Basically, "Firewave" monsters are cards that use Firewave Counters to activate one of three effects. Probably not all that special, but the concept of putting Firewave Counters on other gives the potential for a network of abilities that will keep your opponents on their toes.

"Firewave" Monsters:

[spoiler=Sneak Peek at an Upcoming Card]150016.jpg

[spoiler=Effect as of now (still in the works)]As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all monsters that you can put Firewave counters on gain 300 ATK for each Firewave Counter on them. During each of your Standby Phases, put 1 Firewave Counter on this card (max. 3). During your Main Phase 1, you can activate one of the following effects by removing the corresponding number of Firewave Counters from this card:

1 - Draw 2 cards

Please send your ideas for effects!

[spoiler=Effect]Each time your opponent activates a Spell Card (if it targets this card, its effect is negated), put 1 Firewave Counter on this card (max. 3). During your Main Phase 1, you can activate one of the following effects by removing the corresponding number of Firewave Counters from this card:

1 - This card gains 500 ATK and 300 DEF, until the End Phase.

2 - Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower FIRE monster from your hand or Graveyard. That monster cannot declare an attack or use its effect(s) during this turn.

3 - Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Level of the destroyed monster x 200. Skip your Battle Phase this turn.

[spoiler=Effect]Each turn, instead of Summoning a monster, you can put 1 Firewave Counter on this card (max. 3). During your Main Phase 1, you can activate one of the following effects by removing the corresponding number of Firewave Counters from this card:

1 - Put one Firewave Counter on a face-up card on the field that you can put a Firewave Counter on.

2 - Inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each FIRE monster on the field.

3 - Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field. If it is a Trap Card, both players search their Decks and remove all Trap Cards with the same name from play.

[spoiler=Effect]Each time your opponent Summons a monster or flips a monster face-up, put 1 Firewave Counter on this card (max. 3). During your Main Phase 1, you can activate 1 of the following effects by removing the corresponding number of Firewave Counters from this card:

1 - All FIRE monsters on the field gain 500 ATK and lose 600 DEF.

2 - Put 1 Firewave Counter on any 2 face-up cards that you can put a Firewave Counter on.

3 - Flip all monsters on the field face-up. If 1 or more Flip Effect Monsters are flipped face-up by this effect, toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, negate the effects of all Flip Effect Monsters flipped face-up by this effect and destroy them.

Other Monsters:

[spoiler=Moonbeam Dragon, Bringer of Twilight]150016.jpg

[spoiler=Effect]Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, you can remove 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard from play to activate 1 of the following effects:

- Decrease this card's ATK by 500 until the End Phase of this turn. This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase.

- Look at 1 face-down Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls. If it is a Trap Card, send it to the Graveyard immediately. If not, return it to its original position. If this effect is activated, this card cannot attack.

I found this image on Google. Not sure who to credit it to. The link is in the spoiler below.

[spoiler=Moonbeam Dragon, Keeper of the Night]150016.jpg

[spoiler=Effect]This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard while you control a face-up "Moonbeam Dragon, Bringer of Twilight." When this card is Summoned, it is stacked on top of "Moonbeam Dragon, Bringer of Twilight." This stack is treated as 1 card. While this card is face-up on the field, all DARK monsters and Dragon-Type monsters you control gain 700 ATK and DEF. If this card attacks, end your Battle Phase after damage calculation. Once per turn, you can pay 1000 Life Points and remove from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard to decrease this card's ATK by 400 until the End Phase. This card can then attack all monsters your opponent controls (damage calculation is not applied). When this card is removed from the field, send the "Moonbeam Dragon, Bringer of Twilight" it was stacked on to the Graveyard.

NOTE: This card was designed as a new type of Monster Card: an Evolution Monster. As such, I tried to replace the "Effect" in the Type description with "Evolution," but it doesn't work when I post the link to the altered picture. Also, Moonbeam Dragon, Keeper of the Night is Ultimate Rare.

[spoiler=Kirika, Queen of the Space Pirates]150016.jpg

[spoiler=Effect]Once per turn, you can pay 500 Life Points to randomly select 1 card from your opponent's hand and look at it. If it is a Level 4 or lower Monster Card, you can destroy 1 card you control or discard 1 card from your hand to Special Summon it to your side of the field. Monsters Special Summoned by this effect cannot use their effects, and are destroyed during the End Phase of this turn. If it is a Spell or Trap Card, immediately Set it on your opponent's side of the field.

NOTE: Kirika is Super Rare.

Spell Cards:

[spoiler=Power of the Firewave]150016r.jpg

[spoiler=Effect]When you activate this card, put 2 Firewave Counters on it. All FIRE monsters on the field gain 400 ATK for each Firewave Counter on this card. All monsters that you can put Firewave Counters on gain an additional 100 ATK for each Firewave Counter on this card. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can move 1 Firewave Counter from this card to another card that you can put a Firewave Counter on. If this card would be destroyed by a card effect, remove 1 Firewave Counter instead. If there are no Firewave Counters on this card, remove it from play.

NOTE: Power of the Firewave is Ultra Rare

Some notes for general things about these cards:

- Yes, I am aware that Yu-Gi-Oh! cards use bullets to denote separate effects rather than dashes. Unfortunately, YCM does not have a key for such bullets, and it won't recognize it when I put in a key command that types one of those bullets (like this one -> •). So, dashes were the next best thing.

- Yes, it gets a little wordy when I have to refer to Firewave cards as "cards that you can put put a Firewave Counter on." I did not use "Firewave Card" because almost none of the Firewave cards actually have "Firewave" in their names. If there's an easier way to put it, I'd be grateful.

- Yes, I know Moonbeam Dragon, Bringer of Twilight's picture is overused. It was the first image I could find, and I'm fine with it. Also, I know there's text at the bottom of Keeper of the Night's pic. I guess I'll upload that pic to Photobucket and crop that out when I have time. Further, I know Father Wolf's pics are used a lot, but that's the thing: people use them because they are FREAKING AWESOME! I'm no exception.

That's all I can really say. Rate! Comment! Suggest revisions! All that crap!

Thread history (this section will only be around as long as I can edit this first post):

  • 11/10/09: Blaiyz's effect clarified and revised. Now only lasts until the End Phase of the turn, and also increases DEF by 300.
