GenzoTheHarpist
breathing a certain substance that a thing needs to live. Plants breathe carbon dioxide while us humans breathe oxygen. But a fetus does take in oxygen in order to live. It just does it through the oxygenated blood it receives. Guest tonymann
Really?! i didnt know that... hmmm. well i learned something new again. Thanks again...
GenzoTheHarpist
Also, there are some kinds of bacteria that take in absolutely no oxygen/CO2 at all... in fact, oxygen kills them. But they definitely are still alive. Anyway, my personal feeling on this is that a fetus should be granted the rights of creatures of similar complexity; if the fetus is just a couple cells, it should be granted rights similar to bacteria, AKA none. If it's almost fully formed, and is as complex as a human but not functional, it should be granted the rights of an impaired human (for instance, someone with down's syndrome). Once it's born, it should have full human rights.
Guest tonymann
But no matter how much rights you have you gotta be prepared for the outside world. I think abortion is a better alternative than adoption.
GenzoTheHarpist
It depends on the circumstance. I think if you catch it early, abortion is best, but if you've already gone 6 months you might as well just wait out the last 3 and have it adopted. But carrying the baby definitely can put a lot of stress, which is why I wouldn't obligate someone to carry a baby to term from an early stage. If the baby can be brought to term with no problem, then adoption should be better.
Guest tonymann
But to put the baby through the hell that is adoption? I just dunno.
GenzoTheHarpist
Hey, lots of people do just fine with adoption. Just depends where you end up.
Guest tonymann
alright i guess so. but no matter what i still think dead baby jokes are hilarious.
GenzoTheHarpist
Yeah, and you have a right to tell them. But I have a right to tell you to knock it off because those jokes are idiotic.

Dark
I think Genzo put it clearly when he said that whether a fetus is alive or not does not affect whether a life should be extinguished or not. One has to look at it from the baby's point of view: would you rather be born into a shitty household with a single parent making twelve bucks a month, or die a (seemingly) painless death and not be born into this corrupted and horrible world? I don't care if you think it's a "quick fix" for teenagers. I'd much rather be dead than be fathered by no one and mothered by a retarded high school girl. GenzoTheHarpist
Other than that you both agree with abortion (and so do I), he really isn't. Personally, I don't even see it in terms of what the baby "would want". It isn't sentient. It should be the mother's choice.
War Chess
I support the abortion in some aspects.A woman has complete right of doing whatever she wants with her body. While the "baby" is less then 3 months, I support abortion. If he is 4-5 or more months, I don't support. If a woman is raped or can die at having the baby, I support her decision.I'm a man, so I don't have a much consistent opinion, but I don't think its a crime. War Chess
I hear that before 3 months, the "baby" still has no central nervous system, so he can be considered just a part of the mother. After the 3rd or 4th month, the baby gets nervous system and the skeleton starts developing. So before 3 months, technically, you are not killing anyone.

War Chess
But there are lots of life forms with no central nervous system, that are still alive. True, but ask me, do they have souls ?Beings with no soul have nothing to lose.
Guest tonymann
Well there is no evidence to prove that *Souls* actually exist...
Dark
Sir, what is this "soul" you speak of? I have recently gotten a full-body x-ray and could not identify a round white object inside of my body. Nor could I identify anything that was even remotely close to a "soul". I also recently cut open a body and could not find any type of "soul". Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but I could swear I did not see anything of that nature. ~/Coolio Prime\~
I don't agree with abortion, but if it wasn't legal then women would just use illegal and dangerous ways to kill their child.
War Chess
Actually, one of the most scientific things is the soul. The spirits exist. But this is my belief. Anyway, back to abortation.Imagine yourself as a woman. You get raped. Terrible.Would you care the fruit of a nightmare, an un-wished kid ? Would you remember that "episode" everytime you looked at the child ? If a woman wants to have intercourses, she uses or demands her partner to use protection.I disagree with abortation if you intentionally da sex without protection, in this case, deal with the consequences. Consider rape and other situations.
