abilities, a controller which act as a radar and stealth unit, and three types of guns. When the Gantz sphere opens, green text appears on its surface, informing those present that their "lives have ended and now belong" to him. A picture and brief information is shown of some of the Gantz Targets, Gantz ordering them to go and kill them. All but one target shown thus far, have been aliens living on Earth, which take on a wide variety of forms. After a period of time which varies between missions, everyone except Gantz are transported to the location of the mission.

Those sent cannot return from the mission until all enemies have been killed, or the time limit has run out. If they survive a successful mission, each individual is awarded points for the aliens they have killed. They are then allowed to leave, and live their lives as they see fit until Gantz summons them back again for the next mission. The only way to stop having to participate in the missions is to earn one hundred points, and choose the option to be freed.

Rules:

Point Caps:

Per hunt, the max a hunter can get is 100 pts in addition to what they already earned in previous hunts.

Combat:

Modified T1 Rule Set: Semi-Turn Based, No Auto, Text Driven Combat System, which means...

Semi-Turn Based: You and an alien will go back and forth with offensive/defensive moves. If you miss posting a day, the alien will still move.

No auto: An auto is anything at all that you describe as happening to your opponent/another player. It is each characters job and right to decide on and describe for themselves what happens to them. Mods can only determine what you do as far as you cannot control. (IE if you do get hit in a certain direction a mod can say that you are forced in the direction by the impact of the punch, but a mod cannot switch your intentions or will to do normal actions. The mod also determines death).

Text-Driven: An offensive move will be typed, but you have the opportunity to defend or deal with that situation. The same goes the other way around. The better you type your moves, the better chance you have of success, on top of other factors.

Pm the Mod: For pvp-based or stealth enhanced situations you will be allowed to pm the mod your post. This way the other roleplayers in the room cannot see your move. Possibly giving you an edge in battle. This is optional and the post will be expected to follow the same rules and regulations as any normal post.

Success of actions:

Mods determine the success or failure of an action by answering these question:

1. Is it possible in real physics?

2. Is it possible in Gantz physics?

3. Is it possible with your character?

4. Is it possible the way you describe it?

The first two have to be a yes. The third being a no may result in an undesirable action. If the fourth is a no there will be a lot of room for failure. So make sure you don't describe things too vaguely, but don't make them too complicated either.

General:

Stay Active. Your character may die due to inactivity. Mods will post once a day at a regular time. If you know you will be inactive, give permission for someone or the mod to control your character and give the mod a notice. If a character goes inactive for extended period of time (which is decided by the mod) without a notice, the mod may do as he/she sees fit with the character. Most of the times this means a very embarrassing death.

Characters:

1. Create a character according to the character template in the Gantzers board. Multiple characters are allowed, but only one will be accepted for each individual Mission!

2. If your character is approved it will be moved to the sub-board New Gantzers. There you will await to be transfered to a Mission.

3. The character awaiting transfer for the longest period will be chosen first. You will get a notice after your character is transferred to a mission

4. If your character survives a mission, your character may be modified until once again called for a Gantz mission.

5. If your character dies during a mission, you may create a new character and repeat the same process.

6. If your character dies during a mission, your character will be placed in Gantz's memory and is subject to revival. If revived, you may continue to play that character. If the original owner of a revived character is no longer active you may be roleplay his/her character.

Posts

1. All In Character posts must be in 3rd person.

2. Keep Out Of Character posts in the mission at a minimum.

3. Make actions realistic in Gantz Mechanics. You can do amazing things that are unrealistic, but with a gantz suit you are not god. See Gantz Mechanics for more info.

4. Godmodding is not allowed, meaning you are only allowed to post your own actions and not of other players, NPC’s or aliens. You post your intention and the mod decides the outcome. Wrong example:’’Kurono points the X-Gun at the alien’s head and blows his head out.’’ Good example:’’Kurono points the X-Gun at the alien’s head and fires.’’

5. Be descriptive as possible. Describe setting, sense of direction, detailed action, thoughts. Even something as small as a blink can have an effect. Don't take this too far, however.

