+1 to the Sordemeter

So, today, as I was talking with a friend of mine in my sixth period class, another friend of mine (female) walks up, sits on my lap, begins hugging me, and lays her head on my shoulder, her hair obscuring her face.

Everyone else begins to freak out, making sexual jokes, and the like.

Then, after several minutes, she gets up, and it is obvious she has been crying, and everyone in the class making the jokes feels like an a**hole.

Anyway, discuss moments like this, where you make a joke, and then feel like a total jerk later.

(for anyone wondering, "Sordemeter" is a made up word, combining the Latin word for meanness, which is "sordes", and "meter", which means "to measure")

There was a time where I was at a Mock Trial round, and a girl went up and did her piece. She was talking very loud, and the room was fairly small, making it seem like she was yelling.

Almost everyone on my team that was not competing at the moment began to laugh and make jokes, when our coach receives a text message from one of the team members, who is the bailiff.

It says the following:

"She has a hearing aide".

Normally I'm polite and pleasant to everyone, and I try. However, sometimes, it is quite difficult to be a pleasant person, and I still manage to stay somewhat pleasant. Every once in a EXTREMELY (Months to years) long time, I insult.

I keep my anger inside, and either ignore it or let it implode on myself.

I don't feel like a jerk when I make jokes/insult someone.

I really think we are twins' date=' because I end up quoting your posts (agreeing with them) more often than any other member.

Then we are evil twins, because I've noticed that my opinions repeatitively differ from yours.

Let's see, I'm anti-social, apathetic, have friends, but not a lot...yeah.

Only thing missing is me being an Atheist. =/

I found my real siblings.

GROUP HUG!

But what they don't know is that I have a bomb in my shirt. So when they hug me, we all die!
