DMZ's Reptile Card Contest (WINNERS)

DMZ

Recommended Posts

Well, my first contest..

WINNERS:

XP_Lulz 1st place

The card is just.......a little bit more epic than the other contestants. excellent OCG, fitting pic/name, definitely something I would run. Also quite hilarious considering the overall effect and name. Well done.

2nd place

Master Tortoise

A VERY close second, nice pic, excellent OCG and something I would run, but only on earth-based decks. It's not as mainstream as the winning card.

3rd place

Goes to Rodri666

Despite the earlier Synchro miss, the combination of the two cards is very good in its own right. Only two points were keeping these two from the 2nd place: Tuner-type and a few OCG errors.

EDIT: cannot send points...any help?

[spoiler=First Dropouts]

n.gangster:

Your cards (2).

Lots of OCG errors, sometimes even hard to read. The Dragon Card you sent it didn't have anything to do with Reptiles and it is extremely overpowered. It's Obelisk with less Tributes(2 instead of the Obelik's 3, yet the same ATK.) and with 1 less effect.

3/10( 1 point extra for the pic )

The King Snake

It is related to reptiles, but that's it.

OCG...well, there is none. The card is too powerful for a 8 star(The most powerful 8 star I know is Blue-Eyes, and he has 3000 ATK) and the ability to control all reptiles type card makes it even more broken. The pic ain't too original.

4/10

Total score: 3.5/10

ELIMINATED

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stewiegriffin123

Ravon the Ruler of light.

This one has some OCG, but it is very bad. The card is waaay too powerful for 2 tributes. Successful Summon nets you a free attack at your opponent, which is basically winning the duel. No relation to Reptiles and this car is banned on the first release day. Light is not a type too...

2/10

ELIMINATED

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yugioh42

Your card isn't bad, yet it seems like a couple of different cards in one. The name says Lizard Man but he type is Beast, yet from the pic is clearly is a Reptile on the pic it is clearly a walking lizard, so the "Man" part fits in well. Also, the flavour text doesn't say anything as to why this is a man-lizard or even that it is a man.... Not too shabby, but not anything unusual either. Also you have a couple of grammar errors. This is a card I would want to Summon though, if it was good.

5/10

The rest of you, be glad, because you are going to be judged even harder.

On to the next round: Gustavosuarez, Master Tortoise, Punisheris, rodri666, XP lulz, Despair from the Dark anf Flamez.

Entry fee= none

[spoiler=Rules]

All the rules that apply on YCM.

[spoiler=Requirements]

1: Must be a monster card

2: Must be related to reptiles. vanilla's, effect monsters, fusion, I don't really care. That DOES NOT mean it has to be Reptile-type.

3: No Synchro's/dark Synchro's, No Spirits

4: Pic can be overused, you will not get rated lower if it is.

5: Must be at least a little creative

6: Max 2 cards per contestant

[spoiler=Extra info]You have even chances to win whether you have vanilla/effect/fusion/ritual/whatever monsters.

Gold rares and stuff will not necessarily net you extra points, but might be counted if cards are equally good (or bad).

[spoiler=Prizes]

1st Place: 20 Points, 2 reps

2nd Place: 10 points, 1 rep

3rd Place:5 points

4th and lower:My thanks for participating :)

[spoiler=How your card will be judged]

1. Picture: Is it fitting, epic and realistic(hehe)?

2. Effect/Flavour Text: Does it match the card and/or does it tell a story? Also, in case of effects, how does the effect fit the card or other (Reptile) cards?

3. Stats: Should be quite obvious, if you have a 5000 ATK card, you better have a good reason :D

4. Crazyness: Is the card crazy enough to be liked and/or played?

5. Overall Appeal: How does the card looks as a whole?

NOTE: When you are absolutely sure your card(s) is/are done, put FINAL underneath them

Entries must be in on 16th of December (GMT+1 people) I will start judging on the 17th, results will prolly be in on the 18th.

Card:

324649.jpg

This card cannot be destroyed by Battle if there is a Field Spell card on the field. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) If your opponent controls no Spell or Trap cards, once per turn, you can place 1 Gaia Counter on a monster your opponent controls. A monster with a Gaia Counter on it loses 100ATK for each EARTH monster you control.

I could be cruel and simply crush you when judging, but I will say it now:

Read the rules I stated.

No Synchro's.....

BTW, for everyone: The card(s) has(have) to be RELATED to reptiles, that does not mean it has to be Reptile-type. Just so you know. Related can be just in name, or in Flavour text(Vanilla's), or in effect. And of course if it IS a reptile-type :)

Adding Judging points....

Well, I will tell you that with the results. No more hints XD

For all contestants:

When you feel that your card(s) is/are perfect, put FINAL underneath them. I will judge the cards that have FINAL underneath them. You can of course change the card even if you have put FINAL underneath it already but on the 16th those changes must be made.

Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand to Special Summon 1 “Salamander Token” (Reptile-Type/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). When this card would be destroyed by battle, you can destroy 1 “Salamander Token” instead. When a “Salamander Token” is destroyed, inflict 500 damage to both player’s. .

I enter. Here are my cards :

27671q.jpg

Effect: Once per turn, you can flip this card into face-down Defense Position. When this card is Flip Summoned, you can select 1 face-up monster on the field. The selected monster's effect(s) are negated and it can't attack or change its battle position. Then, you take damage equal to its Level x 300. Once per turn, if this face-down card is attacked, this card is not destroyed and your opponent draw a card.

27671i.jpg

Effect:When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior or Reptile Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 Level 2 or lower monster you control to destroy up to 2 Spell or Trap cards on the field. If you do, this card gains 400 ATK for each destroyed Spell Card and your opponent takes 500 damage for each destroyed Trap Card. When this card destroys a monster by battle, both players add the bottom card from their respective Graveyard to the top of their own Deck.

They are ready for judging.
