The YCM History: Contribute for the future (LINKS ADDED!)

Good counter-argument, Pikachu. My logic was a bit flawed there, I must admit. But, maybe it's just me, but people don't care too much about the past. It's a forum on the internet, not the world. :/

As a side question, is it okay if I go to your old 'history thread' and dig out some information to put on this?

Nothing is stopping you. ;)

Thanks mate.

Maybe I could dig up some useful facts from there.

5-24-09 - Hunter is made a moderator.

8-30-09 - Umbra resigns from his position as moderator.

9-01-09 - Rinne and Shadius are made moderators.

I'll find more promotion dates later' date=' but that's what I got for now. I can't link anything, though; it's all in the mod forum. :/

Great stuff so far. ;D

Thanks. I'll add them.

Ok heres an example....

Ash: Hey Professor Oak do you got any new Pokemon?

Professor Oak: Yes I do!

Ash: Can I have a Pik-a-chu

Professor Oak: Why Ash I never thought you would think like that!

I still don't get it. Bite me?

Great stuff mate! Thanks. One rep is coming.

Hey Pikachu in the 2009 spoiler you made a mistake in this part

08-08-09: Even after much disapproval' date=' Hoßßes created the first YCM Lottery. It had soon became a huge success and gave a purpose for points.

08-30-09: Umbra resigns from his position as moderator of Fan Fics.

If you put the mouse over them youll see what I mean

the url wasnt done properly

...Crap. I'll fix it soon.

They should be seperated links

once you do that add the First YCM lottery to 2008

Also add these

10-30-2009 - Halloween Stamp Collection - http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-164885.html

12-24-2009 - Christmas Events made - http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-177009.html

01-26-2010 - New YCM Skin Realesed - http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-183770.html

OH, OF COURSE! The skin is very important indeed.

Since you have done a lot of contributing to the forum, any other things you have suggested that I didn't add?

Hmm...you didn't put a date up there, so I can't accept it.

But if you do, I'll be happy to accept it.

- This user got the avatar size changed from 80x80 to 100x100.

- This user got Questions, Comments & Suggestions separated.

- This user got the Multimedia category created. (with Altair)

- This user started the YCM Theme Workshop. (Bloodrun joined later)

- This user is the creator of Pokémon YCM.

That's about it.

Omg. D:

I'll go get the links then.

http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-75308.html - Avatar size (I just realised that Altair needs credit for this too as he took over the list once I left)

[] - Questions, Comments & Suggestions separated (it was suggested in Dj's thread in General that FP replied to >_>)

http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-84152.html - Multimedia

http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-101811.html - YCM Theme Workshop

And although it did gain a lot of popularity and is under the Important Thread Index, I don't think Pokemon YCM is quite notable enough for this. I mean, if you look through my old threads you'll see a lot of crazy stuff that I've done before (some that I regret, some that I don't). Still surprised that Card Development and Colour-coded usergroups didn't happen though. Once I revive my "separate RP from Fan-Fic" thread I meant revive them too.

YCM Theme Shop' date=' I really don't consider it to be 'famous' since none of your skins got officially approved. So no.

The Questions/Comments & Suggestions...please hurry. >_<

[/quote']

YCMaker PM'd me about it telling me some info I needed, and was looking at the thread every time I saw him on. I think that qualifies a lot more as- Leo getting some posts, for instance.

And... goddamnit. x_x Ruby's Graphic Competitions was accepted in the same thread, and Intro's post count got removed (this was later reversed). I'll go find it.

EDIT: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-84036.html It's in there somewhere. Have fun.

Well, they had never had anything similar to that before so he had nothing to base what he should do on. I felt the way he handled the situation (though obviously bias, but both sides were so much that it was unbelievable). At least Frunk began to handle it in a mature way before the GameFAQ members started arguing about it. HORUS made me lol in that thread though, "what do you get my winning this argument on the internet?". Look at him now. XD

And I'm not quite sure his conclusions were wrong in that thread, especially compared to other people in the thread. YCM was a lot nicer back then too, because people like Crab and Pika who come to argument and debate weren't around, people just casually spoke.

Sure, they were nice, until you tried to say that they were wrong (which they often were, back in the day) then you got jabronied at, and when you brought in backup, they got jabronied at, too, until everyone except you got banned for a little bit just for disagreeing. Now, granted, it got pretty heated, but that's no reason to go banning someone. Also, it's pretty clear that Frunk was at least semi-pressured into banning people because of the attitude of HOURS and a few others, but that still doesn't excuse the act.

No' date=' it doesn't, and it definitely wouldn't now. However back then, it was fine and appreciated. He did what was right for the community at the time.

And so you commend Frunk for standing up for a broken system instead of standing against it like we did? The logic fails me...

At the time, no better system was known. You guys just flamed and trolled people, and that wasn't appreciated then, and shouldn't be now either. The annoying thing was that they then attempted to claim their innocence on the matter and say that Frunk was the unjust one.

We did neither, or at least didn't do any more than the people on the other side. Again, your definition of trolling/flaming and my definition are at odds with each other.

Those in that thread did so, easily. HORUS was no better at all and relied on Frunk to be bias too, which was stupid.

Flaming = insulting another user, "you're an idiot", "you're a dumbass", etc.

Trolling = posting in invoke a negative reaction from another user, "you're stupid and your TCG opinion is also" (this is why the two usually come together)

I don't see how these are at odds.

Saying that the person is stupid because you disagree with that person is flaming. Saying that the person's opinion is stupid because you disagree or because their opinion isn't based in what is generally recognized as being the source of a good opinion is not flaming the person. Calling someone dense or stupid because they repeatedly posted the same thing over and over again even after it had been refuted AND claiming not to have read the thread isn't flaming, it's truth. Shades of grey, my friend. No situation is clear cut.
