More than 92% of the members on this website don't understand calculus' date=' which is the only class I am mildly having trouble in (B+ average is Asian fail). So, I have no reason being in this thread. But just for kicks, show me how you would do the following problem:

(Taken from Chapter 1, Section 1 of my calc book.)

f(x) = 4x + 7

Find: f(1), f(3), f(5), f(-5), f(x), f(h), f(0).

And a second question.

f(x) = 6x + 8

g(x) = 9x - 13

Find: f(3) - g(4)

[/quote']

The answer is 2.

Which question are you talking about? :/

B-b-but you have to multiply' date=' and then add.

It's section 1-1, it's obviously going to be easy s*** you learned in 7th grade.

Calculus only takes off after Chapter 3.1

EVERYBODY knows that :P

Has to do with ordering/pairs.

Not much to it.

Just a fancy term in Math.

Example. Plz?

Something like:

If there is:

WXYZ

The combinations lead to W X Y Z to each other.

So W with X & Y without Z. Z would be with itself.

So X with Y & Z without W. W would be with itself.

'' Y w/ Z '' W w/out X. X'' itself.

'' Z w/ X '' etc.

Then WZ with YX

Then YZ with XW

Then ZX with YW

Etc.

ETC.

Thus the pair consists of {W, X, Y, Z}

So if you get 1234. The pairs would eventually lead to {1,2,3,4}

Ex: 123/4 -> 13/24 - 12/3/4

Ex: 12/34 -> 1/2/34

That's how I saw it last year. lol

Hoped that clarified something.

2a + 4x - 2y = 2z

-> 2a + 4x - 2y - 2z (easy to simplify)

Proceed with my explanation.

{List all forms of required pair}

The crucial part is trying to break it down.

Thus algebra comes in handy.

2^4x - 5 \/ 3^ 7x + 5x

Find base first then log then make it simple.

Copy paste

Voila !

tl;dr version- everything has some sort of correlation to something termed as base. It is by relation you have to see it.
