[HELP] Game Maker 8.0

Hey everyone. I am in the process of making a game in Game Maker 8.0, but unfortunately, I cannot find out how to add damage or items. I have got the movement, attacking and adding the backgrounds done. If you use this program and know how to add Health Bars, add enemies, and make them do damage. Thanks.
