"Were sacrificed for the building materials, more likely." she quipped. "In which case, they really should have invested in some rock or something. I'm not an architect, but I'm sure bone can't be a reliable crafting material." she wondered aloud. She raised her eyebrows slightly.

"And I'm a great swimmer." she complained huffily. "It's just the fact I'm a Rito that makes me horrible at it. We're not really made for the water, with talons and whatnot. Though for some reason, we only make our homes near the shore."

She shrugged a little, smiling brightly when he tossed the Grappling Hook back at her. She caressed the weapon brightly for a few seconds, buffing the pieces of wet sand that had stuck to the metallic portion with a wing as Erzet talked, blinking when he suddenly cut off mid-sentence. She followed his gaze to a strange skeletal worm that was creeping across the ground, cocking her head at what was possibly the cutest undead skeletal abomination she'd ever seen, before she was suddenly surrounded by six of the repulsive creatures; All of them towering over her with their bony presence.

Slowly holding her grappling hook, Sariri, as calmly and slowly as she could, spun the weapon in a lazy circle to her side, watching them all, as if trying to tell when the first one would strike. Her arms were tensed, ready to release the hook into the first thing that moved, vaguely aware that she should probably try not to hurt Erzet in the process.

There was another part of her mind yelling at her that she was fighting necromantic snakes below ground in a temple built out of skulls and she was insane for even getting into this situation, but she frequently ignored that voice.

((OOC: Aqua Girl, there WAS another open door in the other room. Also, waiting on Andx/Marsuvees before continuing.))

[spoiler=GM Post (Sunken Skull Dungeon)]

Erzet glanced about the six Skull Serpents appraisingly, as if considering the individual value of each of them. He paused for a moment and then squared his shoulders, as if coming to a decision.

"This one...!" he cried, springing forwards towards the left-most one in a spinning attack, his scimitars discernible as only a blur of silver in each hand. The Skull Serpent did not waste any time; with a serpentine sway, it dipped its head and then exploded from its coils, jaws bared wide to deliver a savage bite. Using his left scimitar, Erzet parried the snake's strike and redirected its momentum with a flick of his wrist, exposing the creature's vulnerable skeletal neck. The Gerudo growled as he struck out with the weapon in his right hand, wielding the scimitar in a wide, sweeping motion—for the briefest of moments, the time-worn surface of the Serpent's bone resisted. Then the flashing metal cut through its neck like a knife through hot butter and with the backsweep of the same strike, Erzet struck the decapicated skull with his hilt, sending it flying through the air and into the murky water behind.

Erzet didn't wait to see the creature collapse, however; as soon as he had struck for the second time and dislodged the enemy's head, the Skull Serpent across from him had sprung forwards. He danced aside from its initial strike and sprang backwards, his booted feet landing firmly on the muddy ground with an unpleasant squelch, breaking the semi-circle that had formed around the two Champions. The ploy worked even better than he could have hoped for—as he looked on, the Serpent that had attacked gathered itself and slithered forward, followed by another, leaving Sariri with only three enemies to deal with as opposed to five.

He hoped that the Rito would be able to handle the three Skull Serpents on her own—for the moment, there was nothing he could do to help her. Out of the corner of his eyes he registered one of the three Serpents lunging towards her, then he focused upon the two enemies that were menacing him.

"Come on," Erzet said, moving forward slowly to meet the Skull Serpents, green eyes flashing savagely as he hissed the challenge from behind the gray scarf.

Current Location: Doomed Gateway

[spoiler=Places of Interest & Enemies]

Places of Interest:

• Doomed Gateway: A fairly high-ceilinged room, it is located at the entrance of the dungeon and is illuminated by two torches that glow with a sickly green flame, as well as several floating marshlights. It has three main doorways, only of one of which is currently accessible. To the right lies a comparably solid stretch of muddy ground that leads to a stone door bound by silver chains, which is obviously locked. Directly in front and to the right of you, the ground transforms into a mire of murky and treacherous water whose depth is indeterminable. Although you can make out an unlocked door to the right across a wide expanse of the stagnant water, it does not seem currently available.

• Silver Key: Recently obtained from the wooden chest that was revealed by Erzet's puzzle-solving, it appears to be the companion to the lock that is fixed to the door to your left.

• Polluted Well Access: A crumbling stone door weathered by damp and slime, it is covered by gleaming silver chains that prevent passage. At the center of the chains is a square padlock with a keyhole. Since you've recently obtained the Silver Key that will unlock it, moving over there seems like a good option... provided you can make it past the swarm of Skull Serpents.

