The title says it all. This deck sucks so much, and since I'm a noob, I can't fix it. Help Please!

The bolded cards are spell cards, yet you have them as traps...

 

Second, what type of theme do you want? I only see random cards. And theme is not "attacking my opponent and making their LP 0." A deck's theme focuses on a specific card or cards, such as TeleDAD (Dark Armed Dragon and Emergency Teleport) or on specific archetypes like Elemental Heroes, Lightsworns, or Blackwings.

 

My advice: Use the link I'm giving you, pick a deck type, and have someone give you a deck list for it. And make sure to go through all the deck types, not just the A-C ones.

An easy deck for you to use would be Gadgets. Easy game mechanics and it looks like you're on YVD so you should be able to try this:

3 Royal Oppression

2 Bottomless Trap Hole

2 Dimensional Prison

1 Torrential Tribute

1 Mirror Force

1 Solemn Judgment

 

Maintain field presence and keep getting your opponent's monsters out of the way. Keep Oppression on the field if you need it.

it's just my personal opinion, and as I have no experience/authority, it probably doesn't matter too much, but I think we should teach him a little about basic deck construction before we move onto themes...

 

first, there's the fact that you had a lot of cards in your deck. I personally don't feel having more than 40 cards is bad, but you have over 50 cards, which even I think is bad...

 

then there's your high-level monsters. if I'm reading correctly, you have 6 no tribute monsters (counting cyber dragon because of its effect), and 9 tribute monsters. You should keep high level monsters to a minimum and majority of your monsters being level 4 or lower (or have an effect for easy summon, like cyber dragon).

 

next, you should keep your monster to spell/trap ratio at about 1:1. you have twice as much spell and trap cards as you do monsters...

 

of course, depending on deck, there are some exceptions to these rules, but generally, all decks follow these three rules.

since you have been taught so much, iill just point out some bad cards.

Darkblaze Dragon is too weak to do anything.

Gilford is 3 tributes for the Raigeki-Like effect, so it would be very hard to pull off. No one really uses it.

Luster Dragon is outclassed, it's not completely terrible though.

With something like Kaiser Sea Horse, the game nowadays focuses on special summoning, so using something like this isn't needed all that much, just in certain situations.

Stuff like Dian and Ookazi won't do anything significant.

Pot of Avarice is better than Monster Reincarnation, but you may find uses for it though.

Draining Shield/Magic Cylinder isn't good because it stops only one attack, isn't chainable,(meaning it can easily be destroyed before you can ever use it) and doesn't destroy anything. Heal/Burn isn't significant, like Dian/Ookazi. Good monster protection would be Threatening Roar and Waboku.

There is a card called Bottomless Trap Hole, a better version of the original Trap Hole.

 

Just remember, certain cards belong in different decks. There is a deck for dragons, and there is a completely different deck for something like Demise.

I personally feel most of that is just opinion or circumstantial, especially considering he's still new at this.

 

The only one I do agree with 100% is the gilford one. Beat King Barbaros has the same effect plus more, and has an easier summoning condition just in case.
