Ezio
Anyway, discuss socialism vs capitalism, I myself am a more socialist than a capitalist, I see a great need for change.

Ezio
That's what I like to hear. To be quite honest I was expecting a barrage of anti-socialist comments.
Juuzou
People here aren't ignorant snobs who don't look at both sides. All the smart people prefer socialism/communism
CrabHelmet
I prefer science. With science, we can move toward post-scarcity; post-scarcity, capitalism and socialism are both obsolete.
~ P O L A R I S ~
I like capitalism. Sure, socialism's ethical, but I like my pouch of gold and would rather donate it freely if I felt it necessary than have it forced from me. Very hard to force socialism too, because the very same rich people it seeks to penalize have the greatest access to weaponry and other means of control. I prefer science. With science' date=' we can move toward post-scarcity; post-scarcity, capitalism and socialism are both obsolete.[/quote'] Your confidence in science to magically give us all the resources we'd never need is nice, but is it realistic? Willieh
Eh. Neither are really THAT bad if people can run them right. America's commonwealth was pretty good until crooked politicians. Between the two I pick Socialism though.

Mindscatter
You cannot compare Socialism with Capitalism, faildude. Capitalism is an economy, whilst Socialism is a government. So we either compare Socialism with Liberalism or Communism with Capitalism. On the communist-capitalist scale, I'm pretty communist.
Amethyst Phoenix
Capitalist. And everyone in this thread would agree with capitalism provided they aren't the corrupt dictator at the head of the socialist/communist government. CrabHelmet
To be quite honest, hybrid format is superior. Less room for corruption and inefficiency than socialism, and less stupidly "let everyone die" than capitalism. Pity the U.S. won't let you ask for universal healthcare without provoking cries of "He's trying to steal our money!" "He's a communist!" "Don't make me so poor that I can't buy a seventh mansion!" Dictator7
Doesn't this belong in the debates section. Well anyway, they both have faults but what is the better of the two worsts? That's what you have to ask yourself.

Dark Mousy
I personally think that both Socialism and Capitalism fail. Then what are we left with? Also, Socialism is more *change* based. Left is considered more change based.
