[spoiler=Prologue]

A group of researchers just discovered a new island near the lands of Sinnoh. It is rumored there are new Pokemon there.

Alton was one of the one hundred people that were lucky enough to catch the first boat to the island. As the boat came to a stop, everyone rushed to the exit.

 

All at once, people took pictures of the beautiful views, ran to find Pokemon, and brought out their lunches. Alton was the last to exit the boat. He grabbed a Pokeball from his bag and threw it up into the air. A great Skarmory appeared from the Pokeball. It let out a loud scream of freedom and fresh air.

 

"Come on Skarmory. Let's be the first to find those new Pokemon."

 

It was 12:00 A.M. in the new island of Lezo, and everything was going well. People have found no new Pokemon, but they have seen some Pokemon that had a darker color than it should be. Researchers are trying to find out what could cause the darkening of the colors.

 

Alton has spent one hour looking for new Pokemon. Even with Skarmory's help they found nothing but the same old Pokemon. He was losing hope. Just as he was about to sit down for a rest, something caught his eye. It was dark and small, but it was also fast.

 

"I hope it's not just a dark-colored Ratata."

 

Alton returned Skarmory to his Pokeball. Skarmory gave a frowning look. He wanted to stay outside of the Pokeball. Alton grabbed a blue Pokeball out of his backpack.

 

"Go, Pichu!"

 

[spoiler=Chapter I]

Alton and Pichu ran for the mysterious Pokemon like a swift assassin ready to kill the target. It was running faster and faster. Soon, it became too far to see. Alton continued running anyways. Suddenly, he crashed into a guy wearing a black hair.

 

Alton and the guy got back up at the same time. Then, they shouted the same words simultaneously.

 

“What was that for?! I was about to find a new Pokemon! Stop copying me!”

 

The guy’s Absol ran towards Pichu and moved in close enough to use Crunch. Fortunately, Pichu was fast enough to hit Absol right in the head with an Iron Tail. Alton and the guy continued to fight, not noticing their Pokemon were fighting each other, too. Absol countered with a Zen Headbutt. The impact was so strong, Pichu’s body flew to a tree and crashed into it face first. Pichu slowly got back up and released a wild scream.

 

Alton and the guy turned around, and saw their Pokemon were beaten up. Pichu got ready for a Thunder, but Alton stopped him. The guy, too, stopped his Absol from attacking.

 

“That’s one tough Pichu you got there.”

 

“Thanks, trained it myself.”

 

A loud honk from the boat signaled it was time to go.

 

“My name’s Eur. See ya later.”

 

Eur and his Absol ran away. Alton scratched his head in confusion. At one time they were fighting and now they’re friends? To think they were this close to finding this Pokemon.

 

“Come one Pichu. Get back in your Pokeball. You need some rest.”

 

Alton started his walk towards the boat when suddenly he saw the mysterious Pokemon again. This time, it was just a few yards away.

 

“I think we still have time to catch the new Pokemon. Go, Mamoswine!”

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter II]

“Mamoswine, use Earthquake!”

 

As soon as Mamoswine stomped both of his feet, the ground in front of him shook violently. The rocks flew as high as four feet, burying the target. After the dust cleared out, Alton moved in to inspect the Pokemon.

 

It was an odd thing. It didn’t even look like it was a Pokemon. It just looked like a black sphere. Is this thing even a living thing? A dark aura surrounded it. Alton was afraid to touch it. He took out a Pokeball from his pocket. Then, he threw it at the body of the sphere looking thing. Like any other Pokemon a that get hit by a Pokeball, the dark sphere thing glowed and got sucked into the ball.

 

“Well that was easy.”

 

Just as he was about to grab the Pokeball, the ball started to wobble. Then, a dark aura slowly started to come out. It started spreading throughout the Pokeball until it covered the ball completely. The Pokeball’s color went from red and white to black and dark gray.

 

Alton was watching in amazement. What just happened? He grabbed an nearby twig and poked the Pokeball with it. Nothing seemed wrong. Slowly, he reached out for the Pokeball. Once his index finger touched the Pokeball, he stopped for a moment. Nothing happened. Finally, he was brave enough to hold the whole Pokeball. Once again, nothing happened.

 

“Time to see what you are.”

 

Alton threw the Pokeball in front of him. Instead of the yellow neon glow that usually appears, it was dark aura. The dark sphere formed from the aura, and then it just stood there.

 

“Umm…What’s your name?”

 

The dark sphere didn’t budge. Mamoswine, who was eating apples from a tree, walked slowly towards the orb. Suddenly, the dark sphere attacked Mamoswine. It started to cover it just like what the dark aura did to the Pokeball.

 

“Hey, hey, stop that!”

 

Mamoswine was roaring in madness. He started stomping around, causing Earthquakes to happen. Alton was so panicking so much, he didn’t think of returning Mamoswine to his Pokeball.

 

Then, a guy came out from the trees.

 

“What’s going on he-. What…What is that?!”

