It's still a general statement.

This's retarded. 3000 were killed in 9/11' date=' which was orchestrated by the US government of the time anyway.

 

ONE MILLION Iraqi citizens were killed in the Iraq "war". CONTRAST.

First of all, your numbers are grossly exaggerated, inaccurate, and assume we killed all of those civilians, that the ones we did kill weren't justified, does not make a distinction between a killing and an accident, and attempts to paint our military as ax crazy barbarians.

Indians - This one doesn't really have a right or wrong. Some might say we're evil for taking their land and killing them. However, these people like to completely ignore the fact that the Native Americans were killing eachother for land and women, and scalped their victims. The only difference between Americans vs Indians and Indians vs Indians, is that we had guns and our skin was lighter.

 

British - Unjust taxes. Parliament was not allowed to tax provinces without their consent. The reason they had our consent by default, was because they wouldn't let us have a representative in parliament. Oppression of the (at the time) weak results in revolution.

 

Civil War - States Rights vs Strong Central Government. Slavery was the most heatedly debated issue out of all the others. Textbooks filled with propaganda that war was about slavery.

 

 

Russia - Honestly don't know enough about the Cold War to make an informed observation.

No, America is about liberty.

 

Farmers and merchants became soldiers out of necessity, fighting for their freedom.

 

The reason we have the right to bear arms, is so that if we ever get another corrupt leadership, and they refuse to step down when the majority expresses their dissatisfaction, we can overthrow them.

 

 

We were never about taking anything but the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness we deserved.

Maybe I'd be more agreeable if all the people pulling statistics out of their asses backed them up with evidence.

If you'll notice, the death tool has been steadily falling. Now, as we are winning in this war, you want to pull out.

Also, to everyone who has posted since my last post, allow me to restate:

I lol'ed at this whole thread.

To everyone saying that we killed a million innocent civilians' date=' please remember that it was a war, and that those numbers are not all civilians. The vast majority of those dead were enemy soldiers.

Now, you can argue all you want about whether or not we should have been in a war, but once you're there, you don't give up. Terrorists don't measure success the way we do, we measure the success of a mission by whether or not we completed the task, and how few civilians we hurt, they measure it by how many. Now, you may try to say that we hate Muslim's, and that's why we're fighting them, but to that, let me say that 1 million Muslims practice their faith peacefully everyday, and we do not fight them, we do not attack them, and we do not harm them. But it is those who pervert the message of Muhammad, those who take, not his message from Mecca, of non-violence, but his message from Medina, which is not in the Qur'an, that you must go against all those who do not believe, with violence.

This is not theory, this is not intolerance, this is a war against a group with which there can be no peace. So we go in, and we take down the dictator, we go after those who preemptively attacked us, and we win. We cannot second guess, we cannot falter, we may not let ourselves become drowned in minutiae, and must instead focus on the defense of our nation, the protection of our people, and the security of our American Dream.
