Life after death is a completely bogus theory.

I think it is. Infact, I know it is.

In life, we see stuff, hear stuff, sense stuff. But when were dead, we can't see, we can't speak, we can't use are minds, we can't do anything. We can't go to improbable sky places or fiery pits. We can't because we can't see, hear, move or do anything, only our bodies will rot, and therofore our minds will cease to exist.

"I think, therefore I am". Good quote, because when your dead you can't process thoughts or emotions, you have no life after death, because you are dead, and due to modern technologies, you can't be revived.

You cant prove any of this

That's a horrible way to view this topic. You can't prove that people have a soul.

But there is reasonable evidence that your brain produces emotions and thoughts and stores memories' date=' etc...

Not to mention that pretty much every religion worships the sky, or originally worshiped the sky.

And to target Christianity in particular; Jesus is a total rip-off of Horus.[hr']

You cant prove any of this

I agree with this.

Maybe they should kill you for a few seconds and then revive you. (Doctors can do that yes)

And then you tell us afterward.

They wouldn't be able to tell anything because your brain stores your memories. If your brain is dead, then it doesn't store memories. And if your brain didn't store any memories, you can't recount what happened.

To be honest' date=' I'd rather believe in life after death than no life after death.

It's human instinct to want to live, greed or not.

[/quote']

I don't really see why. People say this all the time; but it seems like believing in life after death would make people look forward to dying in a sense.

Death isn't something you should look forward too. =\

Become immortal, or close to it. It's been done, people have lived like, 500 years.

The heart can die, you'll be fine. But when your brain dies, your carrotes sont cuites! Your dead.

Eh, most people see life after death as a way of 'immortality'.

If you were on your deathbed, would you like to believe that when you die, you'll be reborn as a new person/animal/etc to lead a new life? I know some people will say 'No, of course not.' But they aren't their deathbeds are they?

You know what, forget my point. I can't seem to find a way to explain it. >_>

I get what you're saying... And I guess I'll never fully understand until I am about to die... But I think I'd rather be reincarnated or just die. =\

You can't know anything, only have faith that it is true, because you've never been dead. You cannot see, you cannot hear, you cannot feel, you cannot smell, all you can do is have faith, and let it guide you. This is the rule of not only of my faith, but of all things we cannot know.

@Willieh: How do you know that Jesus was a rip off of Horus? Did you go back in time 2000 years to see EVERYTHING Jesus did, even the things that were not recorded in the Bible? If you add up everything that Jesus did that was recorded in the Bible, and add up the amount of time it took for all of those things to happen, you might get a year of Jesus' life, if not less. So how can you believe that?

I'd rather not die. I have a fear of death, probably because of my non-religious status. I always imagined death as a dark lonely abyss. =/

You cant prove any of this

This goes both ways.

If the soul exists' date=' then it's invisible and is not tangible in any way. That's pretty hard to believe. But either way, while I obviously fear it and would avoid it if possible: Death is but the next great adventure.

[/quote']

Well, hopefully it's short and it doesn't hurt.

When your heart dies, you usually become unconscious pretty soon after due to oxygen deprivation and lack of blood flow. That's why people in cardiac arrest don't have any brain activity. In which case, your brain might as well be dead.
