Mirages - can you kill one?

It's not terribly useful, it's meant to make your opponent lose more card advantage than usual to get rid of it. And while he doesn't, you can use the time it buys to set your game up.

Worst case scenario (second worst, considering there are alternative ways of removal) is your opponent wasting 1 card then stomping it with a Lv3. Best case scenario, he's stuck. :P

No I don't. Latest OCG doesn't require "Damage calculation is applied normally", check Spirit Reaper for confirmation.

Also, it's not there to just fill the field, it forces the opponent to make a move - essentially waste a card(s). It's just not gamebreaking in a warped meta where stall=lol. It's still a viable card in a properly functioning game. ;)

Of course it doesn't stop everything, like bouncing, spinning or removing from play, but I'm not aiming for a staple here, but rather a utility card.

no, worst case scenario would be your opponent summoning a Chaos Necromancer when he has like 10 monsters in his graveyard. not only would mirage by destroyed, you'd lose almost half your life points
