BACKSTORY

The Ice Warriors are a militaristic reptilian race from the planet Mars. Originally a savage, invading order, they have since abandoned their ways, and are now a diplomatic society. Ice Warriors almost always wore hard thick, green, ceremonial armour. They usually wore a similarly-coloured helmet with a red blast-screen covering their eyes, which covered everything but their mouths. The helmets also had "ear holes". Ice Warriors also used small, hand-held sonic weapons built into their armor just above their "hands". Also notable is the Ice Warrior Heirarchy:

Grand Marshall - An Ice Warrior of the highest order, with bejewled helmets

Ice Lord - Light Armour, bullet shaped helmets, breastplates and capes.

Common Ice Warrior - Thick, shell-like, bulky armour.

Varga - An Ice Warrior explorer, whose ship crash-landed on Earth during the Ice Age and froze in a glacier. He was perfectly preserved, and when thawed out and seeing the Second Ice Age of the year 5000 affecting Earth and thinking his race to be dead, declared Earth the new home of the Ice Warriors. He, and his fellow Warriors, tried to conquer Earth, but failed. In his attempt to return to Mars, he and his Warriors all died when their ship exploded.

[spoiler=Lore]This card cannot be Summoned as long as there is at least 1 FIRE monster on the field. This card cannot be attacked as long as you control at least 1 face-up "Ice Warrior" monster. This card gains 100 ATK and DEF for each "Ice Warrior" or "Ice Lord" monster on the field. If this card attacks or is attacked by a FIRE monster, this card is destroyed without applying Damage Calculation.

Slaar was one of the Ice Lords involved in the invasion of Earth in the year 2099. He took over the Moonbase and planned to use the T-Mat - a hyper-form of travel that made the rocket ship obsolete - to send deadly pods to Earth, which would deplete Oxygen and kill the Human Race, allowing the Ice Warriors to take over, as their race relied on Nitrogen, although they could survive in Oxygen. His plan was stopped by the Doctor and he was accidentally killed by one of his Warrior's sonic blasts

[spoiler=Lore]This card can only be Summoned if you control an "Ice Warrior" or "Ice Lord" monster. This card cannot be destroyed by non-WATER monsters. During each of your Standby Phases, place 1 Spore Counter on this card. When there are 7 Spore Counters on this card, Tribute this card to destroy all monsters on the field. If any WIND or EARTH monsters are destroyed by this effect, they are removed from play instead. If this card is destroyed while it has a Spore Counter(s) on it, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of Spore Counters on this card x200.

The Martian Seed Pods were instrumental in the conquest of Earth. They went through several stages. The first stage was a white round pod (hence the name). If exposed to air, it would swell up and release a cloud of spores. If these spores landed on biological matter, they would start growing and sucking up oxygen. These spores would then grow into a thick foamy substance which quickly covers the area. This foam would then grow pods, which repeat the process. It was estimated that after the pods covered sufficient area on Earth, it could bring down the oxygen content to 20% of normal. This would kill the humans, but would be perfect for the Ice Warriors. These seed pods are immune to brute force and most acids. On the other hand, on contact with water these seed pods shrivel up and die (due to the lack of water on Mars).