• ???: A crumbling stone door weathered by damp and slime, it is unlocked and accessible... provided you can somehow cross the wide expanse of murky, stagnant water that separates it from where you're standing.

Enemies:

Skull Serpent x5: A sinister swarm of amphibious-dwelling serpents, they do not have any skin or organs, being composed solely of a white-bleached skeleton and a pair of fangs that looked like they are more than capable of delivering a savage bite. You are currently surrounded by the creatures with no manner of escape, so it looks like taking them out is your only option for the time being. Although stabbing attacks might not do much against the hard surface of their bones, slashing strikes might be able to cut them apart, as Erzet had just demonstrated.

Exits:

• N/A: Even if you return up the staircase you just moved down, there is no exit to this dungeon, due to the jaws of the skull that was serving as a door slamming shut. There's only one way to advance and that's forward!

[spoiler=GM Post (Dream Dungeon]

DreamDungeonCrest.pngGM Post: Dream Dungeon

There was a thunderous roar and a momentary flash of bright light as the bomb exploded in the narrow limestone corridor. Although Raven's shield absorbed the worst of the shockwaves, it could do nothing about the cloud of dust and debris that enveloped the three companions as the fractured wall shattered and then collapsed. When the dust finally cleared, Skull Kid was coughing furiously on all fours, clutching his chest. After a moment, his breathing returned to normal and he sat up, pointing unnecessarily with triumph at the newly-formed opening in the wall—as Deralen, Raven, and Skull Kid peered inside curiously, the flickering purple light of the torches revealed it to be a small, square-shaped alcove, more like a tomb or coffin than anything else.

What was truly notable, however, was the elevated limestone platform rising from the ground, its circular shape familiar to the Champions after traversing the Dream Dungeon. "Well, guys," Skull Kid chirped, taking his flute in hand and indicating the pedestal upon which Deralen and Raven were supposed to lay down, "are you in the mood for a quick nap?"

Current Location: Illusory Hall Access

[spoiler=Places of Interest]

Places of Interest & Enemies:

• Illusory Hall Access: A narrow and rather claustrophobic limestone passageway, it is lined by torches that burn with a bizarre purple flame. Although it seems to lead much further into the Dream Dungeon, you are currently unable to proceed, due to a gleaming black metal gate. You you know from experience that the gate is invulnerable to all forms of attack, so you'll need to find a way to somehow lower it.

• Limestone Alcove: Located directly to your right, it is a small square-shaped alcove dominated by a Dream Pedestal, which you know from experience will take you into this room's otherworldly twin. Perhaps in the Dream World you'll be able to find some way to lower the gate that prevents you from entering the Illusory Hall.

Deralen glared at the black gate blocking their path, wishing for once that the bombs would actually work on the gate. Still, this seemed to be the correct way, he thought, since there *was* a lit pathway behind the wall. A few moments after taking his eyes off the gate had him locate the dream pedestal in plain view.

"Sigh.... I'm getting tired of...." Deralen began to reply to Skull Kid's statement before pausing. "...going... to that... other.... world. Yeah." Before sitting on the pedestal, Deralen's blades swung out and locked in place on his gauntlets. "Make sure I don't cut myself when I sleep." He wasn't sure about how this transference worked, but this time he would be prepared.

Raven had to cover his mouth to keep from subsiding into a coughing fit and close his eyes to keep from being blinded by hte cloud of dust that resulted from the bombs explosion. Fortunately, he was right about his shield being able to withstand the blast. Once the dust had cleared away, he and the others had moved towards the new opening in the wall that the bomb had made, Raven resting a hand against the side of the opening as he saw yet another raised pedestal. He sighed as he walked over towards the raised pedestal with Deralen and, upon his complaining about the constant traveling to and from the dream world, he in response said "Hey, look at the bright side. At least we're not having to find items to open the way forward first." He then unsehathed the Noble Sword, thinking that he was starting to prefer it to the sword that he usually used. Switching his grip on it so that it was pointing down from the oustide part off his hand, he holds it flat against himself with the hilt at chest height and the point of the blade extending from the bottom of his shield that covered the rest of his body below the hilt of his sword. Having arranged himself comfortably enough, but also in such a way that he could easily and quickly strike immediately upon enteriong the Dream World, he raises his voice as he tells Skull Kid that he and Deralen were ready to proceed, and waited for the music that would lull them into an enchanted sleep, thereby allowing them to once again enter the Dream World.
