New Crystal Beast card

Due to several CB topics in the YUGIOH TGC section that have agreed that Crystal Beasts need a new boss monster that's better and easier to summon than Rainbow Dragon, I've decided to do it myself.

 

Suishou Dragon

Effect Monster/Attribute: LIGHT/Level: 8/Type: Dragon/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2400

Effect: You can only Special Summon this card by having 3 or more "Crystal Beast" cards with different names in your Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned, discard your hand and add cards to your hand from your Graveyard equal to the number of cards you discarded. When this card is destroyed, you can add up to 3 "Crystal Beast" cards from your Graveyard to your Spell/Trap Card Zone.

 

So what do you think?

(all you would have to do is add "This monster is also treated as a Beast type monster." to the begining of it's effect.but no "".

Honestly, I think they need one or two better level 4 or lower monsters and possibly a search card or monster removal card much more than a boss that might not see much play, but I suppose this is fairly nice and helps a little bit.

[b']Why are there so many anyway? I never understood the appeal of a theme that only sees play due to one card that's not even a monster, and even then is nowhere near Tier 1.[/b]

Effect: This card can be Special Summoned by sending 3 "Crystal Beast" cards from your Spell/Trap Zone to the Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned this way, discard your hand and add cards to your hand from your Graveyard equal to the number of cards you discarded. If this effect is activated, this card cannot attack this turn.

 

The only way it relates to the Beasts right now is a summoning condition that kills their best move. I'd run it in Hopeless or some S**T like that, but... it doesn't support the beasts well. You could recycle Rare Value, Promise etc. but then you're still many Crystals short of either card. And then, it can't attack. It needs more relation than a Summoning Condition. But I agree with your premise, that this is much better than Rainbow Dragon.

I like it, its similar to Hamon, but a little less offensive.

@griffen: you're probably right about the support. But everyone was talking boss monsters so...

 

@genma: CB's are fun to use, even though they're not top tier. I'm working on getting an IRL CB deck myself.

 

And I changed the effect to more support CBs.

As a fan of Crystal Beast: 9/10

It seems like a Crystal Hamon and the effect reminds me of a Brioniac that returns from the Graveyard.

It's comming along pretty nicely already. Look at the Crystal Synchro deck in my sig. That's what it's gonna turn in to. I'm still missing 2 Pegasus, 1 Rare Value, and 2 Rainbow Ruins, plus all the synchros.
