How does it being on the internet make it any different then being in real life?

The only thing that is different is that you are not face to face.

 

Even in real life it isn't the fact that someone is face to face and tells you something, it is the fact that they actually said it without knowing you are even trying to get to know you.

 

On topic, I have learned not to take offense to just about anything. I have learned that each culture acts differently even some families, so you must become acquainted with the person before you can safely subject what they are saying as being offensive.
