What is reality, YCM?

Is it what you do/see when you are awake?

Is dreaming real?

What is more real, dreaming or being awake?

Please read the quotes below, while thinking. ^_^

They say that dreams are real only as long as they last. Can't you say the same thing about life?

I had a friend once who told me...that the worst mistake that you could make...is to think that you are alive...when really you’re asleep in life's waiting room. The trick is to combine...your waking rational abilities... with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. 'Cause if you can do that' date=' you can do anything.[/quote']

What do you expect to see when you close your eyes now? Nothing? Only a black nothing?

Close your eyes.

[spoiler=click this after you closed your eyes]Surprised? What you see isn't black. It's rather an undefined blue with lots of colourful sparks

And these sparks belong to the reality, just like dreams. While you dream, your eyes are closed, too. But you won't see these sparks coming from the bright light leaving a "brandmark" in your eye. You see defined pics, movements, stories. And these also belong to the reality. Your brain goes through everything you saw and experienced that day. It's tidying up your memory.

So, I really don't see the point of this.

We're animals. And animals shouldn't give a damn about things like "What's reality, muhahahaha? ((((O.o)))"

We should care about keeping our race alive. And this will become difficult in some 100 years.

Yeah.

After a dream is over, nothing affects you in reality.

Events from one dream do not carry over to another. They don't affect eachother.

If you die in a dream, your body in reality is still alive.

If you die in reality, all dreams cease to exist.

Furthermore, many dreams rarely make any sense whatsoever.

They're also altered and influenced by our experiences and thoughts in the real world.

Thus, it can be said that reality is the source of dreams.

Therefore, reality is the true existence, and dreams the illusion.

It would make no sense for illusion to be the source of reality (here I mean reality in the defined sense of the word, not as in "reality, the world we live in whilst we're awake").

Let me ask you all a question:

I have a science book' date=' on the cover, I have written the words "Dream is Destiny."

Does this science book exist?

[/quote']

I don't see the relevance. Even if it were to exist without there being a catch such as you writing in it, it's being a "SCIENCE BOOK" on the subject doesn't magically mean it's credible.

Here's my SCIENCE BOOK, still trying to get it published:

IF YOU BURN THIS BOOK YOU WILL BE IMMORTAL.

Just sayin'.

Okay, well, let my questioning continue.

Before I had told you that this book existed, you could not have manipulated what you though of this book, right?

Now, you can manipulate your thoughts on this alleged book.

You can say, for example, "oh, it has polka dots on the cover, with 254 pages about SCIENCE of dogs sniffing butts."

Now the reality of my book, real or fictional, is now changed. You control reality of your world.

I mean, for all I know, you don't exist. You are just an extension of my thoughts projected upon the "shared reality."