6. There is a spell check, use it! Make sure your post is readable and understandable. It makes things hard for the mod to actually figure out what is going on if you don't spell it right.

Forums in detail

Gantz

1. You always start in the Gantz apartment.

2. You may post your move before or after any character. There is no particular order.

3. Continue to only post one move between mod posts. Dialogue and unimportant actions may have multiple posts (mainly in the room).

4. The mod will post an update of successful and failed moves everyday. This time may vary.

5. If the mod posts before you post, your character will have not done anything at all. The post will be for the next turn.

6. Once a mission is over, there will be point allocation. The total can always be found in the Gantz Memory(if certain Mods update them)

7. Once the mission is over we will skip that day and go to the next Gantz Mission day.

Weapons:

Gantz Suit: Gantz Suit: When the Gantz ball opens, the rack that appears at the back of Gantz, contains cases with everyone's name on them. Inside they find a suit which is attuned to an individual body and can only be utilized by that specific Hunter. The suits are tight to a point that the wearer cannot put it on with any kind of underwear. These suits provide the wearer with incredible strength, speed, endurance, and the ability to jump very high, as well as land without problems thanks to the shoes which are seen to release a white smoke to cushion one returning from a high jump. The suit also provides the hunter with an almost impenetrable protection to his/her body, even to the head, which is fully exposed. Large caliber bullet rounds to the face do not leave so much as a bruise. It should be noted, however, that the suit only seems to protect from blunt attacks such as bullets and punches, but does not seem to do anything for slicing attacks like from a sword or laser. When in full use, the suits' artificial muscles expand, making the Hunter appear larger. In terms of strength, they can easily lift over fifty times their weight and jump well over thirty feet high. However, the amount of damage it can sustain is limited. Should the suit receive too many powerful impacts without time to recover, the "caps" along the suit will break, releasing the essential substance that powers it, rendering it as useful as ordinary clothes.

Controller: Called a controller in the Gantz manual, it is commonly referred to as a radar throughout the series, although it has other functions. It is a device used to track the targets, displaying the targets as well as fellow team mates on its screen. However, the marker on the radar is not very precise and has created many situations in which the Hunters ran into trouble pinpointing the exact number and location of the targets. These are found in one of the weapon racks that is revealed when the Gantz ball opens. They allow for changing of someone's frequency, rendering them invisible to those not on the same frequency. This allows them to turn invisible to other people.

X-Gun:(X-gun Pic) The X-gun is a small handgun-sized weapon, that gets its name from the four protrusions around the barrel that spread out like an "X" when fired. The X-gun uses compressed energy as its ammo. It fires until it hits something, then explodes inside the target after a delay. A drawback to this weapon is that it has a significant time delay between the triggers being pressed and the projectile being fired/impacting the target, during which the enemy can easily dodge it, use an object as a shield, or kill the wielder. It features an X-ray monitor in the back.

X-Rifle:(X-rifle Pic) This weapon is similar to the X-Gun in almost every respect in terms of functionality. However, the X-Rifle is meant for longer range, has higher accuracy, and a sniper scope.

Y-Gun:(Y-gun Pic) It is a handgun that has the same lock-on capabilities of the X-Gun, but rather than fire out an explosive payload, it instead launches three "laser anchors" connected by ropes. This wraps around the target, securely tying them up, before the anchors are buried into the ground. Once this is done, the target can be sent away, by the same fax like method Gantz uses to transfer the hunters to and from missions. It is not known if they are simply sent and never made to reappear anywhere else, or sent off to some unknown location where they presumably die.

Gantz Sword: The only melee weapon revealed so far. It is a katana-like weapon that is usually in a closed hilt-only state. When in use, an incredibly sharp blade extends from the hilt. It can extend without loss of durability and it is unknown if its length is limited; currently it has only been extended to roughly 30 feet. A stack of these swords is seen in a room next to the main room, which only opens after the Gantz ball does.

I will reveal the 100 pointer weapons when we get to that point in the story.
