My favorite commercial is when the two are getting younger yadda yadda yadda.

I would go with a Mac if they weren't too expensive. Think Macs suck because they can't run your PC programs? Click Here.

Yeah' date=' go buy a mac (for 3 times the price) to run Windows. Fu[b'][/b]cking genius.

Mac is too easy to maintain it awesome that way

Macs are idiot proof, Microsoft gives their users more credit than that.

Macs are also a much smoother interface. It makes everything easier.

Yeah, I know. Vague, mystical, "we're just better that way" crap. But that's frankly what OSX offers. It gives you a very strong Unix-based workhorse, while offering a polish that simply doesn't exist in Linux, or even in Windows.

Meanwhile, if you look at my earlier post, you'll see my argument's in favor of the computer itself. Apple is a hardware company. They provide an excellent piece of software to complement that hardware. But keep in mind that's what it is. Apple tends to be progressive, so they shaped their user experience on favor of a 'Nix OS, and then went ahead and crafted the OS that they imagined should be run on their computers.

When I weigh the pros of "smoother interface" and "(coughslightly) better hardware" against the cons of "limited software" and "LOL3XPRICE", I find the cons outweigh the pros.

Of course, I also like to game. Which is something a Mac can't do.

Not slightly better hardware. Vastly superior. I couldn't live with a non-unibody laptop at this point. Most are hardly laptops, in my eyes, but more of a desktop that you can move.

And as I explained, the price is not outrageous for the hardware.

Now onto the actual good point that you made. Gaming. Many games are not ported onto OSX, and those that are must be waited for. Furthermore, the Mac modding community is often not compatible and therefore severely stunted.

Solution: Run it on bootcamp. (Parallels is slow as funk)

Problem with solution: That requires that A. You have XP or 7 laying around and B. You're willing to reboot.

B. is a minor issue. If I'm going ot be playing a game, I have some actual time on my hands. Which that the minute it takes to do so is not a problem.

A. could theoretically be a problem, but who actually buys an OS? I mean seriously. Seriously. Every person I know who owns a Mac has a Windows OS dualbooted, and I highly doubt a single one of them went and bought a copy. I sure didn't.
