Well, I just had the idea for a new archetype- "Allusion". They are monsters that act just like allusions. They negate an attack and inflict damage to your opponent. Then they disappear.

When this card is attacked, negate the attack and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK of the monster that attacked this card. This card is destroyed during the End Phase of a turn this card is attacked. This card does not inflict battle damage. When this card is Normal Summoned you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon as many "Allusion Leech"'s from your Deck.

This card cannot be Summoned from your hand except by releasing two "Allusion" monsters from your side of the field. This card cannot be attacked while there is a Face-up "Allusion" monster other then this card. While this card is Face-Up, Allusion monsters cannot be destroyed by their own effect.

Activate only when your opponent draws a card(s) due to card effect. Draw 1 card and both players can Special Summon 1 monster from their Graveyard with 0 ATK and 0 DEF. The Special Summoned monsters cannot attack and cannot be used in a Tribute Summon.

I think Allusion sounds nicer. Illusion is too common.

I feel what you're saying, but I don't think that word means what you think it means.

An "Allusion Set" sounds like a bunch of random Pop Culture cards, not anything like monsters that "don't really exist."

Maybe a name like "Phantasm" or "Ephemera," if that sounds more interesting than "Illusion."

Allusion means that I am referring to the past (or something like that). So it has a similar meaning to illusion. I might change it, but I like the name for now.
