Seems pointless, to be quite honest, since you would almost always be better off just running some other monster with naturally high stats. It combos nicely with Machiners Force and similar things, but that seems less than worthwhile.

Exactly, Machiners Force is not the only card hard to summon thre are tons more with high attacks