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter III]

The dark sphere almost covered Mamoswine completely. Alton and the guy fell from the earthquakes Mamoswine was making. Mamoswine continued to roar in agony.

 

"Make him stop!" yelled the mysterious boy.

 

"How?!"

 

"How else?! Return him to his Pokeball!"

 

"Oh- I knew that."

 

As Alton looked for the Pokeball, the dark sphere continued to spread throughout Mamoswine's body. By the time Alton found the Pokeball, it was already too late.

 

"Mamoswine re-"

 

Mamoswine was completely covered in the black aura. It stopped stomping. Mamoswine was standing still for a moment. Then, he collapsed and fell to the ground. Alton and the guy had their mouths open agape. The dark aura seperated from Mamoswine and gathered itself in the air. It transformed into the sphere shaped thing. Then, it grew and grew and grew. Slowly, it changed into the shape of Mamoswine.

 

The dark sphere now looked like Mamoswine, but it was different. This Mamoswine had black fur, a gray face, a white nose, longer tusks, and it had hair sticking out all over it's body like it had a bad hair day. Dark aura also surrounded it.

 

Alton and the guy just looked at it in awe.

 

"What...What just happened?" the guy asked with a confused face.

 

"I-I-I don't know." Alton was shaking in fear.

 

Suddenly, the evil-looking Mamoswine charged towards Alton. Alton sat, frozen in fear. The rampaging beast was about to maul Alton, but then a Mudkip came out below Mamoswine, causing it to trip. Alton quickly grabbed any Pokeball in his backpack, not caring what Pokemon was inside it. He threw the Pokeball and a brown colored Cubone came out.

 

"Cubone, use Brick Break!"

 

Cubone continually used Brick Break on the Mamoswine, but it looked like it wasn't doing any damage. The evil Mamoswine didn't move. It was just lying there, resting.

 

"Of course! This Shadow Mamoswine, whatever it is, has the same moves as my Mamoswine!"

 

"Then we're going to need help."

 

The guy blew a whistle. At first, nothing was happening, but then, the bushes started to move. Someone came out from the bush.

 

[spoiler=Chapter IV]

“What? What was so big, that you needed to call me? Oh, hi there Alton. I see you’ve met my friend, Leo.”

 

A guy with tight black jeans, tight black t-shirt, and a jet black long coat came through the bushes. At first, Alton didn’t know who he was and how he knows his name, but then he remembered. It was Eur. Leo explained everything to Eur. He “listened” and looked at the weird looking Mamoswine face. As Leo talked, Eur grabbed a Pokeball from his pocket. A barking Houndour came out of the Pokeball. It looked as if it wanted to kill something. For a moment there, Alton thought that Houndour would attack him.

 

“…So you see, that Mamoswine, that Shadow Mamoswine, is now resting.” Leo finally stopped talking.

 

“Uhu, yeah, uhu. Houndour, use Flamethrower.”

 

Houndour eagerly ran to the Shadow Mamoswine and opened its mouth. Then, large amounts of fire blasted from its mouth. Eur and Leo smiled, thinking Houndour was baking that Mamoswine, but Alton was seeing it from the opposite side. While Eur, Leo, and the Houndour saw a wall of flames, Alton saw the dark aura blocking all of it. The fire didn’t even touch the Mamoswine.

 

Suddenly, Mamoswine’s eyes shot open. It let out a menacing roar so scary that it made Houndour look like a new born dog. It swiftly got back up. Shadow Mamoswine started using Stone Edge, but unlike the usual floating rocks, the rocks had dark aura around them.

 

Alton was starting to get it. “That dark sphere. It made an evil yet stronger Mamoswine. Even its moves are stronger.”

 

Shadow Mamoswine threw the dark sharp rocks into every direction. Alton ran in a flash behind a tree. Cubone used dig to escape and appeared next to him. Alton wondered what had happened to Eur and Leo. Slowly, he moved his head around the tree. He saw Leo’s Mudkip using Protect with Eur and Houndour behind it.

 

“Are you guys okay?”

 

“We’re fine. How about you?” asked Eur breathing heavily.

 

“I’m okay, too. How are we going to defeat this thing?”

 

“I don’t know! Just get all of your Pokemon out!” Eur shouted.

 

Everyone agreed on the plan. Alton got Pichu and Skarmory out, Leo got Eevee and Sableye out, and Eur got Absol, Crawdaunt, and Cacturne out.

 

Eur smirked. “Let’s do this.”

 

Absol charged in for a Zen Headbutt, Sableye got ready for a Thunder Punch, and Eevee readied for a Shadow Ball. Everyone was attacking at once. The Shadow Mamoswine, however, countered with Stone Edge.

 

Crawdaunt ran towards Mamoswine, ready to use Crabhammer, but Mamoswine knocked him off with his tusks. Shadow Mamoswine dashed at Mudkip for a Giga Impact. Fortunately, Mudkip was quick enough to use Dig. It sent the Mamoswine charging towards a tree. Shadow Mamoswine’s tusks became stuck on the tree.

 

“This is our chance!” Alton exclaimed.

