YGO and Christianity

Actually' date=' after being pretty much hunted down by local Christians for playing the game, I've found that they assume it's very "demonic, materialistic, and based around satanic precepts like the tarot cards!" =/

Tarot cards are the sheet. Clearly these people need to be hunted and shot down.

You know' date=' one of my friend had to burn her yugioh cards when a priest found her playing with them :/

One of my friends advised me to burn/throw away/rip up my cards after finding out "their evil origin" from her brother who did the same to his =/ So I studied and found that the only truly evil thing about the game is its materialistic nature which can easily be solved.

I don't get why it is hated by Christians.

Develop a sense of separation between what you worship and what you come across every day... If you don't think figures in your religion are like that' date=' don't worry about what a card says about it.[/b']

Not to turn in into more of a religion thread than it already is, but in a real Christian's life, there is no separation.

@bolded: What?

@ '@bolded: What?'

I'm saying that, for example, someone makes Jesus a Level 1 monster with 0 ATK and DEF and no effect. Too many people would jump onto that, while others wouldn't care.

I have no standpoint on religion, so....

But some people need to learn that people have opinions and a right to state them. If you don't agree, don't be bothered; It's a picture.

Christians hate it because it is popular. And Asian.

O Rly? I would have ran away instead of burning my yugioh cards. After kicking the priest in the nuts shin of course.

Well, for a Christian, it's more than just a picture. It's a bunch of wicked text grabbing and controlling the minds of the blind.

Also, if this game or any game got to the point of using "Jesus" as a card, I'd burn them up too =/ But this game is alright, it only has a vague allusion to him

Because they're Christian Extremists that take everything too seriously, personally my Granparents were Christian they gave me a whole deck of yugioh cards. The Egyptian Gods and The Creator are some of the reasons those idiots of idi, I mean Christians are idiots and hate Yugioh. It is even more because of the "Demons" and the spirit monsters and the Dragons, they just have to learn how to cope with the fact they cannot always win. Besides I'm an Athiest/Agnostic person or just don't like to think about it.
