Felix Culpa
Hello, welcome to the Harry Potter Book Discussion Thread. Now, read the rules... [spoiler=Rules]1. Never say that you hate Harry Potter. NEVER.2. Read all of the books.3. Well, yeah, that's pretty much it.... Oh, and Slash is not funny, and must not be mentioned... (Not the member, the general idea of slash.) Well, time to discuss.... Discussion Topic #1:Severus Snape Well, I liked Sev through the first 7 books, especially when he was being evil to Harry, because that created the "'Good' antagonist" who sides with good, but is full evil, but then, Rowling went and made him good, at the end of the last book. I was pissed.
MysticWater
Severus Snape never really was evil, but he wasn't at all friendly. I mean, he was evil at one point, but if Dumbledore made him a teacher at Hogwarts, he couldn't be that bad, could he?

Snape acted like a jerk, but in reality, he was chill.(By this I mean he betrayed, but never really betrayed.)

Good point, but Dumbledore knew that Malfoy wasn't going to be able to kill him, so he got Severus to do it for him, because... welll..... I don't know.... And how by disarming Dumbledore, did Malfoy take the Elder Wand from Dumbledore?

Felix Culpa
Ron... Ron... Ron Weasley! Well, besides, Snape I guess was predestined to be a good guy, all with what you saw in the fifth book when you go into Snape's memory and see the Lily was defending him, so that means he was good, but then he went and said he didn't need help from a Mudblood, and she got pissed. Plus, she never really like Snape's friends, so she was kind of angry.... By the way, the inscription on the Mirror of Erised was kind of obvious once I saw the full thing in Book 1 when reading it (for like the 1000th time). I show not your face but your hearts desire. Lord Ursus
Snape is one of my favorite characters, as his life story and love with Lily is so touching. I once saw a Snape picture of him kneeling and longingly reaching out for the glass of the Mirror of Erised, Lily in a wedding dress behind the glass. That was one of the most touching things I've ever witnessed. I used to hate him so much before the 5th book, when I see a little bit of his life, yet I disliked him. When I read the 7th book, I felt so sorry for him, and thus began to like the character.
