I actually like a breed of a democracy and a dictatorship, if that makes any sense at all. The dictator has absolute power, yet the people are able to choose the dictator on a simple majority vote and have the power to impeach the dictator.

democracy makes no sense. We should all be under a dictatorship [/topic]

The first post did not ask for your view on democracy' date=' nor did it ask for an alternative. So why have a [/topic'] tag when you aren't even referring to the topic at hand?

Maybe I am misunderstanding what a democracy is, but I think that it is when everyone in a body votes to pass a law, give a right, loan money, et cetera.

When you are telling one to take a vote, you are telling them. You are not asking if they want to vote for a vote, or if they want to vote for a vote for a vote. You are simply stating that a vote is in order, and no one can change that decision. So how is a democracy when votes are set in stone? Shouldn't we vote to take a vote? And shouldn't we vote to take that vote?

Well your topic makes no sense whatsoever, so anyone can make it what they want.

Apparently, hijacking threads are against the rules. I think I was warned for that, sometime in the past.

Rule 26, babe.

Every current form of government is horrible alone, but the joining of some could make them work.

I mean, every thought our [uSA] Republic-Democracy was cool beans until people got bored and started hating it.

So let's pick them at random,

The voting rules of a Republic, The authority of a Monarachy, the reliability of a Oligarchy and the 'rules' of Communism.

I will call him Rearcholimunism.

A benevolent dictatorship would be better then any other form of government. Unfortunately' date=' that will probably never happen D:

depends on who you have in power. You need to be able to impeech those who don't do a good job.

He (or SHE! LOL :P) wouldn't be a dictator if they could be impeached...bcuz it means they don't have absolute power :O

Tyranny? Or Dictatorship? Are they both the same, or are they both different?

Can't we just be an Anarchy and get this conversation over with?

Look: either call me Dark or Michael. Someone stole the name "Dark", so I'm stuck with these damn symbols in my name.

And that wasn't sarcasm. :/

Anarchy is probably the second-stupidest form of government (oxymoron), below pure democracy.

Majority wins isn't always a good idea unless some kind of restriction is in order. Otherwise one group would outnumber another group, and it wouldn't be a democracy.

I thought I was expressing sarcasm in my post with Anarchy. I'm confused.

I despise Anarchy too. But it solves political problems for a while. When changing a type of rule, every government plummets into Anarchy, then comes back up. Anarchy is like the white to a sheet of paper, the 1 to every problem.

It's run by the people who run the people.

Wouldn't that be a republic?

I took a test on the different forms of government last year' date=' so I technically should know this stuff.

A pure rebublic (simple version) is People vote for their leader, but leader gets total control.

The U.S. has a Democratic Republic, which combines the two most Fail type of government (Since Anarchy is the Nihilism of politics, I'm not counting it as a form of government) and has done well for itself so far. I'm just waiting for the day an absolute monarchy forms, attacks the US and assassinates every political leader and takes over while the Congress is still debating on whether or not to do anything about it.

I thought a Republic was the same as a Democracy, except Republics had an extra level of people.

For example, with a room of 100 people, in a democracy, you'd need 51 votes to pass a law.

In a republic with a room of 100 people, and 10 representatives (10 people assigned to 1 rep), you'd only need 6 votes from the reps to pass a law. The people vote for the reps, but the reps ultimatley make their decisions.

I don't even understand why the US is considered a democracy. It's not like I am a part of the voting system to pass a law. I can only vote for the dude to votes for the law.

Damn' date=' California has like, 53 and New York has, like 32. But who has the better anal sex? California! I hate them West Coasters and their anal sex.[/s']

Yeah, me no like that. But they make oaths not to vote for the wrong person. But, still, I don't feel like I'm voting, I feel like I'm telling someone else what to vote on. Therefore, I really don't have the right to vote directly, (excluding preliminaries?).

US=Democratic Republic

We vote for the head chief, we get people who are supposed to represent what us, the people, want.

If you want a real democracy, it would require a nationwide poll for every law being passed (ect.), which would take weeks at a time.

Less accuracy /= less time.
