New Deck: Swarm Deck (definitely needs help)

I've actually made quite a few decks, but most of them have about 2 or 3 custom cards and even more anime-only cards (they were just made for fun). I do have a few decks that are all real cards though. My favorite so far is my Stall Deck (I also have a Synchro Deck that I'm fond of, but that has some OCG cards).

20 Monsters

2x Destiny Hero - Defender

1x Marshmallon

3x Yado Karu

2x Grave Protector

2x Marauding Captain

2x Des Feral Imp

2x Dark Resonator

1x Golden Ladybug

2x Guardian Sphinx

1x Exxod, Master of the Guard

2x Flamvell Guard

11 Spells

2x Final Countdown

2x Recycle

1x Spell Absorption

2x The Dark Door

2x Gold Sarcophagus

2x Heart of Clear Water

9 Traps

2x Solemn Wishes

2x Draining Shield

1x Gravity Bind

2x Scrap-Iron Scarecrow

2x Dark Bribe

Extra Deck

2x Stardust Dragon

Side Deck

2x Energy-Absorbing Monolith

2x Prime Material Dragon

2x Hanewata

2x Krebons

2x Depth Amulet

2x Exiled Force

2x D.D. Warrior Lady

1x Light-Imprisoning Mirror

Basic idea is to stall the opponent's attacks with mainly stardust, scrap-iron scarecrow, and the dark door. as well as other cards like draining shield just in case. Solemn Wishes and others keep my Life Points up which also help with stalling, and to make sure I have enough Life Points to activate Final Countdown. Cards like Yado Karu replenish my deck while I either wait for my opponent to deck out, or to draw final countdown/gold sarcophagus.

Now, in reality, it might be pretty weak but I wouldn't know. I've never actually faced a tournament-level deck. I've only played with my friends.

Ignore the above for now. I assure you, i've made plenty of changes to that deck.

now, there's no swarm deck under deck types on yugioh wikia, so I didn't really know any good swarming cards. so this deck would probably be a VERY bad deck. the main card is the creator, but if you know a better card for swarming, by all means suggest it. I would like to request that any suggestions you make to this deck not be type-specific, attribute-specific, nor archetype-specific (so no six samurai deck, please).

20 Monsters

2 The Creator

3 The Creator Incarnate

2 Herald of Creation

1 Night Assailant

2 Exiled Force

2 Kaiser Sea Horse

2 Kuraz the Light Monarch

3 Zero Gardna

1 Super Conductor Tyranno

2 Honest

12 Spells

1 Card Trader

2 Gold Sarcophagus

2 Trade-In

2 Soul Exchange

2 Monster Reincarnation

2 Foolish Burial

1 Monster Gate

8 Traps

1 Mirror Force

2 Ultimate Offering

3 Covering Fire

2 Beckoning Light

one big question i have is why isnt there a marshmallon or a spirit reaper

another big question is why run draining shield when u could run threatening roar or waboku? both can not only be activated when ur opponent attacks, but also when the opponent activates heavy storm or MST

lightning vortex is offensive, not defensive. same with bottomless and fire princess. I made my stall deck completely for defensive purpose.

because not only do I need to stall, I need to gain life points, and draining shield is better for that. plus I don't like cards taht only stall for 1 turn. draining shield is just an exception because I'd gain life points

thunder of ruler and nightmare steelcage are in the same boat as threatening roar and waboku.

volcanic and flamvell are burn archetypes, not stall archetypes. Maybe if I was making a stall/burn deck, but this one I just made for a stall/final countdown specifically.

I'm sorry I'm being so picky, but I prefer giving my deck "character" before giving it effectiveness.

huh, hadn't thought of trap monsters... which do you think is better for stalling? metal reflect slime or cyber shadow gardna?

hmm... level eater's only stalling ability seems to special summoning itself, in which there are better cards. it's synchro summoning help is useless because I don't have a level 8 tuner monster and only level 8 synchro monsters

field spell cards aren't the best cards in the world because in addition to being able to be destroyed by cards like heavy storm, they're also destroyed when another field spell card is played. and in any case, clock tower prison would be a better staller. I could put that in, but I can't decide which to take out...

Before I say anything' date=' allow me to clarify one detail:

Is the focus here on Final Countdown?

[/quote']

hmm... not exactly. stalling is the main focus, but of course stalling never wins the duel by itself. it always has to be coupled with something. that something else in this case, is final countdown. so yeah, final countdown is a focus, but the bigger focus is stalling

seeing as this is a Final Countdown variant of stall, a build similar to this would probably work out better:

Final Countdown (40)

Monsters (10)

3x Battle Fader

1x Morphing Jar

3x Winged Kuriboh

3x Zero Gardna

Spells (8)

3x Book of Eclipse

3x

1x Heavy Storm

1x Swords of Revealing Light

Traps (22)

3x Curse of Anubis

3x Frozen Soul

1x Gravity Bind

1x Mirror Force

3x Negate Attack

1x Solemn Judgment

3x Threatening Roar

3x Thunder of Ruler

1x Torrential Tribute

3x Waboku

Side Deck (15)

2x Breaker the Magical Warrior

3x Double Snare

3x Dust Tornado

1x Mystical Space Typhoon

3x Prohibition

3x Twister

um... I've already mentioned I don't really like using offensive cards like mirror force or torriential tribute in a stall deck. seems to remove the point of stalling. why not just use them to remove your opponents cards and attack them instead of stalling?

I also don't like one-time-stalls unless they have an added effect like draining shield does. It just seems like I have to put more copies in so I can keep stalling.

Curse of anubis seems helpful because it also switches any attack position monsters I have to defense, but wouldn't No Entry!! be better because that also switches normal monsters' positions?
