My Spirit Monster

Recommended Posts

Here is the first of many Spirit cards I will be making. I love Spirits and am completely obsessed with them, and was disappointed to see that only 1 or so people of note were making them (that I could find). Now that I've come back, I'm going to make/post my Spirit cards for you guys to enjoy/rate. So please rate and comment!:D

[spoiler=Card Lore]This cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except from the hand or Graveyard by paying 900 Life Points. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn it is Special Summoned. Place Tail Counters on this card equal to the number of times it has been Summoned in the current Duel (max. 9). This card gains 200 ATK and DEF for each Tail Counter on it. This card gets these effects, based on the number of Tail counters on it. 3+: Once per turn, you can tribute 1 monster or discard 1 card to select 1 monster your opponent controls. Take control of it until the End phase. That monster cannot declare an attack. 6+: Return this card to the Deck to Special Summon 1 Spirit Monster from you hand regardless of summoning conditions. 9+: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent plays with their hand revealed. Once per turn, you may look at the top 2 cards of your opponent's Deck.

I will be adding more in the next few days depending on how busy I am.

The "once per turn" summoning issue isn't really needed.

Effect is pretty damn interesting. It'd take a while to do it, though.

OCG is ok. Only thing I see wrong with the issue is artist autograph on the left, but it might be possible to crop that out.

5.8/10

Sorry, about the text. It placed in to balance out a piece of the text that I removed "This card cannot be Special Summoned except from your hand or Graveyard by paying 900 Life Points."

If you still wish me to remove it I will. it was put in to prevent abuse by repeatedly summoning it in one turn to get most of it's counters. Now looking back on it 900 is a steep price to pay, along with the time it takes to bring it to full power.

I also cropped the picture and... THANK YOU! Not only is it something I forgot, but the picture looks MUCH better now!

So all around Thank you.:D

EDIT: damn... I was able to crop out the stuff on the bottom, but it won't allow me to use the picture if I crop out the left side...hmm I'm not sure what to do. It's better than before right?

It's okay but also a bit meh as well. Especially since when it returns your hand the counters would literally "fall off"' date=' lol. I actually used this image on my "Gaizan, The Fox Phantasm" card. But it's nice that someone is trying to revive the Spirit concept.

Oh thanks, and I'll have to look at that card later, sounds interesting. One thing to clear up, is that yes, the counters do fall off. However, when you summon it again, it comes back with 1 more counter than the last time you summoned it. Since it gets counters equal to the number of time it has been summoned in the current duel, the number of counters can only increase or stay (at max). hope that cleared things up, and thanks for your post. :D

Pretty good for a new member. Can't see any major OCG errors besides what jazin kay pointed out' date=' interesting spirit card. 9/10

Ok, that's two different people so I'm taking out that text. It still won't be overpowered so, I'll fix that right away! Thanks guys!:D (and thank you sephiran for the 9/10!)

OCG correction has already been pointed out' date=' but for someone new the OCG overall is very good

quite an interesting new type of spirit, not following the standard spirit rules, but that's fine too

9/10

Thanks guys, glad you enjoy it!

One quick question though, how does this card not follow the Spirit monster rules? I modeled the first part of the effect to match that of Yamato-no-Kami, if you mean it's very different from previous Spirit monsters, then I understand that completely. Just a question because I was really careful to make sure it fit the Spirit card rules and just want to know if I messed up. Thanks:D
