shenworne
This notice applies to all human beings, no exceptions. Read carefully. The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units, code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed, "Sub-sequential Internal Non-morality," or more commonly known as "SIN". Some Symptoms: 1. Loss of direction2. Lack of peace and joy3. Depression or confusion in the mental component4. Foul vocal emissions5. Selfish, violent behavior6. Amnesia of origin7. Fearfulness8. Rebellion9. Pride To correct this SIN defect, the Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory authorized repair and service free of charge. The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required. The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component. No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with: 1. Love2. Joy3. Peace4. Kindness5. Goodness6. Faithfulness7. Gentleness8. Patience9. Self-control Please see the operating manual, HOLY BIBLE, for further details on the use of these fixes. As an added upgrade, the Manufacturer has made available to all repaired units direct monitoring and assistance from the resident Maintenance Technician, the HOLY SPIRIT. Repaired units need only make Him welcome and He will take up residence on the premises. WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without making these corrections voids the Manufacturer's warranty, exposing the unit to many dangers and problems --- and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on JESUS. - Thank you for your attention.
Guest
I love it when people get confused and think that children's card game forums are the perfect place for evangelicalism. This notice applies to all human beings' date=' no exceptions. Read carefully.[/quote'] No exceptions? What about Jesus? Isn't he a human being born without sin? The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured' date=' regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.[/quote'] Scientists may have told you that the heart is actually not the center of the nervous system and is not connected to the thought process, but we all know that those are evil agents of Satan who want to corrupt you into believing in heresies like dinosaurs. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units' date=' code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.[/quote'] However, it is also necessary for the very existence of subsequent units, since without that malfunction there would have been nothing but the prototypes. What you are therefore saying is that our very existence is a mistake. This defect has been technically termed' date=' "Sub-sequential Internal Non-morality," or more commonly known as "SIN".[/quote'] Come on, you couldn't come up with a better acronym than that? Some Symptoms: I thought you just said that all humans had this. Couldn't you just list "being human" as the only symptom and leave it at that? 1. Loss of direction2. Lack of peace and joy3. Depression or confusion in the mental component In this topic' date=' it is a sin to be in any way depressed or confused. If you are not constantly happy and [are convinced that you'] know everything perfectly, then that means that you are evil and should burn for all eternity for this offense. This reminds me of a board game where one character's ability allows you to reduce the Population stat in order to increase the Morale stat. I always wondered how that worked - did he kill all the whiny people or something? Now, however, I see that God approves of killing sad people, since they're all agents of Satan anyhow, so it all makes perfect sense. 4. Foul vocal emissions Come on. You're listing nine definitive sins and all you can come up with is "using bad language"? 5. Selfish' date=' violent behavior[/quote'] Why are "selfish" and "violent" grouped together? Selfish behavior can be a problem whether or not it is violent, and violent behavior can in some cases be justified - "turn the other cheek" breaks down in interactions of more than two people. 6. Amnesia of origin As with 1-3' date=' how exactly is this a sin? Also, here's a tip for your future evangelical works: if you're trying to convert people to Christianity, then don't pull arguments like "You do not remember your God!" that only make the slightest bit of sense if the target already agrees whole-heartedly with your faith. It merely makes you seem like a closed, unwelcoming system that runs on pure circular logic, which is not, I believe, the impression you want to give. 7. Fearfulness That's it. I call shenanigans on your list of alleged sins. 8. Rebellion Okay' date=' this one here is just nonsense. Jesus was all about siding with the oppressed against the oppressor. To call rebellion a sin is to side, unilaterally, in all cases, with the oppressor against the oppressed. This is balderdash. 9. Pride Finally, you've hit upon one of the classic ones that everyone knows. Although it seems rather odd that you're listing pride as a sin when you've already decided that low self-esteem is also a sin. Any way you look at it, you lose. To correct this SIN defect' date=' the Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect,[/quote'] Wait a minute. God is an omnipotent, omniscient being, isn't he? Either he screwed up, in which case he is at fault, or he planned for sin all along, in which case it's not a bug but a feature. You can't say that he is neither liable nor at fault for sin if it is in fact a defect, as that implies that something happened that an omnipotent, omniscient being was unable to stop despite wanting to stop it. is providing factory authorized repair and service free of charge. How does praying magically solve everything? Why is goodness determined simply based on who says the right words to the right deity? And why, exactly, should your target audience care? Furthermore, you're not saying anything new here - or, indeed, anywhere in your post, aside from that robot analogy - that hasn't already been seen a thousand times before by everyone who has ever heard of Christianity. Since you aren't bringing anything new to the table, you are simply rehashing what has already been said a thousand times before. This constant repetition that so many of you evangelists employ is a fine way to annoy people, which in turn is a fine way to turn people away from your religion. Remember that the order to spread the Gospel everywhere was given back when Christianity was known to almost nobody; now that it holds about a quarter to a third of the world as believers and everyone at least knows about it, the dynamics have changed so that "Let everyone find out!" has somehow become "Tell everyone again and again and again until everyone agrees!" WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without making these corrections voids the Manufacturer's warranty' date=' exposing the unit to many dangers and problems --- and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded.[/quote'] Don't worry, I'm not scared. After all, being afraid is sinful, so I can't be scared, can I?
