It's using the spoiler tags. If you are accustomed to using quote tags it's the same thing except replace [.quote] with [.spoiler] if not. Read below.

 

Find the body of text you want to keep hidden.

 

bla bla Christmas how do you do this

here's a cool gift.

 

Next place 
[spoiler] before the word/letter you wish to hide.

bla bla Christmas how do you do this.
[spoiler]here's a cool gift.

Than place [/spoiler]
at the end of the world/letter you wish to hide.

bla bla Christmas how do you do this.

[spoiler][b]here's a cool gift.[/b][/spoiler]



It'll come out akin to

 

bla bla Christmas how do you do this.

 

here's a cool gift.

 

[Lyfe.]

[spoiler=TITLE] CONTENT [/spoiler]

will appear as

[spoiler=TITLE] CONTENT