 

Skarmory, Cubone, Pichu, Cacturne, and Houndour attacked it with all they have. Mamoswine was hopeless. By the end of the barrage, Mamoswine looked badly beaten. It was even bleeding, but something was wrong. The blood was black.

 

 

[spoiler=Chapter V]

The bloody Mamoswine was a repulsive sight to watch. He had seen Pokemon badly beaten, but not like this. Mamoswine’s skin was tearing apart. More and more black blood seeped out of its body. As everyone watches the Mamoswine moan in pain, the boat they used to get to the island honked loudly, signaling it was leaving.

 

“Oh great. Just great! We missed the damn boat! All because of this stupi-“ Eur stopped screaming.

 

Leo and Alton simultaneously said, “Why did you sto-“

 

They turned around to see what Eur was looking at. Alton then noticed Skarmory, Cubone, Pichu, Cacturne, and Houndour had caught the black blood from Mamoswine. The black blood was growing. It was covering them, just like what happened to Mamoswine. Eur, Leo, and Alton stood frozen in fear, not believing what they were seeing. Alton tried to return his Pokemon back to their Pokeball. Eur did the same, but it didn’t work.

 

Suddenly, a loud roar freaked Leo out. He slowly turned around to find that Shadow Mamoswine was free, bloody, and as mad as a bull. Then he saw that Shadow Mamoswine’s shaking had splattered black blood at the other Pokemon. Now all the Pokemon were being wrapped by the blood. Leo, Eur, and Alton did nothing but watched in panick, not knowing what to do.

 

Crawdaunt, Skarmory, and Sableye were trying their best to fight it off, but nothing was working. Soon, they were all covered in black blood. And just like what happened to Mamoswine, the blood separated from their bodies. The dark blood shaped themselves to the evil versions of the victims. Cubone’s head looked like a dead skull, Mudkip’s fin was as sharp as a shark’s, and Crawdaunt’s claws were bigger and tougher.

 

The victims of the black blood lay on the ground fainted. Alton, Eur, and Leo returned them back to their Pokeballs.

 

All the shadow Pokemon looked at them with their dark and ominous eyes. They were ready to kill.

 

“On the count of three,” Leo said, “we run for it.” Eur and Alton nodded. “One…” Shadow Houndour roared. “Three!”

 

They ran as fast as they could, with the shadow Pokemon close behind them. They sprinted through the forest, skipped over the bushes, and flew past the trees. Alton almost tripped a couple times, but he regained his balance. They ran for what seemed like an hour. Finally, the shadow Pokemon was no where to be seen. Eur, Leo, and Alton fell asleep as soon as they hit the ground.

 

 

 

“It has been a whole night since three boys were reported missing. It is said they were last seen on the first boat going to the new island, Lezo. Reporters say-“

 

Sarah, Alton’s mom, turned off the TV. She walked back and forth, worrying that something bad happened to her son. She has called all his friends, all his relatives, all the people that had contacts with him, but she got nothing. Arthur, Alton’s dad, was away on an important business meeting, and didn’t know about it until his wife called him. Now he’s trying to help from a million miles away, doing the same thing his wife was doing.

 

 

 

“Hmph!” Drake said. “Those idiots are probably hiding in the just to get the publicity.” Drake and his friend talked about the recent news they heard on the radio while waiting for their boat to come.

 

“Well, you never know. Maybe a Steelix killed them or something,” his friend replied.

 

Drake was furious that he couldn’t get a ticket to Lezo yesterday. Now he’s impatiently waiting for the boat to arrive. The sun hasn’t risen fully yet, so it was quite dark, but there was enough light to see the boat appear at the horizon.

 

“Finally!” Drake took his backpack and headed towards the boat.

 

 

 

Alton just woke up. His whole body was aching. He didn’t open his eyes because he had a hope that it was all a dream. 1…2…3… He opened his eyes, but he could see nothing. It was all darkness. Where…Where am I?!

This is a pretty nice Prologue, Mr. Twig. Perhaps the story will be more in your favor if I can suggest a Character or two...

 

Actually, I'll suggest one now!

 

Character Name=Drake Clarenceton

Age=18

Gender=Male

Personality=A rather cocky attitude towards those he does not know, and he refuses to take orders from others. He is sometimes selfish as well, but in the end, he can be quite a teammate. He also has a slight belief for Satanism, hence his Pokémon Team.

Bio=Drake used to be the son of a scientist, but in a rare accident, his father was killed and Drake was forced to flee. He found himself ending up on an orphanage, but he escaped when he got bored of it. Eventually, he began to catch and train Pokémon as well.

This is alright' date=' but I must comment on the low Description and the [b'](1[/b]rushed feeling of it all.

 

Also, the chapters are a bit (2)short. I read all of it them in about ten minutes, including the proulouge.

 

1. If I slow down, it would take me forever to write, but I will try this.

2. I didn't want to post long chapters every two weeks. I can't do much during School days so I only have time on weekends. Again, I will try to make longer chapters.
