Scatty
This is not a Poll, so don't vote for which is better. Simply, discuss art and different art styles and how were they influenced by history and historical circumstances. For a side topic, discuss Salvador Dali. Dark
Frida Kahlo looked like a boy. And her paintings weren't that good, either.
Dad
If I'm not mistaken, Picasso was an jabroni. Even though his works were great, he disgraced women and treated them like trash. It was pretty fucked up. But otherwise, I'm not a big fan of modern art. I like a lot of the classics. Van Gogh. ;D
CinnamonStar
Classical art all the way!I'm a huge fan of Renaissance and Baroque art, architecture, plastic arts, the entire culture! It doesn't mean modern art is bad, there's a lot of good stuff in it too. I really think the wrong people get the attention, there's really nothing I like about Picasso except the messages.I <3 the experimentation and innovation spirit of modern art, less limitations, but for some people they tend to shoot way too far and not in a good way... Let's say I like it when it's innovative and well-executed, not something like "let's be as provocative and sluttish as possible! just to stand out rite?". Guest JoshIcy
Dali, like my Mentor was inspired by him. His artwork taught me so much about perspective and creative thought. What you can do with a single object etc. He truly is an inspiration, (art wise). Much of my art is actually because of him ._."... I'll scan some tomorrow. Scatty
Yeah, agreed. Surrealism is one of the best art forms ever. And unlike other modern compositions, it does not really have that persistent "mirror" effect (when the painting makes you think about yourself right away and tells nothing about the painter's feelings). Classical was big, and still is. But I must say that from the Renaissance and Romantic periods I like only the paintings that represent people and mighty buildings. The details are just great to stretch your mind and give a new perspective.Ow, also, (this may offend many people but I don't really know if I care), I think abstract art sucks.
