For those of you who don't know the NFL is a league of competitive speech and debate events. If you are in the NFL, what kind of events to you do?I just had a big 2 day tournament at my school. I do Novice Lincoln Douglas debate.

Lemniscate
Yup.Varsity CongressVarsity ImpromptuVarsity OPPCool. I've heard of Impromptu' date=' some of my team did that this tournament, but I haven't heard of Congress or OPP.[/quote'] Congressional Debate is a format wherein you take on the role of a congressman, debating a particular piece of legislation. It begins with a speech in the affirmative, for 3 minutes, with 1 minutes cross examination, then a speech in the negation, with the same time constraints. After a full cycle (an aff and a neg speech), the floor is open for motions. After an hour (the minimum debate length), the floor is open to a motion for Previous Question, which ends the debate, and brings the legislation to the floor for a vote. It's my favorite event. OPP is Original Prose/Poetry, wherein you write your own original story or poem, and present it as a 10 minute speech. Not as fun as Congress, but still pretty fun. Lemniscate
It is, it's actually a bit ridiculous most of the time. I've in fact transitioned largely to a role as a Presiding Officer, as I got bored just doing rounds. But we have Congress State Qualifiers this weekend, so I have to actually be in a round.
