Sincerity...

So I was at my dentist today (ouch) and had to wait in the patient's room.

I walked in and said hi to two ladies in front of me.

They said good evening (but it was 8 AM...morning ;))

They were off.

So there they were, the two ladies in front of me talking in Spanish.

They assumed I didn't know a word of Spanish so they kept on rambling about their sex life right before my eyes.

At first I was like, ok, I don't want to hear about your erotic times together with Juan or whatever.

<_<

We discuss such events that may have occurred to you like DoP where people assume you don't know when you in fact know about something whether it be about a subject, etc.

Go.

I was studying in the school library and a table over there were some guys talking about, what I had at first assumed, various anime.

I was barely paying any attention when I heard a name I recognized and instantly stopped reading, they had just named a hentai movie.

I started really listening to what names they were dropping and I realized they were commenting on the various hentai they like... it did not help that many of these catered to distinct tastes.

I've had people completely trash talk me in Spanish' date=' assuming I wouldn't know what they were saying, or be able to have a come back.

I did.

Also, the title of this thread reminded me of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Reminded me of that too.

Anyways, when I was on holiday in England a few months back, some people talked sh*t to me in Danish, obviously thinking that I couldn't understand them. I could. They ran away with their tails between their legs.

That actually happened to me once, but not exactly like that, it was actually the other way around.

I was on a trip in Brazil with one of my friends. One time, I was speaking with him (in English, obviously) about a prank we would carry on upon returning home. The place was not so crowded (park), and no one seemed to pay any attention to us. But, after a while, when our ideas concerning the prank got a bit sadistic and cruel, a man behind us said, using a perfectly understandable and fluent English:

"Don't do that, boys. Respect your friends."

Then, he just left. Talk about odd situations! (and yes, we DID prank our friend. And yes again, it was kinda cruel.)

By the way, mind telling me why doesn't this thread's title have anything to do with the content?
